Can 5-6 month Daily Subutex use cause erectile dysfunction? Im on 4-6mg (snorted) and occasionally I will have a low dose of benzo on top, I do also go to the gym regularly (dunno if that can contribute towards the problem because of testosterone activity?, I do take Tribulus which is a legal supplement made for increasing testosterone levels)
iv never had trouble with getting erect until the last 2-3weeks, it simply doesn't not work and if it does only for a few seconds! it really saddens me as sex in a relation ship is important and I haven never had problems like this (infarct usually iv been a pretty horny bugger!) im 24 by the way...

PLEASE HELP! im really worried! could this be permanent!? will my libido come back if I get clean? which is my plan this Easter (proper detox at my local rehab clinic)

Yeah, I have been using high doses of opiates for around 6 years now with no real period of abstinence (maybe 3 weeks, at most). I was injecting 32mg/day of Subutex for about 4 years up until about a year ago, when I jumped off maintenance and got back on heroin. So, over the last year I have been using heroin, oxycodone (I need about 120mg of oxy to get a decent result), and Suboxone purchased on the street when I couldn't afford H, and I would usually buy an 8mg tablet and make four 2mg shots out of it. Generally that would last me two days, sometimes four. I usually have two 2mg shots of bupe throughout the day.

Knowing how much drugs cost in Australia, I'm shocked that you could afford a high dose heroin habit in Australia. I take it you had/have a lavish lifestyle?

Yeah, I know. It was a massive amount of bupe, both my ex and I were scripted 4x 8mg Subutex per day. We would mix up 32mg in the morning when I got back from the clinic, and split that into two shots, then we'd do the same again in the early-mid afternoon. Did that for about 4 years, and used heroin on top of that. We'd avoid dosing for a day or two before scoring H so it would be more effective without the bupe to contend with, even still it took a bucket load of smack to really punch through that high a tolerance to buprenorphine. In saying that, over that time period was when I got heavily into alprazolam and ended up with a massive habit - started out just trying to get decent sedation with Xanax, as gear was just too expensive to use and really ineffective whilst on such an enormous dose of bupe. It got to the point where I kept waking up in hospital with cuts and scrapes and bruises after having a tonic clonic seizure, and this would happen on the third day of not taking any kind of benzo, like clockwork. If it wasn't a hospital I was waking up in, it was a cell.

But around April 2012, my ex partner and I went to a rehab, and jumped cold turkey of 32mg of Subutex and like 30-50mg of Xanax. They did give us diazepam for the benzo withdrawal. I lasted 3 weeks before we got kicked out for using heroin. But I managed to knock the benzo habit on the head, and over the last year have been able to keep my opiate tolerance relatively low.

You're right about the price of drugs in Australia, not many people can maintain a heroin habit without resorting to crime, random earns, or earning decent money through some kind of gainful employment. I work in the IT industry as a systems engineer, so that pays pretty well, but I have been on a disability support pension for the last couple years so I certainly can't indulge like I used to. It's typically a $50/day deal to maintain a smack habit over here - it's ridiculous, I know. I envy all you folks in the US getting ECP for pocket change. I can't remember the last time I met a junky that used heroin exclusively every day in Australia without being on a maintenance program or buying methadone/bupe on the street.

You get resourceful quick when you start getting sick.

I would always try and get as much time between my last shot of bupe and when I injected heroin. Even not dosing the Subutex for 2-3 days the effects of the heroin were greatly diminished but we would have been injecting a gram of good rock heroin between us to get off. I find on doses of buprenorphine 4mg and lower, it isn't nearly as effective at blocking the effects of other opiates, than say 8mg+. I can use heroin after taking 2mg of bupe and still feel the gear pretty well.

Watch out with that tribulus... I used a product called the incredible bulk. Which is illegal now. And it can cause really jack your liver up. Cycle one month on and like 3 months off using a good liver supplement. I use liv. 52 as it's one of the BEST pro liver sups around. BE CAREFUL

Sounds like a dreadful waste of heroin... then again, injecting 32mg's of bupe is a dreadful waste of that too..
 
I went an entire 26 hours without Suboxone. I was in withdrawal for at least the last 14 hours (the first 7 hours were mild withdrawal, the next 7 were moderate withdrawal).

I'm incredibly proud of myself and I just did a shot, but I hope to go a long time before I do another one.

Heroin in itself is a waste of your life, energy, emotions, and happiness.

The best thing you can do with heroin is sell it for profit or get the fuck rid of it and never consider using it again.
 
congrats captain!! I know you've stated before and I remember it being super low but whats your daily iv dosage of sub?
 
does injecting suboxone make the blocker effect wear off faster? I'm getting some h and im on 4-8mg suboxone a day and I want to do some tomorrow afternoon. normally 4mg in the morning and i can get high on h in the evening. I know i.v. suboxone makes it last shorter, is it the same for the blocker?
 
i've recently started IV'ing my suboxone as I only have a few left.

I too would like to know if theres any science on the the half life of iv sub

I've tried to research it but only found 1 source of someone saying the IV halflife is 2.2 hours

I can dose one day then wake up in withdrawals the next day so I know the halflife is much shorter with IV than other ROA's but can anyone confirm that the iv half life is 2.2 hours?
 
I dont think 2.2 hours is correct. the halflife for sublingual is 24 hours iirc. if you are trying to stretch out the last bit you have i.v. isnt a good choice, I would recommend taking them as directed if you want to get the most out of them durationwise. when i I.V subs I usually feel the need to do it 3 times a day. my guess is 18 hour half life I.V.'d but remember the half life doesn't always equate the duration of effects.
 
How does the rectal bioavailability compare to nasal and IV? I usually insufflate my bupe, but I'm considering using it rectally instead, especially if rectal would be similar to IV (I've never tried IV, and I'm not considering it at this point).

My other question is which pattern of usage would be more likely to cause dependence: Taking 4 mg of buprenorphine all within a single day, or take 2 mg twice every week, spread out (say, 2 mg on Wednesday and 2 mg on Saturday)? My assumption is that the most important factor is the percentage of hours that the drug is binding to the receptors every week.

^^^^ would like to know as well.if you do it please share your experience. I've been rationing what I have left for the past 4 days (and have 6 days to go until re-up). Which is .50 MG's a day. Experiencing mild/moderate withdrawals and I'm looking for a way to get better absorbtion with the sub to tie me over u til my next refill at the pharm. I'm on 4mg a day after starting much higher over 2 years ago. haven't gone a day without suboxone so my system is pretty dependent. Has anyone experienced plugging by using a clear gel cap? I'm partial to shoving liquid up my ass in form of needle less syringe and the gel cap seems better to me. (I know, it's psychological and makes no real difference). ALSO how long do ya'll thinks it takes to
Your body to adjust to a lower dose of subs and by that I mean jumping from 4mg to .50mg (just in a rationing scenario)... 3,4,5,6,7+ days?

It is such a bad idea to bounce back and forth to sub and dope. Eventually the conversion back to sub
feels Like a bad acid trip and causes you discomfort even if you induce properly. Recently went from half a sub daily
To a Ball of skag a day for three weeks then 36 hr ET inducted buprenorphine and even at 36 hours the small
amount of tex I took still gave me minor precipitated withdrawals. It was if I became ultra sensitive and felt like some
overwhelming spiritual forces went to war inside of me over control of my soul...
I feel these were MINOR compared to other pw experiences..you keep abusing those pathways and you
Are cheating, there is no way to avoid the inevitable pain that comes with the elation of heroin.
I feel it is almost a shamanic experience and this last bout gave me a whole new perspective on the world,
And broke away some of my depression. Time to go pound the pavement for a job
Since yesterday I finally got an ID and took care of court issues..no longer stagnant.
There is a light at the end of the tunnel!
