Keep crushed up suboxone near by in case of an OD. I swear. Listen...

Just recently I had to take care of someone who OD'ed and went unconcious. I crushed up a quarter of 8mg (2mg) suboxone pill and placed the powder under their tounge. They were breathing very slightly and had a pulse but I was giving CPR for the next 15 minutes in the backseat of the car while driving to the hospital (the hospital is seriously 5 blocks away from where we were, which was the dope spot, which means we couldnt call 911) in hopes it would wake them up, but it wasnt working, then all of a sudden, when I was gathering breath of my own (I was actually on the brink of an OD, the heroin was much better than we had originally thought, so I was struggling to stay awake too) they snapped out of it. The opened their eyes and sat up as if nothing happened. They were breathing fine and had no trouble staying awake from that point on. It was amazing, but I would bet my life that it was the naloxone and quite possibly the buprenorphine in the suboxone that reversed it.

i didnt see that, but thanks for posting. well i think it should be added to the main post, but i was just curious to see if it actually does work, and it sounds like it does. so mods should update it

post it in the thread, it will get read. it was already discussed, its possible. but not really the smart thing to give someone od'ing more drugs. just call 911. but like i said, post it in there, if it becomes know that it is an option that is safe, as this is a harm reduction site, itll become added. but right now, no one has brought the info to say either way.

new suboxone script, suboxone cieling effect 24-32mg, doc says it's 8 mg?!

i just got on suboxone and during a meeting with the psychiatrist said the ceiling effect of bupe is 8mg

obviously this is not true, many bluelighters of us know our bupe chemistry and know this is just a stupid statement

what should i do?

i went red in the face trying to prove to him he was wrong but he just hasn't had it

what should/can i do?!?!

this is horrrrrrrrrible

finally on bupe and getting off opioids for good and the doc is nuuuuuuuuuts:X

Well chances are he's telling you this so you dont try to take more than hes telling you to take at one time.

But for him to straight up lie to you ( I have a hard time believing he doesn't know the ceiling dose of box, its fairly common knowledge) is fucked, and makes you wonder what else he might try to pull, I mean you're paying TOP dollar for this shit (trust me I know, I'm paying for this shit myself right now) and hes got the nerve to fucking lie to you about this.

My advice......if its at all possable find a new suboxone clinic(i know they're kind of difficult to find). Which brings me to another point, he may be treating you like a retard knowing damn well hes the only box clinic within so many miles. Its fucked bro, your doc is lying to you, thats seriously fucked, you put your well-being in this man's hands and hes fucking you around.

Best of luck my friend.

EDIT: durr I cant spell :)

You're not going to change the doctor's mind. Be happy with 8mg max, or find a different doctor. I was doing around a bundle a day of quality NE US dope IV, and 8mg/day is more than enough to get me by. Actually, before I actually found a doctor to treat me, I started taking 2mg/day of suboxone, and even that was enough to hold me.

Different people react differently to suboxone, but you're not going to get high off it, so try to maintain on the lowest dose you can. The higher you go, the harder it will be to get off, and the more side effects you're going to get. If 8mg won't hold you (after being on it a few days - you're not going to feel perfect the first day), you either have an insanely high tolerance, or you're kidding yourself about how much bupe it takes to hold you.

CT, I beg to differ, you are able to get high off box.

Granted my opiate addiction was not to heroin, it was to OC, and my tolerance wasnt insanely high, (40mg's will get me high), but I am able to get high off my suboxone if I WANT to, but I what mean by that is I double my dose, and I DO get high for about 2 or 3 hours. The only problem when I do that is I get VERY drowsy.

anywho, good luck with your problem my friend

^the reason you can get high on bupe is because your tolerance is low. but to the TC, you really really really don't want to be on a high dose of suboxone anyways. it's not necessary. i am on the real ceiling dose which is 32 mgs and it's a bitch, and i am more addicted to suboxone than i ever was heroin and i had a 400 dollar a day habit just to get off. 8 mgs is MORE than enough. i know you are pissed at your doctor but he's actually doing you a favor. trust me on this.

ps if you want to get the most out of your subs and don't want to IV(bad idea) get your suboxone made into suppositories. that's what I do and i can sometimes achieve an extremely mild buzz. but it's a huge difference from squirting liquid up my ass, cause i did that for months and the real suppositories are sooooo much better. /end tangent. good luck

Ok let me clarify. If you're on suboxone maintenance, you're not going to get high off it. You may get some effect for the first few days, but once you're on it for an extended period of time, you could take 4x your usual dose and not get high off it.

i won.

ps: can someone answer my question a few posts up?

^ My suboxone doctor gives me benzos and somas. I can't speak for your doctor. A "good" doctor wouldn't give any other CNS depressants with suboxone, but some certainly do. In fact, some go very, very far, prescribing lots of things that shouldn't be prescribed to a self-confessed addict (such as my doctor).

In the end, if you want to get something for sleep, it would be best to get it from your suboxone doctor, as he would know the most about your situation and the combination. If he won't comply, try your general practitioner - but make sure you don't cross your suboxone doctor. If you get it from the other doctor, you'll either need to tell your sub doctor and hope he's cool with it, or hide it from him well. :\

word, im gonna talk to him on friday, when i first went in, dude was more than happy to take my money and write me a script. he gave me 14 for a week, to see if i want 8 or 16mg a day, i take 8, when i went back for 2nd appt he asked if i wanted 8 or 16, i said 16, im still getting the 16 so i have a supply if need be. seems pretty lenient to me. im hoping for a long halflife benzo like k-pins

edit: thank you for your answer.

In the prescribing information for suboxone it says "thou shalt not combine with benzodiazepines," but of the two suboxone doctors I know (mine and my friends), they're two for two in scripting a few types of benzos, somas, ambien, tramadol, fucking chloral hydrate 8o, and probably something else I'm forgetting. I guess my friend and I go to the most retarded suboxone doctors ever. =D

just show him a study that found it to be at 32mg.

its crazy

i actually went to www.suboxone.com in his office and showed him the study and he said it was because drug manufacturers want you to be on the most of their medicine so they can make the most money (which i believe is partly true) ... but it was just insane how he would not hear it, he would not budge, crazzzy

but to you guys that posted about 8 mg being enough, i deffinetly agree, i want to take only enough to hold me, it was just the principle of the thing

random question : i noticed a white spec on my suboxone pill, are they white underneath? it was weird to see that spec and just made me think...

a side note : im on 3 mg of clonazepam a day
and 300 mg of lyrica a day
with baclofen and zanoflex as needed

im pretty sure id be cool with taking all those, i have a pretty high tolerance, i took them as usual today and it was fine, idk about long term though and how it can affect the body, i know quite a bit of the pharmacology of it, (bupe has one of the lowest depression rates out of all the opioids) so im guessing the answer is no, its just a small doubt in my mind... just seeing what you guys had to say about the issues

the replys are most appreciated guys:)

With my doctor, he starts everyone at 8mg 2 x daily. I have had a couple of friends who go to the same doctor tell him 16mgs a day wasn't enough and they still had wd symptoms. He gave one of them 3 x 8mgs a day, and the other one who complained twice got 8 mgs 4x/day. If he thinks the ceiling is 8mgs he's a damn idiot. Because it is either 24 or 32 or somwhere inbetween. I take 8 and feel pretty good, 16 and I start to nod, though it is more of a sleepy nod than a nod of euphoria, but a nod none the less.

Suboxone, taking opiates after... I don't understand

I just started suboxone today, my doctor made me go 24 hours without any opiates which threw me into horrible withdrawls. I am now prescribed 1 8mg tablet twice daily.

I took my first dose today around 2pm (8mg) and felt ok but still had some pain in my back and legs. I took my 2nd dose around 8pm and still have pain in my legs.

Can I take a few norcos to help the leg pain or will it throw me into withdrawal tonight or in the morning when I take my dose of suboxone?

any opioid nod is a good nod in my book :)

but im doing this to really try to stop using opioids so ill only be using as directed
