Sniffer dogs

The 3 ones tkey are most commonly trained for are:
*Weed
*Amphets (inc MDMA, speed, ice)
*Cocaine

Not all are trained in all 3, and there are some specialist dogs trained for other things. Never heard of K being an issue.

As always, stay cool, stay safe, just stroll on by despite being sniffed and you're cool. As has been alerted before, much of it is your reaction and not just the dog.

if in doubt, don't carry drugs on your person. seriously.

It's a risk you need to calculate if it's worth it or not. If you're scared - get a girl to throw your shit down her bra. buy some stashpants ( like Smuggling Duds) or sew a pocked into your crotch - if frisked by police, they won't grab your dick.

U could do that just make sure it aint in a baggie as that makes a noise LOL but my word of advice would be to not to carry anything on u at all. If u are going to a festival or whatever then take ur stuff before hand. If ur fav gig is playing then, then go later and take it later.

If they are conducting full searches then this won't work. I've only heard of strip searches occuring at a few festivals though (like defqon in 2009?).

Merging into existing sniffer dogs thread.

They had strip searches at both Defqon festivals.

When you step back and think about it for a minute, the concept of forcing someone to strip naked just to search them for a stash of drugs seems beyond absurd. I won't get up on the soapbox here, but it's fucked up what we just accept as normal for the sake of prohibition.

cant believe they do strip searches what a load of shit.
wonder how many innocent people have been strip searched to find nothing, can they complain about police fucking up?

wonder how much dogs they kill a year with all these festivals in the heat

What if u refuse to be strip searched? Can u choose not to enter the venue and leave? What would the consequences for refusal be? Im sure one would have sum sort of rights. Just because a dog has indicated that doesnt mean that someone should be humiliated via a strip search etc but then again im just asking what if? as im curious LOL

I'm sure you have the right to refused, but that in itself may be warrant for the police to pursue it further. Eg, Go down the path of taking you to the police station/hospital, getting a JP (or the like) to review the situation and make a decision as to whether they can/should force a strip search. All under the guise of "the greater good" - protecting the community against "drug pushers" 8).

More realistic though is that they'd refuse entry.

Yeah I'm fairly sure they'd take you down to the station, I'm surprised it doesn't happen much more actually.

Usually when I walk into an event and i'm wearing a hat, it almost certainly gets searched. Same thing happens with other people I see wearing hats too :(

Know of someone not long ago who got through the dogs, only to take his hat off to wipe his forehead...as he swung the hat down, his baggie fell out. He quickly put the hat back on, but the cops asked him to politely remove it again.

He had to go to court, but let off with a drug diversion course and no conviction.

The strip searches initiated solely from sniffer dog "hits" they were doing at DEFQON were partial searches (in Sydney 2009, at least), so you were asked to remove all your clothing except underpants, and the inspection was mostly visual with no pat-down below the belt or in the case of females no removal or contact at the front of the bra as well.

If the search went further than that it would have been based on other evidence (was the person carrying baggies, loose plastic, an unshapely bulge?), or the usual police-like things e.g. did the police see you give someone drugs/acting suspiciously? did you accidentally tell an officer "yeah i know where you can get some..."? did someone else accidentally tell an officer you had some?

Defqon Sydney was a funny one though; there was one entry that was basically single-file with railings on either side. Police walked the dogs as obviously, and slowly as possible from the front of the line to the back, grabbing a lot of people that saw them and went "oh fuck, if they get to me they'll catch me!" and tried to walk back through the line with no subtlety. Immediate reason for the police to suspect possession. Had they stood in the line and the dogs actually hit on them, chances are they would've been subject to a frisk at most, provided their stash wasn't in a pocket, wallet, etc.

chilli powder is really sensitive on the dogs noses and can make them jerk back when they smell it. this can also alert the cops so its still not the best idea

a buddie told me a story once...

said they'd go to some local events locations, days prior, burry the stuff in a shallow hole somewhere away from the event but inside the grounds. laydown a picnic blanket and have a sit about with friends, while digging away on the sly with one hand leaning back.

now this fella could tell a story... but if your keen, i guess i might work. situation dependant. anyone heard of something like this??

I've heard a lot of people talk about trying something similar, never actually come across someone who claims to have done it though, but it wouldn't surprise me in the least.

^ROFL, next event I'm at I will pay attention to the ground for freshly dug drug grave sites. I have heard of this as a suggested method, but never heard of anyone pulling it off. Too much risk that your stash will be discovered by people setting up the event imo. Or, funnier still, you find a stage planted on top of your stash!

As a chick, I've always stashed in my bra, wearing one that has a place for padding (and padding my boobs with my gear!).

I festival it up in Perth every year and have never seen a sniffer dog once, but am aware of cops with digs at the train stations sniffing all and sundry who get off the carriages. I recall at one or two last year, despite no dogs, the security were INTENSE, searching my make up compact, my camera battery area, pulling the lid off my deodorant and suncream, checking through my purse - it was nuts. Never found anything though.

My motto will always be to keep it close to my chest...
