i've been doing 8 to 16 mg IV every day for about 4 months i'm wondering how long it will take with me off bupe to feel the full effects of my norcos

It will take a good few days, i was doing the same with subutex iv for around the same time. Im 6'4 185 so im pretty skinny and drugs get out of my system well and it took me like 3 or 4 days to actually catch a nod and everything.

, Clonidine helped me immensely when cutting so low and i had one xanax everyday, now that is where it gets sticky for some people i have been addicted to xanax so i am kind of scared of it Try asking for clonidine , if you get a benzo ask for a slow acting one like Valium instead of fast acting ones like ativan or xanax.
try Imodium i heard great things about that for withdrawal Also make your self drink alot of water I know sounds simple but if your sweating you need to replenish yourself. Thanks for the helpful words. Today has actually been a slight bit better. I have a little bit of energy so I feel like I'm headed to that hyperactive state probably over the next 2-3 days. Then the weeks without sleep. But I can deal with that. I guess, at least for right now, it does seem that the withdrawal has been less than those on long term Subs. I'll report back later or tomorrow.

that depends a lot on how you metabolize bupe, and how many norco's your planning to take. 8-16 mg I.V is a HUGE dosage. close to the equivalant of 32 mg sublingual (if your taking 16 mg). I wouldn't even bother attempting this untill I had tapered much lower. I once stopped taking my 16mg sublingual suboxone for three days and then took 21mg of hydro, and it HARDLY worked. Even now, I only I.V .9 mg a day (I've gotten succesfully use to this dose!) and I wouldn't really bother with anything unless I had a lot of it, or if it was super potent.

You should try to taper, In the end it is really worth it, and it is easy untill you get down to 1 mg. For me going less than a mg was really hard, and even now, I'm only .1 less than 1mg. When you're at a low dose like this, I.V starts to work really well. I shoot no more than .2 mg at a time, and I get much better results than I ever did when I shot 2mg or up. Plus, you'll have an easier time breaking through this dosage if that's what you want to do.
 
DILATED EYES on 32 MG SUBOXONE daily

ANY ideas why I would have DILATED pupils, my pupils are HUGE - and it is making me uneasy? I have blue eyes - does this matter, I am taking my SUBOXONE (4 X 8 MG) as prescribed? I don't feel like I am in WD (and believe me I HAVE been through THEM - BAD - SO BAD that I couldn't move out of bed for ONE WEEK STRAIGHT, and PRAYED for DEATH (literally praying for to DIE)!).

I am so confused and before I posted this I DID a TON of research and it ALL appears to be a sympton of withdrawals.

I am on DAY 5 off of a 5 year OXYcodone 60MG x 8 daily (always taken as prescribed by my pain management doctor).

I was prescribed this for a serious motorcycle accident which basically left me with 2 broken hips, shattered right leg (metal bar holds right leg together), destroyed knee, destroyed collar bone, torn urethra, torn bladder, and other issues.

IF this has been asked elsewhere on BL I am sorry I could not find any other posts searching for it.

I was prescribed 32 MG SUBOXONE daily.
 
32mg is way too much for you, buprenorphine is spilling into other brain receptors, hence why your pupils are dilated.

Take 2mg of Suboxone at a time, up to 3 or 4 times a day. You should feel better and your eyes should look less dilated.

i have pretty much read from page one and that blunt is long gone however its not the drug but the situation itself i bounce between h and other opiates and subs pretty often and as long as i have 4mgs of sub 2 snort i am ok physically and more importantly mentally but nobody seems 2 b able 2 answer wether or not i actually lose potentcy by snorting it
 
Also besides you're taking way too much subs that are NEEDED, the first week I got onto suboxone my eyes were still dialated and I still felt other minor withdrawal symptoms. I think your body just needs time to adjust to the suboxone in your body..

Some people like snorting it, I don't. It's a personal preference.

groovy i see you got your answer i wish more people me included would have found blue light before i had started such a huge dose, i would feel crappy on twenty four mgs and think i needed more , even when i learned about not taking so much I talked to my doctor about it a yr ago and he said everyone who is on it should be on eighteen to twenty four mgs to start Now i seriously think he needs to learn more about sub or he is getting some fring benefits from the company that makes it

john 3434 i think the lack of sleep and hyperness is not just from sub but probably secondary withdrawal from your using so long , not sure how long you used but i know i couldnt sleep when i would get clean . Try learning good sleep hygeine and try to stay positive. Just one little hint or something i found when quitting benzo's i was so damm afraid of the withdrawal and i searched over and over , msged people in benzo groups and i would find the worst case scenario's and it was crazy i think that was worst that the withdrawal itself, Try your best not to focus on it find something you like to do or watch a movie or a tv series online instead of reading everybodies horror stories . I learned my lesson with that. If i need something i usually come in blue light and ask for help or use search and that is it. i wont go anyfurther because i get really nuts if i do that. goodluck

I JUST still have the 'MENTAL' need to pop a pill every hour or so, I hate that part, and I KNOW it is just my mind playing with me as I feel pretty darn good!

It's all good, we tend to put all the Suboxone posts in the Sub mega thread because it just fits well together. We have some "sub"-suboxone threads linked on the first page of this thread that are based on specific major subjects.

The horrible taste does suck, and I really got tired of puking daily. Really discouraging.

Glad to hear the positive results though! What are your plans, did you want to do a short term taper, or maintain for a while?

I know what you mean.

To help counteract that, you could take some NSAID's or diphenhydramine hcl/doxylamine succinate to potentiate the 2mg doses of Suboxone.

I think once you adjust to the 2mg doses you'll feel a ton better. I always felt like I "needed" more buprenorphine when I was on too much, but as it turned out for me too, less worked better.

Weed also has good synergy with Suboxone, I think it's the best way to help people get adjusted. Weed helps with appetite, sleep, and other stuff (weed will lower your BP, so it can help reduce hot/cold flashes for instance) - I think Suboxone + weed has helped me completely avoid heroin cravings. I don't think I ever would have "gotten over" craving heroin, if it wasn't for weed + Suboxone.

i cant believe i went from IVing .2-.5mg 4-6 times a day, to snorting 1.333mg 2 times a day.. big difference in ROA's .. put the needle and microns away well threw them out.. so i gave myself no choice. but i would think i would be snorting at least 4 times a day because of how many times i was shooting up. but i went from the needle 6x a day to snorting 2x a day.. so anything can be done. bupe is very easy to change doses/ROA's with.

..been on bupe 3 years, for anyone debating to quitting and getting on bupe DO IT suboxone really works (for most people anyway) just try it, or methadone (which i have also been on at 120mg, but i find suboxone superior even at a < 3mg dose per day) if you don't have the money for the treatment, just think of how much you're paying for your habit? but i know it's different because when you need to get money to get your high its a lot easier than trying to come up with money for a doctor bill or prescription.. but check out this thread:

The one thing I love about suboxone is I can still feel it even after 12 hours. even though I take 3 8mg's a day. I just wanted to show you guys my thread I dont know if you guys know about ketoconazole potenation of suboxone but theirs alot of evidence to back this up.

C.H., I plan to be on SUBOXONE for a while, I need to break my mental habits of that 'need for a pill'.

Its funny, I have been taking PM nighttime pills to sleep and 'thought' it made me feel more potent, it contains 'diphenhydramine hcl' and just figured it was a fluke or something.

oh and if you guys didnt read my thread I just think its important to show u guys something about saint johns wart. this is already on my other thread but just incase you guys didnt read it and are taking saint johns wart. saint johns wart is an inducer of the CYP34A liver enzyme which means it makes the drugs metabolize faster. heres a article on wikipedia i found, I know wikipedia isnt the best place for stuff. But they did source this particular paragraph

This results in the increased metabolism of those drugs, resulting in decreased concentration and clinical effect. St. John's wort also has been shown to cause drug interactions through the induction of the P-glycoprotein (P-gp) efflux transporter. Increased P-gp expression results in decreased absorption and increased clearance of those drugs which leads to lower clinical concentrations and efficacy.

this means you have to take more of the drug for an euphoric effect or painkilling effect. atleast thats what i believe but im not a pharmacoligist so dont take my word for it. but I dont think that any other antideppresants do this, I mean i dont think any SSRI's do this. I am not to sure about the other ones, just SSRI's , i am on 20 mg lexapro but have started reducing my dose because I wanna potentiate my suboxone with dxm again, after I read about the bad interactions with dxm and SSRI's I kicked myself for not finding this out sooner since I was mixing the two for over a year now. anyway No other antidepressants should effect the metabolism of suboxone, I am pretty sure about this because after reading about the problems with st johns wart(which i was taking for 2 months to pontentiate suboxone, or so I thought) I read up on interactions between SSRI's and suboxone and found that their was no interactions between the two, although i have heard of a slight increase in euphoria when mixed with lexapro. I have also heard that lexapro is the best SSRI when combined with suboxone atleast thats what the addiction psychiatrist said in a forum.

I update this thread basically every hour to one hour. ah man everclear really burns after u use it 3 times a day for ethanol potenation.


Oh and captain heroin and six point seven thanks for giving me a 30%-50% increase in euphoria and anagelsia for my subs :P I want you guys to have my babies.

oh and i edit my posts and threads all the time so u may wanna look at the same ones from time to time escpecially the ketoconazole thread
