SYD ::: 360 ::: Easter Sat ::: REVIEW

GLAM GLAM GLAM.... what a sham. Planet Funk completely turned me off. It was like listening to Massive Attack before a football game. It was so not in line with everything else, and you could see how much it pissed off people in the crowd. I heard... I cant believe I paid 70 bucks for this a little too often. Perhaps Fuzzy should have put Planet Funk on when they still had the outdoor arena pumping, at least then people would have an alternative place to dance.

The Freestylers were ok, although I was harping on. I was just looking forward to something that could have matched the stanton warriors or plump djs. They did at least rock the place and get the place moving. Then Kid Creme and Junior Jack played this sounds on sunday house that I really couldnt dance to after the freestylers, it was just such a change... They should get 2 stages and have more local talent playing.

THe night was saved by Mogaui... PLayed an UNREAL set, made my night worth the money. Its funny how one DJ can completely pull something out of the shit. You could just see the crowd come alive... the GLAM even smiled I think.

Anyways to all those people i met last night, it was really cool to meet and have a chat with you all. Papermate, hehe ok so we have met before, but it was really cool having a chat and getting to know you better. To all the other dudes who joined me for a early morning dance, that was the highlight. Melancholic/ Chaos/ aaron and co really put me in the best of moods.

Cheers

I agree with pretty much everything that Backo said... except that crazy shit about raves being more fun... That is just Whack man ;)

Planet Funk really changed the whole tempo of the night and you could really see the crowd thin out inside and start bulging outside... where there was no music... Chase the Sun wasn't bad, we all had a bit of a boogie to that, but the rest of the time... *sigh* and did they have to play the 'stuck in the UK' song 3 times? Or wait did they play it 2 times... meh Moguai played it once and I took that time out for a bathroom break...

Juniou Jack and Kid Creme weren't fantastic, but I had my dancing shoes on and was dancing anyway, freestylers were good, nothing special though and they have nothing on the Stanton Warriors, the Plump DJ's or Soul of Man... but hey thats just my personal preference :)

Moguai did really rip it up and save the night for me at the end :)

The company was indeed awesome :) Great to meet some new faces: Papermate, keystroke, bRaveheart1, diegoblunt, and also great to catch up with everyone else. All in all it was a good night, not fantastic, but it did the job :)

Have fun all you sketchy people ;)

CB :)

I had a pleasant enough time, the Hordern seems like a pretty good venue although I found myself feeling a bit lost in the absolute sea of humanity. It's ironic that when you have such a packed out venue full of people it's harder to sit down and strike up random conversations and meet new people than in smaller breaks events/rooms.

Still - The fact that wherever I turned there was a familiar face made this one enjoyable for me. And after waiting for Sneaky Sound System to finish their laid back lounge set I had a good dance. Still, not worth the full price of admission (which I didn't pay). Freestylers played a solid set with some popular tracks and I liked the first bit of Jnr Jack and Kid Creme before it got really tribal and repetitive. Didn't hang around for Planet Funk or Moguai.

Great too meet new faces and catch up with those I hadn't seen in a while.

Also... where was the funk? Would have been good if someone had dropped at least a couple of booty shakin' krafty-esque tracks into the mix.

WOW!!!!! that was mind blowing last night....

had high hopes for the night and it did live up to it, 10/10!
sneaky sound system were really funky got the crowd into the mood for kid kenobi i think was next and never let us down with a phat set. freesytlers...what can i say they fully blew my head off i love all there songs it was crazy made my night. junior jack, kid creme, moguai and planet funk were all very good and really got the crowd on a high the place was going insane. i was dancing down the front in the middle but it was just to hot so i danced my ass off up and the right hand near the stairs and just infront of the seating great stop cause it wasn't so hot and you were up high so you could see the crowd going off the atmosphere was just mind blowing. all in all great night great vibe great funky breaks and ofcourse the people were so friendly met so many cool people thanks funny for a 10/10 night can't wait for the next fuzzy event i will be there with bells on.

stay clean everyone

On a scale of 1 - 10 i give 360 a 7. How addictive is breaks though? It seems that in the last year, I just cant get enough of it - and the thing that facinates me the most are the people dancing. I really do have to take my hat off to Backo and Mirage, because those two boys are what i think are a small population of guys that can dance with such energy and funk but not look like an absoulte idiot.

You probably all saw the aparantly famous ''Home kid'' with his jumping around and turing of the hat. that was a little frustrating.

In regards to company - really great. Music, well as most people have said, Mogai was absolutely great. Everything before that was more or less a half hearted production if you ask me. Perhaps its because Planet Funk killed the momentum the first part of the night felt a bit overshadowed, how ever the last part did make up for a fair bit of lost ground.

Although I disagree with up_all_bight and Macksta about the breaks events not being held in such locations. The sound system was OK, the was enough room to dance most of the time (its always crowded down the front) and the ablity to be seated, but also have elevated views so to speak was great. For its purpose I think it was great.

I must admit that I felt like a bit of a hero going to work at 7am after too.

For me, it was a great night until Planet Funk came on. Definate mood killer for me. They play well as a band, but it was so out of place to have them play after Junior Jack & Kid Creme and before Moguai to a packed dancefloor of around 6,000 - 7,000. Some friends and I sat through their set, eagerly keeping track of their hour set. Returned to the middle of the dancefloor ready for Moguai (beneath those white balls hanging) only to be very shocked that Moguai didnt seem ready on time and that we had to indure their encore. Planet Funk decided to repeat two of the tracks they already played, 'Chase the Sun' & 'Stuck in the UK'. I was shocked by this, I don't expect this crap to be pulled at a high paying event. My guess was that Planet Funk had no more songs to play. CRAP band! My blood really boiled when Moguai decided to play his remix of 'Stuck in the UK'. Yes I heard that fucken song three times in the space of an hour and half. Not amused.

Moguai played well though. He has a unique electro tech sound. I really went off to Junior Jack & Kid Creme though. The sound system in there was awesome and the venue is great IMO.

I remember the HAT DANCER. Macksta wasnt too impressed when the hat dancer gave us a private show. Was good to say hello to some of you and to put a face to an avatar.

I think I am over big Fuzzy events though. Not enough thought goes into their music genre lineup. They should stick to maybe fewer music genres to allow banging dance music to flow.

Happy Easter :)

Ahhh, I think you should give the hat dancer a bit of a break. The dude is really really nice... and he at least shows alot of spirit... He always puts me in the right frame of mind, I think he goes alright man!

Gotta, say out of every single person I saw dancing, one guy just fuck off nailed everyone else and stood out so well. Macksta frigging blew the roof off the joint with his moves, haha got me to the point where i was trying to dance like him lol. Ive never seen him look as happy and as good as he did, but yeah Unreal moves man! I mean he always looks good, but 360 was something else=D

ok I got there at about 1 had a pretty good time. but although I like others thought that planet funk was on at the wrong time, i think that they were trying to have alot of diferent styles in the one room more like an original horden party. as nowdays it is all segregated,ie a house section or a breaks section. but overall I thought it was a good idea.

My night had ups and downs, but overall I suppose I had a good time. Firstly I think it was oversold, there was very little space outside, the toilet lines were dramatic, and it was often hard to find space to sit. The Horden, however, really is a good venue, because you can see the main stage from virtually anywhere in the arena, and being surrounded by seats there is usually ample seating (when the event isn't oversold).

I thought Planet Funk were totally out of place, and it annoyed me because I was really interested to hear their music. But after Kid Kenobi and the Freestylers, I was not in the mood for Stuck in the Fucking UK! Freestylers and Moguai were definately the highlight of the night.

Despite my ridiculous mood swinging, was great to be there with the people I was with. Anyone for wedges? Or a sausage roll? :D Was good to meet Papermate, and I think I met Braveheat as well.

Thanks to Backo, DJC, Chaos Butterfly, Papermate and LushPuppy for sticking around until the end, or near end. We had a good last boogie :) Plus, I do have to agree with Backo that Macksta is an incredible dancer, and it was also great to see that big grin on his face!

wtf, macksta danced? And smiled? Are we talking about the same person here???? lol
;P

I don't like the horden as a venue for dance events...or maybe I just don't like breaks events at night. Meh, either will do. It was great to see the place packed out, I hate seeing empty areas at events, it really detracts from the atmosphere imo. There was sufficient company to fill in the time that I spent avoiding the crappy music so it wasn't a total waste of money, but I wouldn't mind if fuzzy gave me a written apology and 1/2 price voucher for their next event to make up for making me listen to Sneaky Sound System and Planet Funk (I might bring some CDs with me in future and petition papers just in case).

On a brighter note:

It was great to meet you papermate, you're a dude! I can’t wait to hang out with you at the next big thing.

Special thanks to my gorgeous star_beats, your company always makes things better :)

As for everyone else, it was great to see you as usual and thanks for holding my night together, and for the boogies and chats, see you soon hopefully!

My brain feels like squishy!! :(

Overall i had a good night. Had better had worse.

I agree with everyone elses comments on the lineup, but i would like to add just how much i loved Aquasky and Masterblaster's set at the end!!! Lush^Puppy and I could quite classify it, but it was kinda like Uplifting Breaks or Happy Breaks, hehehe. Really got me pumped and alive again, which was bad considering i was dead tired by the end, but still, put a huge smile on my face. =D

Was great to meet soo many new faces, hopefully next time we can have a bit more of a chat. :)

I think i'm going to go into hibernation till Summer comes round again, when it comes to big events.

Kinda but not really, and it had chirpy female vocals at times. Either way, i'm never going to define it, i just liked it.

Meh... it wasn't a bad night but it wasn't anything to rave about either.

I think because i was so excited about it, it didn't live up to my expectations but... *shrugs* you get that

I had a good time and thoroughly enjoyed the company. :) Cheers to all of you :D

definitly agree with alot of the above comments thought, especially planet funk. err.... wtf?!?! not what i expected at all!

nevermind... 8)

it was an ok nite, i thought i was just imagining planet funk playing same songs over and over. superstylin was the high light for me.
there was a song i am trying 2 find.. does any one remember it?
"it was show me how" or "show me heaven" or something...

hmm finally got some proper time to spend on BL.. starting a new job after a massive weekend like that isn't always the best idea =D.

I had a pretty fun night! It was already a pretty big day what with being at wonderland in the sun and driving up form newie and all.

Not much i have to say hasn't already been said but i tend to agree with the general mood about the music - Sneaky and Planet Funk were utter gobshite for mine.. - Moguai - once again blew me away, Junior Jack & Kid Cr￾m played an awesome set + Aquaski vs Masterblaster kept me going at the end.

I'm also not a huge fan of chaos and no room to dance at breaks events and I'm thinking i prefer the intimate breaks nights.. but that's just me :) On the other hand having the raised seating area made for spectacular viewing and it seriously did look awesome.

Was stoked to have managed to pick out Keystroke out from the crowd out the front at the start of the night and hanging out with him as i think we were in similar head spaces! A big thanks to papermate for holding onto the ticket for me - the boy's got incredible style and is a total champ! and also all those that i met up with and chatted to during the night - esp diegoblunt who i spent ages ranting on to and also Chaos Butterfly. I should have chatted to more BL'ers but i think i was in a bit of a wierd headspace.

The only thing's I'm not too stoked about are that i didn't dance anywhere near as much as i would have normally would have as i think i was pretty tired from the previous week or so (not enough sleep + finishing up at my old job and having to make sure it worked and all the doco was in place + all that other mundane stuff + the wonderland thing) so i blame that!

ah well always next time! =D
