I'm sorry 6/7 but I have to disagree with you.
He's wrong.
Kids get high on anything - DXM via cold remedies that have other active ingredients, not to mention kids who get high on freon.
If you think suboxone's going to be an epidemic in this country, I doubt it. It's been around for quite some time, and there's a reason that it's not an epidemic now. People PREFER mu-agnoists for A REAL HIGH.
"Kids" will get high on anything because they're 1) Young, 2) Ignorant, and 3) Impressionable.
I'm sure if you told enough children you can IV benadryl, there'll be a mother fucker who will go out and do that in an attempt to "get high".
If the FDA/DEA realize they got duped, then GOOD, because people are going to be abusing drugs anyways. If you try to safeguard buprenorphine, then people will abuse OC's. If you try to safe guard those, people will move onto Fentanyl. There's NO STOPPING DRUG ABUSE.
I can understand that someone's going to want to protect bluelight by limiting posts about abusing suboxone.
But why?
We have threads here on how to snort, slam, skin pop, smoke, or swallow ANY DRUG here.
Why is suboxone such a big deal?
Isn't snorting a 80mg OxyContin worse in the eyes of people than using suboxone via ANY ROA? It's because people are "getting high". If you tell them even if people IV suboxone, that they won't get high, THEY'RE PLEASED YOU TOLD THEM A HAPPY LITTLE LIE FOR THEIR SORRY LITTLE ASS TO BELIEVE IN, so they don't have to know the horrible truth ABOUT THEIR OWN CHILDREN ABUSING DRUGS.
That's what it comes down to.
I really like my compassionate, caring Sub doc whom I see once a month as well as the nurse practitioner and the counselor I see weekly, as they’ve been an immense help. And I really, really like picking up a 30 day supply of Suboxone at Costco just as I would any other med. I do NOT want to wake up at 5am to wait in line at a methadone clinic; I’ve worked at one, and it was not as nice as where I see my Sub doc.
Please. Don’t.
What are you wining about?
There's a world-wide epidemic of IV suboxone abuse...do you think our worthless bluelight posts mean anything when compared to journal articles which entail the European epidemic?
Do you think the FDA/DEA cares they got duped? Do you think they weren't in on it like the drug companies were?
Maybe "98%" of this country are conservative because people like you don't vote?
Plus, it's in the guidelines, if you don't like it...sorry.
The government isn't going to like watching all the people on suboxone go back to shooting heroin. Suboxone has been nothing but a victory for the WoD, do you think these neo-cons are going to want heroin dealers to win because they're afraid of the needle?
The government would rather have people IV suboxone versus IV heroin, or even use heroin with any ROA.
If the FDA/DEA doesn't like the harsh reality, sorry. But the thing is, if people get to continuously post retarded threads like "phenobarb...can i bang?" or "how to IV methylphenidate??" then where's the point in limiting discussion on suboxone?
The thing is, the FDA/DEA knows the truth, and if they don't then it's underneath their noses and it's only a matter of time until they look down at their feet.
Trust me, you're not the first to bring it up, and you won't be the last. I never said it's fair, but it's just to protect Suboxone and discourage anything that will make it harder for the people who need it to get it.
People already have it out for any opiate as is, if you thinkt his way it's only a matter of time.
But as long as things like abusable fentanyl patches are still on the market, WHY are you even concerned about suboxone?
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I want everyone to ask themselves a question.
Why do you think the government is allowing all of this to happen? Do you really think they're all so stupid they have no idea what we're all up to? OF COURSE THEY DO. But the thing is, suboxone is not a typical mu-agonist with the classical tolerance-building aspect of the mu subtype 2 receptor. The government REALLY WOULD rather have you IVing a pill THEY sell you than IVing (OR snorting OR smoking OR eating) any mu-agonist opiate that you have without a prescription (illicitly acquired opiates).
Why do you think we even have a war on drugs? If the government would rather have you shooting heroin, they wouldn't be pushing suboxone on you via a doctor.
Is anyone else in the dark about why suboxone is so prevalent? Has anyone else figured out that heroin is the #1 drug the US has had trouble keeping out of the country? Does anyone else realize the US government will NEVER make suboxone available only through daily clinics because then people would go back to heroin and that's NOT what the point of the WoD is about?
I mean, can I get a DUHHHHH?
