Sometimes I would only have to wait 12 hours, but I was only using 2mg sublingually in the morning.

The person who took 300mg OC might have taken a much larger Suboxone dose (8mg to 16mg).

I don't get cravings anymore, but what I could venture as a guess is this; are you still in the same place you used to use heroin in?

It's harder to 'stay clean' in a place where you have used a lot in the past. This is called environmental conditioning; often people get used to smoking a cigarette on the front porch - and a pile of butts will indicate this too. When people are in areas where they're used to using drugs, it's much harder not to use them in terms of psychological craving.

I'm currently living somewhere that I've never used in before, and I think it goes to show because I haven't had cravings for a long time.

Cravings may come up as a result of anxiety or depression, or from a multitude of other psychological issues. However, this doesn't mean that they necessarily are.

I find the same thing though - my doses typically stretch me 3 to 6 hours, 3 being if I am having an extra stressful day, 6 hours being if I am trying to get a lot of stuff accomplished.

Past 6 though, it would take another 6 hours until I felt "hellish" from the WD. So, I could easily go 8 maybe 10 hours before I'd start to hit what 808 has called the "wall", etc.

I was sublingually using once a day, but while it "could" last 12 hours, by 8 to 10 hours I would be tempted to go buy heroin - and normally would, on and off, for the first few weeks/months I was adjusting. Then I slowly phased out heroin so that for the last 10 months I've been clean from heroin.

Yes sublingually I find that it has the longest effect for me this way.

That'll happen. I learned that the hard way dosing 24 mg buprenorphine (when I first discovered it and didnt know much about it), and then trying to do 240 mg oxy a day later. Tremendous waste o' money.
 
Got a question about my Suboxone.

I looked in the search engine and didn't find what i was looking for. I just recently decided i needed to get off opiates and the Doctor put me on Subutex 8/2mg for four days and wanted me to start taking suboxone 8/2mg but like into day 2 or 3 it just seemed like the dose that i took in the morning was just wearing off like mid day and i would be right back in withdrawls, so i called him and he had me come in and he increased the dose to (2) 8/2mg a day and he wanted me to take it all at once. So I have been doing that but my question is wouldn't it be better to take the 2 pills at like 2 seperate times? cause mid day into my one dose i'm not going into withdrawls but just get real hot and sweaty, i don't know if that is a sideffect of the suboxone or what. Or maybe my dose needs increased. What do u think???8)
 
what kinda of habit did you have? Usually i would suggest taking 2-4mgs every 8 hours depending how bad withdrawal is...

I bet you took too much suboxone.... take a look at your pupils that should help you decide how sick you are...... if you are pupils are tiny you took enough...

My habit before was 30-90mg of morphine a day on top of 2 norco's 10/325 a day. Plus whatever i could get my hands on like dilaudid or oxy's. My wallet is going to thank me for quitting
drugs. My insurance covers all my suboxone and the doctor visit, so thank god.:D

What you should do is take one 8mg pill, and split it in half, then one half into 2 quarters.

Have a half when you wake up, and throughout the day as you feel you may need more, take a quarter. Then, for bedtime (or the evening) you can take the other quarter.

Splitting your dose over multiple times during the day helps with withdrawal immensely, I'm someone who found they don't like dosing once a day at all (never worked for me).

Congrats on quitting man, but this could've been posted in the Suboxone Mega Thread. It covers Subutex too, as it's the primary thread we use for buprenorphine.

I'm going to merge it in there, but once again - good luck on your recovery. I've been clean from heroin for 10 months now myself. It feels good to be clean again.
 
I got my appointment with my suboxone doctor scheduled, she was on vacation but im seeing her the 17th


I have to research this more, but do most of you take suboxone or subutex

Anything I should say do that getting the script will be easy?

Anything I should avoid?:)
 
Most of us take suboxone.... its cheaper and is the same thing the nalaxone does nothing...

just be honest with her i dont know what else to say

i dont need to flame it do i? i dont think so
do i really need to filter it? it melts so nicely, and i dont have any cig filters, which is what i use for filter with other drugs like oxy or smack.

No, do not apply ANY heat - this will only help the inactive ingredients absorb into the water (= the crap you don't want in your shot).

You don't "need" to filter it - there's no talc, no microcrystalline cellulose, no silicone dioxide, and other potentially harmful common inactive ingredients.

No need to filter, just don't use heat.

Crunch up powder fine, add into water, shake until homogenized, let sit for a few minutes (this will allow the inactives to settle at the bottom). Then, draw back the top liquid, leaving the crap at the bottom of the spoon.

It's a pretty easy process.

Just make sure you're not going to miss - have perfect technique, or have someone help you out who does have perfect technique. Missing Suboxone can be a very nasty situation.

So I guess my 16mg dose the doctor gave me is pretty high from what i read. And you guys suggest that i space out those 2 8mg pills throughout the day? But when i take those 2 pill at once I get a little bit of a buzz,if u can it a buzz. well at least a feeling of calm. Is it common to have the doctor just give you a 30 day supply and have you come in once a month?

Yes, it's common to see your Suboxone doctor once a month.

You also will get a better buzz off of buprenorphine if you taper down slowly over time, so that your opiate tolerance is lowered. Then, low doses of buprenorphine will get you higher. I've found the lower the dose, the better the effects are. When I was using 2mg at a time, I wasn't getting high. When I switched to 1mg is when I discovered feeling "high" from buprenorphine, at 0.5mg and 1/3mg I felt even "higher" as I kept going lower and lower (hence having a lower opiate tolerance as well). I'm at 0.25mg at a time now, and I still get just as high as I did when I was taking 1mg at a time.

Yes, you want to space out your dose throughout the day. Especially if dosing 8mg in the morning doesn't last you all day. For some it will - but it never managed to hold me all day like it has others. If you take 2mg three times a day, not only are you taking a lower daily dose, but you're helping maintain the medicine's window of efficacy longer than once a day dosing would typically provide.
 
Should I tell my doctor about this all of a sudden anxiety and insomnia i get when i take the meds? do u think he will give me something? I get real irritated from loud talking or loud anything and i can usually only sleep every other night. So what do u think?
 
When will withdrawals subside?

Ive been on suboxone since october 2008, 8mg daily. In july 2009, I had tapered down to about .25 or less mg and jumped off. Im currently beginning week number 2 and I am not feeling much relief to tell the truth. Everyone tells me it will get better after a week but it has not. Relapse is not an option but it has crossed my mind. The main problem I have with this is insomnia. I toss and turn all night long. Last night I woke up once every hour. I really just want some first hand experience to see when this is going to go away!
