Could anyone here do an ultra rapid detox? The patient has 6 8mg combo tabs (Suboxone and has taken his last 12 hours ago). The patient takes 8mg everyday and must hit zero as painfully as possible, after almost 1 year on the drug(!). Is there anyway for the patient to taper and try to survive!

If benzos are needed please indicate when/where in the taper! If other drugs are necessary please state why... This is obnoxious I know but I don't know where else to ask.

Fucked for life sounds about right....,but I was hoping that someone has done a "dead man's drop" from 8mg down to zero mg....but it appears that maybe that is not the case.

Clean for how long?

I've gotten clean after tapering off suboxone a number of times. Sure I envitably do heroin again, do enough where I can't stop, start taking suboxone, and do it all over again, but I can get clean.

Staying clean for good only has to stick just once.

Probably took too much. Buprenorphrine is very strong, especially if you don't have a tolerance.

Do you have pills that say N2 or N8 on them?

It's a octogon pill that has a N8 on them, what the hell does that mean? How much am I supposed to take to get high?
I wish its as simple as a ecstasy pill where I pop or snort and I'm rolling for sure. Too bad those pills lost their magic, and I gotto get high off something else.

How can you get addicted to something if its taken to get unaddicted to another drug? can't you take another drug to get unaddicted to this drug?

It's still an opiod, it justs acts as a substitute for addicts.

The N8 pills mean you have the 8mg suboxone pills and if you took half, then you took 4mg.

If you don't have any opiate tolerance, I'm recommend splitting the halves into quarters, and then splitting the quarters in half, so you have 1mg pieces. I wouldn't start at more than 1mg and might even suggest starting lower (0.5mg) and seeing how you feel after a little bit.

I just moved back home from Miami to NY. . .and lost my Oxy connect. I came across a friend who is recovering from a real bad oxy habit and has a bunch of 8mg Suboxone. I've never taken 'em before, but he gave me 5 and I popped two. Six beers and maybe 3 hours later I was higher than a kite. I feel like I ate a ton of hydros. Just wondering why I've read so many posts of people claiming you cannot get high of these things (with or without an opiate tolerance) . I had a mild Oxy habit of maybe 160mg a week?

I just moved back home from Miami to NY. . .and lost my Oxy connect. I came across a friend who is recovering from a real bad oxy habit and has a bunch of 8mg Suboxone. I've never taken 'em before, but he gave me 5 and I popped two. Six beers and maybe 3 hours later I was higher than a kite. I feel like I ate a ton of hydros. Just wondering why I've read so many posts of people claiming you cannot get high of these things (with or without an opiate tolerance) . I had a mild Oxy habit of maybe 160mg a week?

160mg a week? i wouldnt even call that mild.

but anyways....

suboxone can make u high. Its an opioid. Its just a little different. partial agonist/antogonist. Its an opioid but not like ur typical opioid. Its mechanism is a little different. The reason people dont get high on it is because they are not raising there doses. If your oxy dose wasnt working anymore, ur take more to make yourself higher right? well when ur on sub, the purpose is to lower the dose. By lowering your dose, your prob not gonna get high? its a pretty simple concept.

ive been on sub for 7 months. Mainly 4mg a day and just tapered down to 2mg. it doesnt get me high, but it gives me a nice energy and acts somewhat of an antidepressant for me. I like it, it doesnt make me "high" but i def notice its effects.

I snorted 1/2 a pill and was supposed to catch a buzz. 15 minutes later I got really nauseated and puked TWO times!

Is this drug supposed to make you puke? Whats wrong with this drug???
I just wanted to get high!!

Subs don't really give a euphoria...idk if they do if you don't have a tolerance, but if you are using them for maintenance and are expecting a heroin/oxy type euphoria, it's not going to happen. Bupe gives me some motivation, makes me slightly happier probably, but that it different from euphoria.

As for why what time you dose has to do with it, subs can take awhile to work for some people. I feel the effects pretty quickly, but I know many say it doesn't hit them for like 100 minutes. If it hasn't been that long, wait longer; if it has been, perhaps you need a larger dose.

I have no idea why you would have to go to the bathroom after every dose though...a couple days on bupe stuffs me up like crazy.

I have no idea what your history is with opioids, or more specifically, with buprenorphine. And if this is the first time you've ever taken Suboxone, you may not completely know what you're doing.

If you had just taken your very first dose of Suboxone two hours from the time I posed that question to you, then it is quite possible that you were experiencing some precipitated withdrawals.

On the other hand, if it had been closer to 24 hours, I would suspect you simply didn't take enough. This quite often happens when people are unfamiliar with administering medications sublingually. Buprenorphine is much more effect sublingually than it is orally, and many first-timers end up swallowing much more than they absorb sublingually.

And when someone asks why the amount of time that has passed since taking their dose would matter when they are experiencing unwanted effects, I can't help but think that this person must be doing some wrong.

Personally? I don't know how any addict, nor an addict on Bluelight can take Subs, and NOT know what/how/why, but then I started thinking...hell, w/o

Oh please - you did not have a habit then.

I used subs to get clean from heroin - they worked for me - but it still was a fight (currently 1 year+ opiate free - perviously 5 year heroin addiction - still dream about the fucking stuff)

I didnt really get 'high' from them (subs), they just stopped me from feeling sick - but isnt that feeling of not being sick like a 'high' in itself.

then again i didnt get 'high' from heroin (when i was addicted) i was just using it to stop being sick. - save the binge days.

I wouldnt fuck arround with this drug trying to constanly get high - just having 'fun' - when not having a real physical addiction to opiates. suboxone builds up in your body like crazy - you will quickly find you have a REAL habit - which you dont want

so i am glad to say that i started on my first dose of suboxone today after scoring a 'seven' (for mild withdrawal) on the examination they give (name?) at my certified subox treatment office in connecticut. i have taken 8 MG today and feel pretty good, actually. i was quite surprised that there is a bit of euphoria involved in the first effects you feel, but it is almost a tease because it feels like i am so close to being 'high' but it never gives me that full pleasure of the full agonist (ceiling effect?). one thing i did notice is i still crave to get high on my oxy so much, and my understanding is it would eventually sort of phase out those pain in the ass feelings. i was wondering if after, maybe a week, of daily use if maybe my cravings will start to subside? what are your personal results as far as cravings with this drug?

also my stomach was sort of a wreck all day. no vomiting or runs, just more of a generally bloated or gurgling mess kind of thing. is there anything in my diet i can change to ease this up or will it just take time to heal it?

besides that, i think it is great and i already feel very optimistic about this huge step to sobriety, even if it is a long road ahead. thanks for reading and responding.

Impossible to say when the cravings will subdue.. its so individual.
It can take a week, a month or six months for that matter.

Just hang in there, it WILL get better with time!
