Does anyone have comments regarding my previous post?

Hello everyone,

I am here to talk about what I feel after about 2 months and half of suboxone use. I do not know what to say. I believe the ONLY good aspect of this drug is that I rarely have cravings, if someone brings up opiates etc. My mind does not automatically connect to previous using days or moments, and make start craving opiates.

Good to hear about the cravings. Id disagree and say I find more good aspects to suboxone, though.

As far as bowels I have stayed on literally 4mg, 2mg doses for both 1 week and 1/2 at a time, enough for the levels to go down to where the half-life would even out with my dose. Still hard to urinate at 4mg, but not 2mg I could urinate regularly. During these drops I experienced very little withdrawal, basically non noticeable to be honest, but done over 1 week 1/2 drops.

Ive never had difficulty peeing with suboxone, even at 12mg a day when I first started. And just like you, I experienced very little withdrawal (if any) when tapering down. I went from 12mg to 1mg extremely rapidly (matter of 2 or 3 weeks) and had no bad side effects. I do find when I take any less than 1mg, I dont feel fully better and also 1mg tends to only get me through about 14 hours, which is fine considering thats about how long Im awake during any given day, and sleep isnt so much of an issue when it wears off because the withdrawals are mild.

As far as bowels, since the first month on a steady 8mg a day, which still to this day unless you cut the pills in four quarters an 8mg will take basically one hour to dissolve and to receive all the bupe. Back to the bowels, taking 100mg of Docusate Sodium and 15mg Calcium sennosides, every morning, I still had heavy constipation. And certain times there was blood in the stool from just not going as regularly as I should be. Personally, I brought it up to two doctors which really brushed the comment aside?

I dont dissolve my pills, I snort them, so I cant comment on that, but about the constipation, I usually only shit two times a week, three at the most, and its been that way for 4 months now, since ive started (3 years if you count before I started) and its almost the same when I do shit as it was when I was using dope. It backs up and compacts, and bleeds when it finally does come out (which hurts like a mother fucker.)

Like I said in my other post earlier, let yourself go into withdrawals for a little bit and you will be able to shit. Lately Ive been trying to do this everyday, even if I shit very little, so that I can at least get some of it out. Taking your doses within 12 - 24 hours of eachother is just going to build up the levels in your system, due to the long half life, making it harder and harder to shit. At this point, Id say take your next dose and let it completely wear off, or wear off enough so you have the ability to go, then go, and then take your next dose. Not only will you be able to shit, but you will be able to save some pills for emergencies also.

And another note to the use of recreational suboxone, I do not really think there is such a thing unless you are totally opiate naive or taking this drug for the first couple weeks, BUT there is strange occurrence that does happen and I have talked with other users about this. Some days you will feel nothing off say any dose you take +8,4,2mg...other days...+8,4,2mg will get you completely stoned. Glossy eyes, energy, that "opiate feeling", but I would not call it a buzz.

I know exactly what you mean. I get it often. The main reason I wanted to get down to 1mg is for the anti-depressant effects I (and most others) get at that level. Honestly, I cant work without it. I work in lawn care, fertilizing lawns, so lots of walking is invovled and without that stimulation, I just couldnt do it. But to me, its more than just stimulation. Its a good mood, feeling of well being, body feels not buzzed but better than normal, which is a high enough for us who have the other option of being in withdrawals. My pupils actually get tiny too, which has a huge mental effect on opiate users.

So I dunno guys/gals something to think and discuss about, I think drug is still very new to people but seems like more and more people are getting on it. I am currently tapering off, but I kind of want to stay at a 1mg (can piss, shit, and do not feel high, which is what I did not want to feel in the first place) for a while because of the non-craving aspect. I really do not want to get back on dope but there is always that junkie mentality I would assume most of us have. And I have always liked the pure/clean aspect of having nothing in my body. Anyways take care to all.

My advice, definitley get down to 1mg. 1mg is where its at. Its perfect. And good luck. Im 4 months in with no intention of looking back. Its not worth it.

I also want to get off it eventually. It would be a huge relief to just be clean, in the real sense of being clean, not just clean from heroin.

Oh, and one more thing. On the days that the opiate "buzz", or whatever you want to call it does kick in. I find my personality changing into this irritable, rude, fuck the world type of guy, and people notice it, which isn't me. Just another side effect that pisses me off. Thanks again all!

Thats just opiates for you. Any opiate that had an effect on me made me irritable.

Because you are a major junky, and always take more of everything; in other words you have aquired a neccesity to basically be "put-out" . i mean you probably just have a massive opiate addiction. I would seriously try lowering your dose in taper-style until your down to 1/3 of an 8. Now if I feel like taking a whole 8 (to enhance weed or benzo-sleep) i take it in hourly intrevals and im still getting hot n' hansome after 1 year of no junk at all.

. . . i'd rather feel up than down and out.

Then why do I get higher (in an opiate-like way) when I take higher doses?

When I had no tolerance, 2mg would do nothing at all, but 8mg would make me warm, itchy, feeling incredibly good, stimulated than noddy, etc......
And now, more than 3 years after, when sometimes I lower my daily dosage to 1mg/day during 3 days, and then shoot a 8mg, I get a good opiate high.....

I snort it to avoid the taste of it (i have grown to hate it) higher bioavalability and it kicks in in 1/2 hour rather than 1 hour. I am rxed 8mg a day too but 4 works just the same. Less is more in the case of bupe which is rare in the case of opiate/oids. Suboxone saved my life (or at least put it on the right path)

Hello all, I was recently put on 8mg suboxone, once a day. I was 8 days clean off a 4 year daily heroin habit. The first couple days I dosed I personally had issues with the pill dissolving in my mouth, and still do to some extent. It takes a long time for it to dissolve (30mins-1hr) and it's hard to even tell if it is all dissolved I usually look in the mirror.

whoaa man. It takes about 10 mins (at most to dissolve).... not counting the worthless orange fluids in your mouth.

When the pill dissolves and theres a bit of powder that you can feel on the bottom of your mouth, just wait for that bit to absorb and you're set.

It definitely kicks in much faster than an hour, seems like 10 minutes tops (ha didn't even see that above FS), but I agree with the other parts. I didn't like suboxone nearly as much when I was in higher dose and I actually have felt better every time I've lowered my dose (slightly less than 2mg a day now). I never put more than .25 of a 2mg pill in my mouth at a time(never more than 2mg at a time on a higher dose), so it always dissolves really quickly. The taste would probably bother me more if I had it in my mouth dissolving for a while, but I normally enjoy the orange taste as I know it'll make me feel alright. :)

For anyone having difficulty with bowel movements, is your diet healthy (how much fiber are you taking in, fruits and vegetables?) and are you doing any exercise or anything else that would help stimulate them naturally?

How has everyone been sleeping on suboxone? I notice I need A LOT more sleep while I've been on suboxone. When I get tired at night, I'll sometimes feel very hazy and an enormous pressure to just lay down and close my eyes.

actually this ^^ is one of the funny aspects.

ok for instance. I have been suboxone free for like 4 days, but just got my script. I was starting to get sick, and then today I just decided since I have been without it so long to try and take a WHOLE 8 (omg omg!!! lol) I took it in halfs with many hours between. Now im high as hell, and i can't sleep. IM EVEN ITCHING AGAIN! its like a real opiate high !

less is more, don't flatten yourself, just have fun with suboxone, or become functional! don't shoot it up! plz i hate to hear this! even snorting i have never tried. the med works; plain and simple. those who would rather ruin themselves with the powerful addiction of methadone can do so. So far suboxone has been a godsend for me!

^ the problem is you arent waiting long enough. That is NOT going to happen if you give yourself enough time between using dope and shooting bupe.

I shoot suboxone on a daily basis too and never have that problem if I wait long enough since the last time I used dope.

I got grape flavored suboxone tabs, they come in prescored tabs of 4 pills,
32 mg bupe to 8 mg suboxone in the whole tab. Their purple and made of wax compounded with the suboxone. It was from a pharmacy in the chicago burbs. Don't know if its only there or if other places carry it. I hated the orange ones too.

i remember when i had no tolerance to opiates i let an 8mg dissolve under my tounge, i had extreme opiate effects with a tiny bit of euphoria. nothing like the good opiates. but i was on the verge of throwing up i was so messed up. 400-600 tramadol sounds like alot i think 700 is where it gets very dangerous and gets you close to seizureing? i could be wrong but look it up. also make sure your mouth is very moist and push your tounge down onto the pill. the suboxone book my doctor gave me says not to try to speed up how fast it dissolves. it says it wont work as good. just make sure your mouth is moist the book also says to have a drink of water before you dose. gl

What do you mean by the bold part? Just that these tabs have a total of 32mg compared to suboxones 8mg? Thats what I assume you mean.

Im really interested in these. I wish I could get them around here (Metro Detroit). Ive never heard of anyone around here getting them. Hopefully soon they make it my way, I hate these orange ones.

I have just been put on Bupe maintainance after 5-6 years heavy opiate use. My M.D. has me on 3 8mgs. (24 mg) per day. Should I ignore his advice and try to get by with less? Its hard, cause that junk brain says more is better. This is my first time with Bupe, although I've run the gamut on opiates in my area, from oxy to smack to dillies to morphine, etc...Whatever was available. My Dr. said because my tolerance is so high that I would most likely be on a dosage of between 24-32 mgs. per day. I guess my question is, is this usual, or am I throwing my money away taking the prescribed amount. By the way, I was in day 2 of wds. when I started, and was suprised by the rapid cessation of wd symptoms. I am in day 3 and feeling better than I have felt in a long time. The constant worry of running out of gear, getting sick, running game, I have pretty much lost a good part of my life because of my addiction, and I actually feel like I have a fighting chance at a somewhat normal life. Thanks for listening and any input.

^ The best advice anyone can give you is to go with the lowest possible dose that you feel comfortable at. Bupe isnt like every other opiate. More is NOT more. Less IS more. It seems weird, but its true. Its also pretty easy to get your dose lower pretty fast. I got mine from 12mg to 2mg in 2 weeks. My advice would be to try to get yours as low as possible too. You dont have to do it as fast as I did. Take your time, but definitley get it down. Theres no need to be taking 24mg a day. I bet you would be able to get by with 12mg, 16mg at the most.

As you have already noticed and pointed out, you have a great opportunity with bupe. Do everything you can to make the msot out of it. Its helped me a lot. If you ahve any other questions or anything, go ahead and PM me, Id be glad to help you out.

I took suboxone for 2 months 8mg orange ones once a day and had no withdrawl from my vicoprofen at all. I was on vicoprofen for 4 years or so.Now im going to see what happens when i stop the suboxone. I hope i dont have withdrawls, I'm on cymbaltra depacote, requip(which i havent tried yet for my ressless legg sydrom because it seem the cymbaltra took that way). For me cymbaltra has also lessen my leg pain down to almost nothing.WOOHOOO

^ Id get your dose lower before jumping off. 8mg is a pretty high dose to get off of. Try to get it down to at the most 2mg, more like .5mg or 1mg though. Im trying to get off suboxone right now and Im at about 2mg, somedays 4mg, and its tough. The withdrawals arent as bad as when I was trying to quit heroin cold turkey, but they still suck, plus they last longer. More like 5 - 7 days rather than 3 - 5 days. Whatever you decide to do, good luck.

Suboxone Maintence

So if you are completely clean from opitates "which i am" and i am still having intense cravings, and im currently enrolled in intensive out patient with 2ua's a week for 10 months, is it possible for me to get on suboxone maintence...

Also, should i bring this up with my physchaitrist or would this be a bad idea to bring up??

I have bad anxiety, which makes me want a quick fix to go use opiods.... and benzo's are not a option because my addiction history, would this work for cravings and is it possible to get on a maintence program.

Thanks everyone in advance

^ A psychiatrist wont be able to help you unless they are specially liscensed to prescribed suboxone, which is what a doctor must be in order to do so. Most of the time psychs' are not able to prescribed suboxone because its not really a field that they work in. A lot of suboxone docs are pain management doctors or family physicians.

You should have no problem going on suboxone. The only issue that you may run in to is that you havnt been in active addiction for a while, but most doctors dont care about that and will prescribe it to you if you feel you need it because you might relapse or just for the fact that staying sober without medication isnt working too well, so its more than likely that you will be able to go on it. Go to www.suboxone.com and find a doctor in your area that prescribes it. Let your outpatient program know that you are going to see this doctor to see what they have to say. They shouldnt have a problem with it. If they do have a problem with it, as long as it isnt a court ordered program, just look for another program that you can get in to that wont have an issue with you being on suboxone.

Suboxone does help with cravings a lot. Also, in low doses (1mg - 4mg) the anti-depressant effects are very pronounced so it should help with any drug related anxiety you have.

I ment my pills were 32 mg of bupe to 8 mg of naloxone, they get divided into 4 individual tabs, like old school methadone pills.

Suboxone-How long should I wait??

Hey all. I have a question. How long should I stop taking Suboxone before taking Oxycontin and being able to get high from them? Thanks!!

Did you only take a dose of suboxone or have you been taking it for several days?

I'd think anything under 48 hours would probably be a waste. Might even take longer than 48 hours, maybe closer to 72.
