I managed to see everybody without really seeing anybody....
Although the highlight of the day would have to be the look on my friend's face when we walked into the boiler room when polyphonic spree were playing

My Review...
Scribe - too packed, shouldnt of been in the boiler room, but the hot house wasnt the place for him either... Same set at homebake... meh...
Infusion - fuckin great, how good were these guys, caught up with Halo for this... was a top set!!!
Freestyler - really good, was a great show, good the crowd into it, most of the people left after Push up... which i found funny, but when they closed with Get A Life, was fuckin kick ass!!!
SOAD - i caught this from the grandstands... was a real good set, Serj didnt really sound all that crash hot...
Beasties - i was there till 9:30, was alright, was just a bit fucked up at the time...
Chems - (in boiler) caught up with halo again... GURNFEST !!! good fuckin times, great fuckin music, only sad thing, they didnt play setting sun... or they did, and i just didnt know about it

i cant believe i messaged a friend of mine like 10 minutes ago, telling him off for being so fucked up & gurning so early in the day - only to get the response... i didn't have anything until Carl Cox!

So the day started at granville station, where as soon as i walked up the ramp i saw two cops with sniffer dogs on the platform...hmmm...although as i stood there watching them, they'd snuck up behind some dude who didn't see them until it was too late, and the dog had sniffed his bag and he was escorted away for further questioning.
A rather sobering start to the day i felt....nothing like cops and dogs to completely fuck up the vibe...
Got to homebush about 11.30, and had to wait for my friend who had decided to come at the last minute....got a ticket off a scalper for him for $180....i'm sure there were some selling for less, but i didn't really want to fuck around...
Got in around 12.20, and immediately set about the task of getting a wristband and a drink....but then saw the queues WTF!!! even at that early time they were waay too long...
Got a call from riot grrl telling me to get my arse to the meetup coz everybody was leaving....the drink would have to wait...it was good meeting you again riot and gher
from there, well the day can basically be summed up by random wanderings....we got down to eskimo joe when they started their set at 1, at which point i went to get some drinks....i eventually returned with the drinks at 1.40, just in time to catch the last couple of tracks....fuckin queues, and the beers were warm too....
saw spazzy, little birdy, john butler, bexta, and then headed the hothouse at 4.25 to catch the hilltop hoods....i'd been looking forward to this since homebake, but as soon as i got the hothouse and saw people spilling out the door and trying to push their way in i knew i was in trouble....i joined the masses and managed to force myself into the room in view of the stage, but at that point i could hardly breathe and was covered in my own and everybody else's sweat....
decided to fuck it off and go back the boiler room where i caught up with officer chops....good to see you again buddy....caught the first half of freestylers before going to see spiderbait...saw enough of them until system of a down...haven't really heard too much of their recent stuff, and chop suey didn't go off nearly as hard as it did 3 years ago...
i was interested in seeing the polyphonic spree, so dragged my friends along to that and fuck it was comedy once we got there....i was almost beaten up when my friends saw what was on the stage....they were like "what the fuck, you made us walk all the way for THIS!?"....hehe, i couldn't stop laughing about it for the rest of the night...it was tragic, all these hippies in robes...
attempted to settle in for the streets, but the set didn't get off the best of starts...my friends kept making negative comments and i couldn't concentrate...mike skinner says "i will take you to the futureland" and my friend says "not at this rate you won't"....i bowed to their pressure and we headed over to powderfinger (who i also wanted to see so it wasn't a total loss)
spent the rest of the night among the masses in front of the orange stage....beastie boys were OK, about as i expected, although what the fuck was that business when the lights went out and they came out on the stage playing the guitars and wearing bow ties? i was mashed at that point and i just couldn't get my head around it....WTF? I've gotten crazy eye visuals before, but that just did my head in...
The chems were good, i enjoyed star guitar, a very cruisy way to finish things off...
Probably the best BDO i've been to, although i didn't really get into any one set because i was floating around too much...

BDO is like that. You always highlight who you want to see on the map, and never actually end up seeing them - or you see bits of them.
Sucks to be a drinker, or run out of money yesterday. Queues for the ATM were like 1/2 hour long!

the queues were a pisstake....i saw the queue for the ATM and thought thank god i'd withdrawn that extra money on the way in. Dunno what they can do about it though, i think there's only 2 ATMs in the precinct (and the banks have no reason to install more for one-off events). I think they were advertising that there were no ATMs inside which is a pretty good move, otherwise the queues would have been twice as long.

That was a great day, nice to see you all there! Yeah the lines for everything sucked and, umm, let's just say I'd hate to be one of the cleanup crew. 8) I too was floating all over the place till I finally got settled in at around 4 or 5pm. After that everything was fine. My favourite acts were the ones I managed to pay attention to - i.e. Slipknot, SOAD and Beastie Boys.
The only real downer for me was leaving my gear with sydkiwi and baker so I got get beaten around in the mosh pit. Then we got split up and I had to wait till this afternoon to get it back! (sorry

on hack on triple j yesterday, they were actually outside the grounds, interviewing people who had just been searched...
i only heard the first 5-10 minutes of it, but from what they were saying, a lot of innocent people got taken aside...
the more and more i think of it, the more i think it is just a scare tactic... yes, dogs have good smell.. but fuck...
They pulled up some people jsut because they were dressed as vikings and they thought it was a pisstake...
