did you check the metabolic interference chart from the Other Drugs directory? the mods in this forum have put a lot of effort into harm reduction archives
 
okay guys so I have a question.

I am getting some suboxone tomorrow. I have never taken it before and I have a very low tolerance to opiates (I havent taken any in months, and the last time I took opiates, it was 15mg hydro and I was feeling it pretty good).

So my question is how much should I take for my first time? I don't wanna be too fucked up to function, I just wanna feel it and feel it good.

And what would be the best method for doing it my first time? orally or sublingually or something else?

It's always best to start small. My friend with no tolerance snorted 4mg his first time as was puking for 24 hours straight. So I'd try taking no more than 1mg under the tongue and work your way up.

So do I just put the pill intact underneath my tongue and let it dissolve or what?

okay i understand not to use the entire pill. so say that I get 4mg and i only use a 1mg piece of it, do i crush that 1mg before i put it under my tongue or keep the 1mg intact?

I find that the powder gets mixed with the saliva more than the pill, which stays in direct contact for longer. before the remaining washes off in the saliva.
 
dunnlavitz, are you in WD? From your post it sounded like you don't have an OPIATE problem (which SUBOXONE was designed for). If it is for recreation then understood, but there are better meds for recreation use than SUBOXONE.

Also from what I know, they only come in 2 MG or 8 MG strengths, if you are prescribed 2 MG, break it in half and stick it near the big vein under your tongue. It will dissolve rather quickly, and keep the dissolved solution under your tongue for (I try at least 10 minutes) so it can be absorbed and then I swallow it.

Sublingual. 1mg is ideal. 1mg might be too much for some people, but just right for others.

I started out with 4mg the first time I tried subs without a tolerance, but it damn near burned the skin right off my face, literally.

It's amazingly strong with no tolerance, which can be great. I used to pay $20 for an 8mg which was so expensive, but it made me wrecked. It's too bad, would love to go back to those days. Now I can take 32mg of sub and not have that feeling, ah.... nostalgia.

holy cow i thought i had a huge stack of pills to take daily, i am surprised though with the atenol i was prescribed this before but it actually made me worst and not sleep but maybe with everything else it works. i take clonidine and vistiril i am usually pretty comfortable i can't take benzo's anymore , My insurance won't pay for suboxone and benzo's together so dr's dont prescrible them together where i am . Probably good for me though .
When you switched from shooting to snorting you said you didnt have any problems? I want to try to go sublingual again but like i said bit nervous.

Thats a gross mismanagement of the medical system, to allow insurance companies to presuade Dr's what they should and shouldn't prescibe.

I'm prescibed to benzo's and suboxone, but if my insurance didn't cover them together, I would just have insurance pay for the more expensive, then pay for the other myself, in this case I'd pay for the benzo's, because they are cheap as fuck compared to subs.

Interesting I wouldn't have thought that most people would need that much at that tolerance level.
When I had little to no tolerance .25 to .5 used for recreation would have me golden.
At the time I would use it sublingually with 6/7's method.
After quitting an Opana/Oxy habit cold turkey & giving it 3 weeks I broke down & did a little bit of bupe for recreation.
.5mg sublingual with 6/7's method had me feeling good to go.
Haven't done anything since but I guess that's irrelevant. :)
Apparently everyone reacts differently.
When my tolerance level was at 15mg hydrocodone 1mg of bupe would have been more than I needed for an enjoyable experience.
More than likely it would have been a higher dose than I would have enjoyed.
I guess that just goes to show as you stated that what is ideal for one person isn't necessarily right for someone else.

That's funny, because my insurance is billed the same amount of money for my benzos and Suboxone.

Some benzos are much cheaper than other ones.
 
i pay cash for my benzos for the price of a candybar and i get 150/month and could receive up to 450 3 months worth for that same candy bar price.. but im on the hospital apothicaries special program all my scripts cost around a candy bar and my subs since i switched from 2 to 1 a day i pay 25 under a bill. Im on 10 medications and i either get them free or mad cheap.. its good to be poor. not really :|
and i get my almost a grand a month zyprexa free from lovely eli lilly :)

I had one question about smoking cigarettes and constricting veins dosing on my SUBOXONE? I tried to search the forums but mostly resulted in actually smoking SUBOXONE (which I am not interested in).

Does anyone know if this is an issue with absorption of SUBOXONE and smoking cigarettes?

Although I find my Dr sketchy for forcing me to get my scripts filled at a pharmacy "only professionally associated" with, even though they touch buildings? It's actually a local pharmacy, and are pretty cheap. Luckily right now I only pay a few bucks per script, no matter what, otherwise it's like $6 for an 8mg of Suboxone, and the subs are like .2 x 1mg I think, not sure, but I was shocked when I saw my whole script was only a few bucks (if I didn't use insurance) when big pharmacies like CVS were charging a fortune. Plus this pharmacy gets a brand of klonopin which I find to be the best I've ever had, blue 1mg Sandoz - they don't disolve quickly like normal KPins, but I find they are stronger + faster inducing (could just be placebo, but the first time I took new brand wasn't even thinking about that)

If you smoked before you took the sub I could see that there could be some reduced absorbtion and you might swallow a bit more, because your mouth will be dried out, and if the veins restrict, might take a longer time to be absorbed.

That would be a minimal issue, and other than that I don't see any problems.
