How quickly did you do your taper?

Also, how long did you stay at 8mg?

I would try to get a script for benzodiazepines if at all possible. A nice bottle full of lorazepam, diazepam, alprazolam, or another common benzo can really help with Suboxone withdrawals.

I'm going to merge this into the Suboxone Mega Thread, as we can cover WD from buprenorphine in the thread as well.

I am sorry SoundSystem that you are on week 2 and aren't feeling any relief yet.

Buprenorphine has a tendency to come out of your system really slowly, and this might have something to do with it.
 
soundsystem, all anyone can say is benzos/sleeping pills, but you already messed up the ambien deal and you said you can't get benzos easily so....
 
Suboxone + Weed = Nodding out?!

Been on sub for 2 months...Smoking weed going on 4 years now although I was not smoking when I started my sub teatment.

But I now notice after I have taken my sub, when its at peak plasma levels and I smoke I sometimes deffinately nod out. I thought I was just having some intense weed expereinces at first, but I put 2 and 2 together.

After dosing my sub about 2-3 hours after if I smoke alot of the time Ill nod out super hard. Im fighting to keep my eyes open and Im having very fleeting thoughts and dream imagery when I close my eyes. Its gone as far as me having weird dream hallucinations with my eyes closed, which is alot like hypnogogia. It feels just like when I used to smoke H all day and have a joint right after, super High and couldnt keep my eyes open. I also feel light headed queasy and generally fucked up which doesnt happen to me with weed alone usually.

Do you all think this is whats happening to me, or that its something else?

These Hallucinations were extremely intense and vivid, although it was neon colors. I could focus and change the imagery sometimes but it usually ends with a random cartoon with crazy laughing and music, or more dream like. All closed eye.

Buprenorphine is a very strong drug, what doses are you taking? It is possible it's time to start tapering down.

I regularly get high from buprenorphine, so it sounds like your opiate tolerance has finally dropped to the point where you can get high from buprenorphine now.
 
^ Weed also intesifies opiates really well. They go so well together but now that i have a lower marijuana tolerance it seems to overpower the opiate. There were times where I would pop some hydro's and would barley feel them then smoke some weed and start nodding.
 
^agreed, marijuana always used to overpower the opioid i was on when doing it, which is why i stopped smoking while on opioids in the first place ;P
 
^ That's how I always felt. They were a great combo but since I got out of rehab my tolerance to weed has gone done so much that it makes me trip a bit haha in a good way though. So when I smoke on opiates it over powers it. I used to love smoking on opiates though.

Its down to 2mg a day and Ill feel normal, Ill take 4mg every now and then and I definitely feel it when I do that with more of the talkativeness and better mood. Not much euphoria tho.
 
restarting suboxone?

Today I didn't have any subs so in order to keep out of withdrawal I had to take 30mg of hydrocodone(which is like 10mg with my tolerance). I am about 150lbs and took them at around 5p.m. I know that everyone is different but i would like a rough estimate of about what time i could start taking my subs again tomorrow without going in precipitated withdrawal. I'm looking for a rough amount of hours, not the mild vs. moderate withdrawal type of stuff. thanks
 
weird experience

ok.

so ive been doing dope and oxys for a about 2-3yrs now. a while ago i started suboxone treatment. was on it for a month, then relapsed. through the next few months i on and off the subs getting high on a reg basis. then i stopped the subs and was shooting dope again, heavily for about a 2months.

yesterday (9-7-09) i did my last dope around 10p. i woke up today (9-8-09) and was modeartly sick. i waited a while and took half a 8mg sub. after a while the pain was getting worse and like an idiot i took the other half. by the time it dissolved i was contemplating the fact that i could b in prescripted widthdrawl. i waited a while longer and took a whole another sub...i heard that doing this could actually curve the w/d. after a while i was all over the place in the worst w/d pain i ever had. i went out to the set and coped some dope. i did a nice shoot (3bags of some of the best dope on the east coast) and it didnt really do much but actually bring me back down to earth and allow me to feel some what ok. about an hr after that i took 40mg of oxy (oral but i chewed them -- they were generic so no snorting those things). its been about 2 or 3 hrs now from that i feel somewhat ok, with the occasional cold sweat and minor discomfort.

my question(S) are...

1. does shooting the dope and taking the oxys help with the prescripted w/d - and would it actually start knocking the bupe/nalox of my receptors?

and

2. tomorrow if i go to shoot dope after about 24hr after the dosing of the subs...will i be good to go?


...when i was on the BMT i always waited 24 to 48hr after taking the subs to take oxy or dope. but since i havent been taking the subs regularly, will i be able to get high tomorrow.

any comments are much obliged...

Is buprenorphine causing my headaches and lethargy?

I have been on Bupenorphine for a LONG time, something like 7 years. Lately I've been having these days where I'll wake up and things just aren't "right." I get these awful headaches that last all day, along with lethargy, and this overall feeling of not being "myself." At times, (like last weekend) I find that I'll sleep ALL day. Like over labor day weekend I left my apartmet only a few times for food.

I am taking 5-6mg Subx everyday, which isn't THAT much, and I've been on it so long I would think I'd be immune to these sorts of negative effects.

My sex drive is low, I'm tired, depressed, and now i have headaches. Subutex tends to give me energy, so some nights I don't sleep that well, but then other times I sleep all weekend (usually with horrible dreams)

I'm seeing my doctor tomorrow, and i'm going to ask him to start tapering me down. I'm extremely scared, i've been on this stuff so long and I'm in a very transitional stage of my life right now.

Do you guys think my symptoms are related to the bup? Or could it be from my very stressful job (doctor)? Like these headaches last all day, sometimes 2 days!

When I was just a young pup I took like 32mg of suboxone because I was still in the honeymoon phase where itd get me high and got to absolute worst headache of my life.

Since then I've never surpassed 8mg.
