Personally I dont think its cute but I like small gauges on girls like 10's can be super cute
now as for me... i have in 14's...the same size as a belly button ring...you cant really even tell they are gauged but i find them much more comfy i have captive dangle's in both ears... when i had the regular size which is usually a 20 i coul never comfortably wear dangly earrings... now I can!

I'm not sure why some people in this thread can't seem to agree to disagree, and recognize that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Some find it attractive, some find it repulsive, and others fall somewhere in between. That's all there is to it, really.

I'm in agreement with this.

Regardless of so called "shit you'll regret."

I love when people tell me about shit I'll regret from behind a screen across an ocean, differant cultures and races.

heaven forbid there should be any kind of critical discussion here. feelings might get hurt when scary question marks are used.

let me know when you have more than a "whatever, i do what i want" reply.

What have you to offer for a counterpoint? I can't think of a reason to argue with; but you're undulating in some ill-concieved moral/aesthetic crusade to fight this practice, under any condition. What would you like exactly?

Let people do what thou whilt. You don't like it? Don't fuck them.

Solved.

We can do what we want. You can do what you want. However this is a lame way to go about a subject and so instead we make it into a huge debate with more inticrate ways to explain the whole "I can do what I want" phrase.

of course we can do what we want. regardless of whether we can justify our choices or not, this is still indeed true.

the job aspect isnt a huge deal if someone has that much of a problem with it theyre probanly a douche i wouldnt want to work for anyway
Get compliments on your jewlrey which makes you feel good
helps avoid douchebags who are so judgemental they wont talk to u cuz of it. Problem solved before it starts.

I bet you think its fine for women to wear jewlrey with small holes and diamonds and or dangly stuff. Is it really that different? The ones who wear heavy jewlrey you can tell when they get old when tgat little hole has stretched down a lot

I'm going to hotglue a bunch of feathers up my ass and sneak into radio city music hall, steal a microphone, and recite Poe's the raven over and over.

The feather job is irrerrsable

fight that diatribe you combative weirdo.

There is nothing to "critically discuss", because this is not an objective issue. The best we can do is offer our own subjective opinions, while respecting others'.

we can all have opinions, you know that saying about arseholes, anyway, the critical discussion can take the form of why you have made whatever decision you made. it is a critical look at one's own thought process. i have indicated the reason for my position, that it is purely aesthetic and therefore not worth the disfigurement. i was genuinely intrigued by thou who repeatedely refused to elaborate on why he thinks it is worth it, alluding to artistic merits and even some research in one post. at the end of the day, he finally conceded that it is only aesthetic.

it's pretty telling when people mask their motivations so obviously. it seemed very much like he was masking it even from himself. it was not i who was "combative" in this thread. i was merely attempting to engage to allow others to truley express themselves, but i guess that's either too difficult or unpleasant for some. the irony here is that body mods are lauded as a way of self expression, but what does it really express?

this is what i want to know.

or am i being inappropriate for having such a desire to talk? why not just lock the thread in that instance and replace replies with a poll. how interesting would that be?

It's still open for a reason. I don't feel anyone has been disrespectful of anything but the others thoughts on the matter, and that after all is the base of good productive discussion on a topic. I personally find the widely varying views on something I never have had change my thoughts on a person interesting.
