Suboxone question

I did search, however couldnt find an answer to my specific dose. I have been taking 16mg of suboxone a day for the past week and a half. I just got my script filled for my duragesic 100mcg patches. I am wondering how long i have to wait before i use a patch. I was thinking 24 hours? I want to feel the full effects of the patch because i am in serious pain. I will be consuming the patch under my tongue. (they are gel watsons). Please get back to me if anyone knows. Also, does anyone know if my tolerance should drop since ive been off the patches since March 10. I used to need a patch and a half to get rreally high. Im hoping im down to one patch by now.

those patches have around 7mg of fent, if im not mistaken, 11mg is quite a lot if im not mistaken. id wait at least 36 hours between the bupe and fent as precipitated wd doesnt sound good. id test your tolerance out before you shove a patch and a half in your mouth though

1 patch=10mg of fentanyl. im gonna start with 3/4 of one and work my way up. Damn i was afraid id have to wait that long. I was planning on dosing at 8 am, 24 hrs after my last suboxone dose

u sure? i thought subs block fent. i dont wanna waste a patch

Fentanyl has a very strong affinity for mu opiate receptors. While I believe buprenorphine's affinity for these receptors is slightly higher, fentanyl does not have much trouble "breaking through", especially when on low doses of bupe.

In fact, I believe fentanyl is one of the few analgesics that will be administered to patients on bupe maintenance when they require additional pain medication. Just be careful with fentanyl, it is absurdly potent and has a very high incidence of respiratory depression. Don't make the mistake of thinking that because you are on bupe, the bupe will block much of the fent's effects, and therefore reason that you can take a high dose of fentanyl.

If anything, I would suggest you start with a lower dose then your normal dose of fent, because believe it or not, in cases like this bupe can actually have an additive effect with the fent, as opposed to blocking it. Good luck-DG

wow i didn't know that, thanks. I have a ridiculous tolerance, i will start with 5mg of fent then if all is good the other 5. Like i said im used to taking 15MG at once, which is unheard of with fentanyl

^Yeah man, now you see why we were all freaking out when you were posting those recommendations for the fentanyl gel patches all over! I'm glad you see now how high those doses you were talking about actually were!

yea i didnt realize how insane it was till everyone responded. 15 mg is enough to kill like 10 people, i need to be careful with this shit.

There's a version of Unisom with diphenhydramine hcl in it. I think the gelcap version. Just check the label before you buy it. :)

Well, my legs actually started hurting so bad I just ended up taking 800 mg ibuprofen for the pain. Woke up repeatedly during the night, though, so tonight I'm definitely going to CVS to pick up some Unisom.

It's been about 105 hours now; I still don't feel great but it's not even as bad as a full blown case of the flu. Basically just sweating a lot, restless, and a little achey. And unfortunately shitting a lot. Luckily I am still able to get work done.

Would it set me back at all if I were to take some loperamide?

wow-suboxone

Alright today my friend gave me 2 suboxone pills, i think it was 14 mg in total, idk, but i took them not really knowin what to expect, ive never really done opiates so my friend said that i should be able to reach a high on them, and now its 5 hours later, and all i can say is wow, it feels amazing, so can anyone tell me how long this lasts? i feel very rested and at peace, like i have no worries, very nice for my first time using opiates

Oxy binge and suboxone

I was heavy into oxy last year and did it every day for like 6 months. I managed to quit by tapering down last april. I went a few months clean but then started chipping again. No big deal- failrly low doses- ~40-50mg a day. But of course that turned into doing it every day for the last month and I realize its fucking stupid to be on this shit all the time and go through w/d again. Even at that low dose, w/d was pretty bad, especially at night.

I have like a piece of an 8 mg pill of suboxone that I've basically been scaping a little dust off (~0.1mg) and taking sublingually to keep the restless hands and legs away during the day and at night. I just take enough to feel better- I don't get high at all. I really hate how it makes me feel. Been doing this since last thursday.

How long can I use suboxone like that and not get even worse w/d?

Thanks

two suboxone pills is either 4mg, or 16mg.

They come in 2mg and 8mg per pill.

What ROA did you use, sublingual?

16mg should last a long while, but it varies person to person.

Man, that sounds like alot of bup for someone who's fairly opiate naive. But then again, everyone reacts differently to different dosages of drugs. One good thing about bup is that it's potential for respiratory depression isn't all that high. So I'll bet you'll be ok. If anything bad happens- you might end up puking for awhile. Hope your enjoyable experience continues.

thanks yeah its pretty awesome i especially like the nodding, it feels like im floating away kinda, its pretty peaceful, ive been dealing with alot of stress lately (kid on the way, workin 2 jobs) so its good to take a break from stress for a little bit

Did you just swallow the two pills? You probably could have achieved the same feeling from sniffing like 1/16th of one pill.

Hey everyone, introduced myself about a week ago and found out I took this random name I thought up and managed to copy a mod. Anyhow, I've been addicted to opiates for years now (oxycontin the whole time, prefer it to heroin). My problem is I keep relapsing even after rehabs and whatnot. I don't get bad withdrawals cause I haven't had money to support my habit regularly. However, without needing to pawn or do favors, I just started working again and my checks will be enough to get back on that ride to hell. I dunno, I've tried really hard but I just can't hack it on my own. Oh BTW, also even after a few days off or a week it takes a few 80's to feel good (just to give you an idea of where my tolerance and addiction is at).
Now with my background in mind, I decided (after talking to my parents) that going on suboxone for a little while till I can handle having money and living normally would help me adapt. However, I am aware that (from what I understand) doctors want you to be in withdrawal when you show up. My appointment is next week with the Sub DR and I'll probably use if I can. I don't want to have to do my usual grimy business and get high for a few days so I can show withdrawal symptoms. Any suggestions, advice, or experiences people can share for what they think will work? It'd be greatly appreciated, thank you. I'd rather not have to get high for some help to put cravings aside through medication and the knowledge I couldn't get high if I wanted to. I've bought Sub many times before from the street and know how well it works for me without getting me high in any way.

PS. I know there is a giant bupe thread but I figured this warranted a different thread as it is a unique situation. Muchas gracias muchachos :\
sorry but you're not going to get prescribed sub unless you're in rebound/withdrawal because it is an opiate that maintains you when you have a dependence

in an ideal world where drugs were legal, you could purchase a few hits of subox at the local recreational drugs store. as it is, though, if you want sub prescribed from a doc you'll have to relapse for a bit so that your body shows rebound signs on cessation*. they only prescribe it to keep addicts from being sick, not to keep from having cravings

in fact, you don't wanna know how they cure cravings :p (naloxone pellet)

* there's a chart (which i am too lazy to find) on bluelight that shows how they score your withdrawal symptoms. each symptom has a corresponding number. eg hands shakiness 1,2,3,4. add up each symptom and if the number is above a certain level you are medically "in w/d". i suppose you could attempt to cheat the chart, but i wouldn't reccomend it. it's a bad idea, especially since you'd need drugs to alter those vital signs, and they pee test you
