This drug is still dispensed over-the-counter in atleast Laos (possibly other SEA countries). I spent 5 months in SEA during my high-school gap year with a friend who was originally from Laos. I don't recall the name of the preparation but I *think* it was supplied in combination with acetylsalicylic acid.Still wondering about bromo-iso-valerianyl-ureum, what does it do?
bromisoval is a ring-opened barbituate type sedative

was in medication formula's from maybe the 50-ies.
.
We both tried it together and it's effects where simple. Benzodiazepine-alcohol-carisoprodol like sedation. I've never found traditional GABA-type sedatives to be particularly pleasurable so I was unimpressed. These simple Bromine sedatives aren't used medically anymore because they pose a high risk of Brominism due to their low potency (Many of them require upwards of a gram to produce a therapeutic effect) although, as mentioned, they are still dispensed scarcely around the world.
