although, i cant help but wonder.... With last year's "operation guardian" (ie a million cops and dogs @ olympic park), can we expect the same thing this year or was it just a crackdown for last year?

Does anyone have any info about this year, ie another operation, general police presence, etc?

Do they really close the doors on the Boiler room after 5pm? If they do I'll be spewin because I won't be in a condition to be locked in there. 8(

If that's the case then my plans will have to change due to intoxication. ;)
 
no, they dont close the doors... the halls are huge that the boiler room is in...
and fuck... no one needs to be locked in a room with those crazy fuckers from Polyphonic Spree...

There'll be no need to lock the doors this year as the act that would normally be headlining in there - Chemical Brothers - are playing outside. They *did* lock the doors in 2002 when Basement Jaxx played in there, but that was at 11pm when it became so full people couldn't move. The problem was, that anybody who stayed until the end of the prodigy on the main stage missed out.

The following year they erected a big screen outside so people could see Underworld, and that worked out much better so people could come and go as they pleased.

I don't know where you got 5pm from though...that's crazy talk!!
 
They closed the doors last year on both days from memory as the boiler rooms act was then finishing up after Metallica was. This was done to try and avoid the god knows how many people after Metallica droping in on the way to the trains and making a rather packed room even more packed. :)
