Bupe Suboxone/Buprenorphine FAQ & Megathread v3; 2010 - 2022

At 96 hours since my last dose and it's a nightmare. I think I might have a virus though because I have a bad cough too so that night be making it worse. I smoked half a pack of cigs a day and haven't smoked in 4 days now.

I started at 8mg 2 months ago and within a month was down to 1mg and stopped at .5mg.

Day 3 started getting bad and it's worse today. All I have to take is Tylenol Benadryl and dxm. I've been able to eat two small meals a day no problem but don't feel like eating. This is Definately as bad as coming off a 6 week oxy or dilaudid binge using 160mg and 72mg a day.

Only thing that is strange is I usually get bad insomnia and rls but I haven't had either so far. I have been laying on the couch all day falling in and out of sleep. Finally able to go for a 30 minute walk today.

While I was on sub I managed to get in great shape running 10km every second day and alot of pushups and chinups everyday, Would be nice to be able to start working out again soon
That's awesome that you are spared the insomnia and the RLS.. IME, those are the worst symptoms of buprenorphine and methadone withdrawal, especially the insomnia. If you can somehow manage to not get those symptoms I'd be pretty envious of you, not to downplay your suffering, I'm sure it still sucks, but at least you can get some sleep. For me, opiate WD induced insomnia, especially from long acting opiates, can be really detrimental to my mental health. When I kicked methadone last time around, I had become so sleep deprived that I would go into states of delerium which is really horrible.. And I really couldn't sleep, for two weeks straight I might have been able to fall asleep for a total of one hour within that time. It eased up a little after that, but it took about 2 months for my sleep to become somewhat normal, and even when I started getting 5+hours/day, I would have really vivid nightmares.

It's hard not to go to the pharmacy to pick up my script when it's just waiting there. I pick up twice a week since I'm in Canada. The only motivation I have is that I start a 60 day 12hr a day shift working underground at a mine. I'd be screwed if I did that at work

i just started subs a few days ago to help stop a mild IV heroin habit. started taking 8mg a day 3 days ago and every day ive been so tired and looking doped out (eyes have big dark rings under them, look sunken in)

do you guys think this will stop once i get a lil more used to the bupe and the dope gets outta my system? is my dose too high? im really not tryna walk around looking like a junkie

Take less Suboxone, try 4mg instead.

I agree with Captain. You seem to be getting loaded on the bupe... so clearly your habit wasn't really big enough to warrant that dose. Take less and see how you feel. If you don't need bupe... don't take it because it just leads to even more problems.

thats correct, someone who has never been dependent on opiates before. How long will they have to take suboxone to become dependent on it?

ok. well that's sort of dissapointing, but I have only used it 3 days straight so far but I am going to take another mg or so in about an hour. And I don't take it sublingually, instead I take it intranasaly. I won't even be done with the whole 8mg strip until tomorrow morning and then I will quit for a while. The effects are definately different from other opiates but you can distincly feel that suboxone is indeed an opiate. Is the way suboxone makes you feel the same as the way buprenorphine alone makes one feel?

First of all, Suboxone is just a brand name for a particular formulation of buprenorphine that includes naloxone. And it's not technically an opiate.. it's a semi-synthetic opioid, but does have some opiate-like properties. So yes suboxone makes you feel the same way bupe alone makes you feel because it is the same chemical.

Yes, to elaborate, I have used identical dosages with the same ROA of Subutex (buprenorphine) and Suboxone (buprenorphine + naloxone), and I get identical effects.

I also knew someone else to take some Suboxone, and then to inject naloxone by itself IV, and it didn't reverse the effects at all.

How is it possible that they give identical effects when suboxone is only a partial agonist and (i assume) buprenorphine is a full agonist?

Best suboxone cocktails for all you pill coniseurs. First sub+xanax is the most obvious but still fun, just be careful and start small dose. Next is klonopin+sub, similar to xan but has longer effect and diff feel to it. The best one I found was soma+xanax+sub. Again you must go small dose with each as your looking fir cumulative effect. Be careful, if you a noob or low tolerence forget about it. These can all be fatal interaction if your taking tons of them or drinking with them. Most deaths are cause by mixing alcohol into the equation. Boose ruins any opiod high and will waste whatever your taking.

It took me 16mgs subingual sub(only about 30 % from absorption rates)for my first day from 6 day relapse to kill most of withdrawals...
When your habit is crazy large taking more sub up to 16 or 24 Definetly more is more up to a point also

My normal maintenance dose was 4-6;

.5 Xanax every 4 hours and vaped indica bud

Feel not too bad but I expect to take 2-3 days to feel much better

I still feel some very very minor Wds the first 72 hrs switching back to sub as body balances out tolerance

Wonder how I'll feel by Sunday
