Hello all, I was recently put on 8mg suboxone, once a day. I was 8 days clean off a 4 year daily heroin habit. The first couple days I dosed I personally had issues with the pill dissolving in my mouth, and still do to some extent. It takes a long time for it to dissolve (30mins-1hr) and it's hard to even tell if it is all dissolved I usually look in the mirror.

medicine cabinet another user told me to keep it under my tongue for about 1 hour or less after it dissolves, which I think helps absorb a lot of the buprenorphine in the juices/saliva built up in the mouth. I was just wondering if anyone on this forum that takes suboxone has creative ways to take the pill, crush it up and put it in the under (faster absorption ?), etc.

Now to another question/s I have, I talked with some using buddies that told me they had no opiates in there system at the time they snorted/shot the pill (Suboxone) and received effects from the buprenorphine. I personally have not snorted or shot the pill but was wondering if you do NOT have opiates in your system then you will feel the buprenorphine because it's the dominate opiate grabbing on to the receptor and not throwing anything off thus no precipitated withdrawal, correct?

I also was wondering if anyone here has used suboxone for 3-4 days then taken a break and went back on to achieve effects again? Personally I achieved and am still achieving effects but this is only my 7th day taking 8mg/once a day. The effects I personally receive happen about 2 hours after I take the pill. Smaller pupils, a sense of well being, energy, irritability, constipation, and some glowing / feeling of a small dose of 400-600 tramadol (I guess). I have also heard dosing in smaller amounts 2-4mg (suboxone) gives better effects?

I have heard for some people they do not feel anything (euphoria/opiate characteristics), and again I was put on the drug NOT in withdrawal so for everyone out there who thinks you need to be in withdrawal, and websites that say you need to be in withdrawal to go on the drug, that is bullshit at least in my situation my doctor wrote the script after I told him I was 8 days clean from all substances.

I don't know what else to say, this is a very interesting topic in my opinion, it is still a pretty new drug on the market (I believe it's been out 5 years?) that I think will be evolving rapidly over the years to come. Opiate addiction is rising fast and people are looking for ways to stop it other than recovery programs like AA/NA, and I just believe this forum has the potential with the amount of users/addicts/recovering addicts to discover further developments with this drug.

I always hated being a junkie near the end of using, and who knows I might tread down the path again, but I hope not. Now I personally feel lucky I am a junkie and now I am on such a groundbreaking drug that battles opiate addiction. You either need to be withdrawing or totally clean from opiates. Most people can't get themselves to the point of being completely free of opiates, so they only have to wait until the w/drawal starts to begin taking the sub. It has to do with how the buprenorphine works. Buprenorphine is a partial agonist, while the opiates that are more frequently abused are full agonists. Bupe is able to bind to opiate receptors much more strongly than other agonists, so if you give bupe to someone (who is dependent) and has agonists in their system, the bupe will kick the other drug off and force the person into a very intense withdrawal.

If you were off of them for 8 days, you no longer had any drug receptor bound, and you didn't get the precipitated withdrawal.

That is why I am asking if you are not dependent on any type of opiate, and you snort or shoot Suboxone you will experience a rush/high because the only thing that will be connecting to your receptors would be the buprenorphine (which I guess for some people does not produce pleasing effects) , but I have also read/heard if you try to snort/inject the pill the naxolone becomes active but sub lingually the naxolone does not work , correct me if I am wrong, thanks.
 
Yes, you do get a high. It's not the same as the typical opiate high, but some people find it more enjoyable than others. Lots of people starting maintenance are surprised that they do get some good feeling out of it.

The Naloxone does not work as it was intended to. The manufacturer thought that adding it to the drug would prevent iv use. This is because naloxone is not active if taken orally, so if the person took it by mouth as rx'd they would be fine while those who would dissolve it to shoot would get the full effects. They didn't realize or didn't advertise that buprenorphine has a higher affinity for the opiate receptors than naloxone does, so if there is a competition between the two, like there would be if you injected both at once, the bupe would win and the naloxone would have no effect.
 
I snort it everyday....it tastes too damn bad.
But I only take 2 mgs now.
I didnt snort it all the time when I was on higher doses.
 
Creative ways:

Rectal (my fav!)

and every other possible way to take anything.
Get it into your bloodstream... hell im sure you could devise a way to smoke it.

I wouldn't recommend it though.

I was on Suboxone until recently but I switched to methadone because it wasn't really working for me. I was getting terrible nausea (which I never got when I was using), was making me throw up every morning, I was also getting ulcers under my tongue from it, and I found that I had to keep raising my dose as it wasn't holding me. The two times that I started on Suboxone after being addicted to a full agonist I got on the medication within 24 hours of my last dose of a full opiate and I experienced no precipitated withdrawals.

I kept it under my tongue for about 20 minutes then I would spit it down a sink as I couldn't handle swallowing it. I was told by the nurses at the clinic I go to that the active ingredients are completely gone within 10-15 mins max.

I'm not a big fan of this medication personally, but it does seem to work well for a lot of people.
 
That is very interesting. I personally believe that the longer it stays in your mouth the more buprenorphine is absorbed (any published research? have not checked). And I also spit whatever accumulates in my mouth afterwards because swallowing the suboxone obviously has no effect. But I am sorry to hear it did not work for you mepat1111.

This is wrong. You are not supposed to swallow it - bupe has very poor oral bioavailability. You are supposed to keep it under your tongue and let it dissolve where it is absorbed by the veins there.

wat the fuck is the effects my <3 girlfriend<3 wants to try it to save them cuz shes got metal rods in her back and she can't always get pain killers and she is only perscribed ultracet..:p......soo would shaving subbies to snort be good and how much should she do???
 
does anyone know the procedure for plugging suboxone. i have been on suboxone for almost a year now and still GAG at the taste and am starting to not feel much of a high AT ALL. wondering if plugging it might change that. i take 3 a day.

any help?
 
crush it up and snort it . this is the way we do it in uk . there the biggest currency in jails nowadays. sniffing it is like do a tinith of shit hot browns. thats if your clean that is otherwise they just hold u
 
snorting subbies when ur not got a habit is like doing the cleanest purest strongest gear ever. it's almost like an opium state dream. but more of a gouch. i love when clean
 
crushing and snorting 24mg of suboxone is NEVER going to happen. and yea i've got a tolerance to them so snorting wouldn't do much anyway. no one can provide a simple procedure for plugging? i hear it works nicely but don't really know where to start.
 
How long should i wait to do some oxy after taking about 1mg of bupe this morning?
 
I hate questions like this. You are obviously new and probably struggling with sobriety (or you wouldn't be looking to abuse the pill). Put it under your tongue, keep your tongue pressed down on it and it will be gone in 10-15 mins. Shooting the pill can seriously fuck up your limbs (theres a whitepaper floating around here about the likelihood of such). Take it as it's meant to be taken or get back on the heroin. You won't find success getting sober if you are going to abuse the medication.
 
YES SMALLER DOSES = MORE PLEASANT HIGH!

i dose 2mg twice - three times a day. i notice that the naloxone DOES actually inhibit (i think the s0-called amateur wanable chemists are all wrong) and i trust my dr. and he says i will feel best if i take it in smaller doses. I am prescribed 16mg a day, but i only really need a half of an 8t at most.

i've been on suboxone for an entire year now and have no plans to quit. I feel better than ever, I am off heroin coke n' meth. i don't drink much, and i feel sicky when i smoke cigarrets. (THESE I CONSIDER ALL GOOD THINGS!)


I take three prescriptions and smoke weed daily. a small bit of suboxone and some weeed feels great. IF you are in ACTIVE withdrawals take a LOT of suboxone and then smoke weed.

i remember my withdrawals and they were awful, but i felt more alive in a way like i do now. taking too much suboxone just makes you really tired. a small amount is kinda stimulating, and a good mix with some adderall too.


I don't think ill ever quit suboxone. The last time I tried I just got sick to my stomach, had nightmares and depression, felt crappy etc... I'd rather just take a small dose of suboxone than have to be on some anti=depressants again!
