All this talk about hotels, meetups, 2 step, and the idea of me hangin' with some the most chill people on the planet for an entire weekend has me SOOOOOO amped!!!! This'll be my first Starscape. I can't wait!!! I don't know what to do with myself. Honestly, I feel like breakdancin' or some shit. hehe

As for talking about a meet-up,... please let's keep that all off the board... as a person that was present at the florida debacle I can tell you that you don't want ANYTHING like that happening to you (and I wasn't even one of the people that got arrested, I just had to witness all of it). Those of you who were not around when that went down (ScaryRaver!) have no idea just how bad a meet-up can go wrong... Feel free to talk to me off-board if you don't know anyone else, since no one else is offering up any help (AIM, e-mail, whatever). Just keep this stuff on the DL, please. I'm trying not to be too paranoid, but it's difficult.
 
personally, i dont see any problem meeting up beforehand outside the hotel... the problem lies in having a hotel afterparty where people could have substances on them or be under the influence. my advice is to just be smart about things. br was a unique event, lets hope it never happens again. but theres no need living in fear, just live cautiously (ie, no selling or taking drugs at meetups-- its not soooo hard :) ).
the only reason why i say all of this is because it is harder to have a meetup in a party because everyone wants to wander around. it would be nice to have everyone get together beforehand and go together, and then go our separate ways when the night is over. either way, ill still be at the meetup :)
is anyone going to the show at buzz the night before? i really really would like to. i love the bassbin twins :D
 
im down for the party in dc the night before, whats it like an hour drive from baltimore to dc? and i say we pregame at one of the local taps before both parties(for those of us that are 21+)
 
i cant believe i am actually going to go to a rave!!!!!!!!!yeah!!!!!!!!! its been a while.. i posted i bet 5 times in the last 8 months or so. But im getting my ass out for this one. Im siked to go to a phat ass party like this and then go to japan 6 daze later.

I don't know, but it seems to me that meeting before the party is ok, as long as we're not all entering at the same time. Maybe I'm just a bit more paranoid than I should be, but having bunch of BLers all come in at the same time??? It's cool to see/meet people, and then see/meet them again inside. At least that's what I'll do, especially because I'll be with about 8 other friends now, none of whom are BLers. Be safe everyone. I don't know what went on down in FL, but I know for sure I don't want anything bad to happen to the people I'm with, since some of them are International Students and they're worried like crazy that they'll get kicked out of the country if they do something wrong.
A quick question for anyone who's been to this events before:
Can we bring bags and food in? Is the security pretty tough or is it similar to larger events like the Countdown2k2?
I hope they sell food there since it's a day long event.
 
How far is the holiday inn from the airport? Me and pixiegirl are gettin in at a little after midnight on friday night/saturday morning, so we figure we'll have to catch a cab to the hotel...

Assuming the airport is within the Baltimore area, most hotels would have some type of complimentary airport shuttle service.... I would call your designated Hotel directly to confirm this.

thinks.... hmmm last time i checked i belive it was still leagle to go to parties and meet people off the internet, if you are worried about getting arrested do not bring drugs into the party or to the meet up. personaly i have no problem talking about the meet up and where i'll be and what i'd be whereing cause i'm not an E-Tard 8) nore do i do drugs at parties for the most part cause well, i like to have fun and meet people and dance not sit in the middle of the floor asking for back rubs. points out the J.F.L. as you can ask New Englanders and they will tell you i am ;) right teddy? how many times my crew end up fighin' or startin' something with someone... dat right all de time y0 hardcore gang *stars* in De holyoak/springfeild HiZouse!

a meetup is a group of people... meeting. that's it. i understand why some of you might be worried, but this isn't the first meetup ever to be discussed. its a matter of being CAREFUL, and trusting the right people. if cops want to find you, want to bust you... they will. they dont need this board. they're gonna be everywhere.
i, for one, want to see the meetup happen like it did last year.... it was perfect. and it will be agian.
dont give out your room number... but there's nothing wrong with planning a meetup outside a hotel. geez. most of us know each other, or at least ONE other person anyway.
and anyways... how many people are gonna be fucked up BEFORE the party even starts... probably not many.
ok i'm done ranting now.
to answer someone's previous question... yeah, you can take bags in. you can take in pretty much anything you want. they do a thorough search at the gate, which is why it took us HOURS to get in last year. but from ultraworld's website it says this year there will be 20 search lines or something like that. so hopefully it will go a little faster.
FYI... PUT BUG REPELLANT on your list of things to bring...
 
e-girl and scary raver, i totally agree with you, but after the events that went down last october, i believe(someone correct me if im wrong) the issue was discussed with jase and skydancer that specific meetups outside of parties are NOT to be discussed on the board or in the chatroom, that it be kept to email and aim or whatever.
so out of respect for jase and sky, lets get an email list together of the people that are going to this and we can discuss the meetups in the emails
 
There's nothing wrong with being careful people.
For those of you who keep saying "don't bring drugs to meet-ups"... come back to reality for a moment. Do you think that's ever going to happen? People are going to be in possesion and under the influence, period. You know that for a fact.
But anyway, it's basically already been exposed that we all entend to meet before the party at the hotel, so fuck it, talk away about whatever you feel, don't let me stand in your way. I'm going to shut up now and go back to being paranoid all on my own. If something happens to me or mine because of your carelessness, shame on your ass. Enjoy.
 
i dont think that rule was pertaining to meeting up before a party and then going to it.... but rather organizing full bl meetup events.

ok im gonna be the lazy ass mofo and just ask, where and when is the meet up, because its nice meeting some NEW bluelighters, did i see scary raver and speekah freaka are gonna be there?! i met u kids at boo6 (christinas ohio crew) what up! we'll have to meet up again, just dont let anyone "set u up" scary raver hahahaha. THIS PARTY WILL KICK ASS k bye..
