i also iv my subs and am down to .5mg a shot and shoot about 4 times a day.. im planning on lowering to get to CH's level but it seems harder for me than it did for him.. anything less than .5mg/500mcg doesn't make me feel any better (especially when i get up in the morning).. so im gonna keep my morning dose at 500mcg and drop my other doses during the day to 400mcg and then drop morning dose to 400mcg after a week or so.. then let myself stabilize. and then keep morning dose at 400mcg, and drop daytime doses to 300mcg and eventually move my morning dose down to that also and let myself stabilize. and continue until i feel im as low as i can go. for some reason i dont think ill be able to get to 100mcg. but i have all the time i need so anything can happen. btw i find iving to be the best way to take subs IMO (micron filtered of course) i make 1mg per ml/cc solutions in a 30ml/cc vial every week or two. i find the whole process fun to do actually.
Micron filtering is fun!

I'm glad you're finding tapering possible. It took me a while to get to where I am now, but it is doable.
Good luck with the taper man! Keep us updated. For the moment I have stopped tapering because I have gotten to a point in my life where I have a lot of issues to deal with and I'm not sure what I'm facing. I want to make sure I don't go off the deep end in any literal or figurative way. So at the moment I am stabilizing on my dose still.
You may not think you can go to 100mcg, but if you take your time (it may take days, months, or years, I've been doing this for over a whole year now to get to where I am today) it should be a pretty comfortable process. Minus a few days here or there that I was unable to IV, I had a very comfortable tapering process.
I started at a point where I woke up with moderate withdrawal symptoms every day, and now I'm at a point where I wake up with light (sometimes few if any) withdrawal symptoms. I'm really glad I did taper (albeit slowly, over time) because I can't imagine waking up as sick as I used to be anymore. I'm really glad that I have stopped using overall, buprenorphine is a great recovery tool.

You guys are fuckin hardcore man, LOL at iving with the 22g you would bleed to death, ok if your veins were like rope, young geezer please pm me (I'm not a stalker).
For your information, no one would IV with a 22g. That would be difficult, if not impossible.
22g needle tips are used for micron filtering. I know most of you all (even if you do inject) don't micron filter, so I don't expect you to understand the process (even though I have posted the method including pictures in its own thread, so you can see exactly what the 22g needle tips are used for - and they're not for IVing 8)).
I only use 31g needle tips for IVing.
Sorry for the delay in replying, I've been busy & hadn't had a chance to get back to you.
I've used suboxone for all the reasons you listed actually.
Well now I mostly use it as a tide me over when I don't have other opiates.
I have had back pain for about a year or so and abdominal pain for 6 months plus.
Due to my lack of insurance and a few other factors I began self medicating with opiates.
12 G's in medical testing that I luckily (after much stress & finagling) got covered by the hospital & not finding answers being one of them.
I continue to do so, as without opiates my quality of life due to said pain is not what I would like it to be.
Eventually I would like to get insurance, proper medical treatment and/or prescriptions that I feel I need.
Sadly that is not possible at this moment in time.
Now, considering the time frame I listed, you can probably guess that by now I'm physically dependent.
I also have definite psychological based cravings as well.
This might be due to the fact I've had depression/anxiety issues since I was a child.
The mental effects of opiates obviously also greatly appeal to me as a result.
So to better answer your question my most common use of Suboxone now is to stave off w/d when I'm out of my DOC.
However, some days I use it rather than my DOC if I'm looking for the different effects suboxone provides or for it's duration.
Due to the fact I've kept my tolerance at a level that is relatively low considering duration of use (IMHO anyways),
I still get most of the euphoria, anti-depressant and other beneficial effects from low dose suboxone.
So overall I find it to be a versatile substance with a multitude of uses.
As such I use it for various reasons outside of my most common one.
Sorry if the reply is a bit long winded but I figured the information posted would help explain my answer & thanks for asking.
I'm really sorry to hear about your back and abdominal pain! You have no idea why you're in pain? Even after extensive testing? I am so sorry! That's rather unfortunate.
Buprenorphine does have many great uses, and I'm glad it works out well for you. I'm primarily using buprenorphine for maintenance, tapering, and getting high (since heroin did not work out for me - obviously). Buprenorphine does have some analgesic properties. It's not something that enables people to be fully without pain (unless your pain is limited I guess) but it sure does help take the edge off.
Take care Industrial Strength!
