Hahaha that's like me and my EX boyfriend! He's seven years older and will be talking about a song or something from his college years, and I'm like "I was in middle school then." Even my current flame asked me if I had been to Lilith Fair in the late 90s, and I was like ummmm No, I was like thirteen and under sooo yeahhhhhh.... LOL.^^ Yep same with me and my boyfriend! We're 6 years apart. It's funny huh. So, for example, whenever we hear an old song on the radio he'll be like "Oh this song reminds me of being in Year 12" and I'll be like "This reminds me of being in Year 6" and then he'll feel old![]()

Nope. It's Folly Beach. Do you frequent Charleston?
I went down to Charleston last May. I LOVE that city, it reminds me of Boston in the sense that it retains a lot of its history. Its just a beautiful city. We stayed on Sullivan's Island and thank GOD there was a Red Sox bar there, it was pretty neat we got to see all our games, plus the Bruins games against the Canes (playoffs). But I look forward to my next visit. I would go to Charleston over Myrtle Beach any day of the week.
Oh god, Myrtle Beach is a white trash mecca. It's definitely #2 on the trash list after Destin, FL. I was there last weekend for a friend's birthday and I was perpetually in a bad mood being surrounded by so many 18-20somethings acting like complete idiots. I can only handle so many neon buildings and flashing lights before I throw up as well 8) Alas, it must be appealing to a lot of people if so many folks vacation there. Maybe I just don't "get it."
I haven't really been to Sullivan's that much as it isn't the closest beach to me (I live in West Ashley), plus I have an affinity for Folly Beach as I grew up there during summers and breaks from school in Georgia. I have been going there since I was six and lord, has it changed... It still retains its laid back style. My s.o., a friend of his, and myself are looking at houses on Folly starting on Monday actually. I lived there one summer after graduating high school and it was amazing.
ANYWAY. Enough about Folly. Charleston, now Charleston is the most amazing city I have ever been to or lived in, and I've traveled and lived in soooo many places. I will be sad when I move to Quantico, VA in a year and a half but I will surely make plenty of visits "home" (I consider Charleston my "home" now, not Georgia).
As far as Boston goes, I LOVED it when I visited a few years ago. It really had a lot of personality for a big city (most of them seem to end up being basically the same thing, just in a different place). The art community was so big there as well, which I just loved. I will definitely make another trip there when I live close by in the future.
I'm a big fan of the dinosoar museum. :-DBostonians have a TON of civic pride. It's a lot smaller than a lot of people realize (~600k people within city limits), but is one of the most dense cities in the country. Boston is also unique because instead of annexing a lot of the surrounding communities, they remain their own townships (which are also very dense, you would hardly notice when you left Boston and returned). Boston, also known as the Athens of America, has a lot to offer in terms of art, music (both classical and bands), and two of the three largest libraries in the country (one of the libraries at Harvard and the Boston Public Library with the Library of Congress being the largest.), and the the little credited burgeoning restaurant scene. If you're into art, the SoWa section (South Washington) of Boston is filled with independent galleries and weekly crafts fairs. If you're ever headed up this way and need any advice or recommendations feel free to PM me.
P.S.
BOSTON ROCKS!!!!![]()
