Sniffer dogs

Does anyone know if sniffer dogs will be at the Adelaide Big Day Out this year?

I am trying to find out but cannot find any information on this subject. As far as I remember I could not see any last year, but I did not have anything to worry about then (and errr same this year ;) )

Would surely hate for those big dogs to cause a ruckus on my big day out.

A few at goldcoast bdo yesterday, friend walked past them with 7 pills, 2 points of speed and a joint in her bag and luckily didnt get barked at though :)

Hopefully you get the crappy dogs to haha.

I swear its more intimidation then anything, just act cool :)

I dunno about Adelaide, but i heard they were going to use them at Perth BDO and Good Vibes because they had such huge success at summadayze (woohoo 50 odd people out of 20,000+)

I'm not going to BDO Adelaide personally however I should think that the doggies will be out there! We have 3 (or 4 maybe) dogs stationed in Adelaide permanently. And since there's no events happening too soon before or afterwards I reckon they will be out.

Not that I would advocate techniques that could conceal drugs from sniffer dogs (not really harm minimization now is it? ;)) but if one were to utse I'm sure it's been covered before. =D

Technically getting arrested for having drugs when your not a criminal could cause emotional harm, we could try minimization on emotional harm. Not to mention the harm to family, friends and reputation.

Trick is one don't catch public transport
two get someone without drugs to go suss out the entrances first
three go in entrance with no police dogs or wait for the dog to go home.

Dog was only out for like 2 hours a gold coast BDO and the entrance i went in we didn't have to empty pockets like other entrances.

Yeah good plan, get some one to suss it all out first.

When I went 2 years ago went in fairly early and there was barely a line up, they barely looked in bags and patted you down and no sign of L.E.

My friends dad is a police officer and he said that at the Sydney BDO this year they are doing a massive anti drug campaign, anyway he said that he will be rostered on from 10am to 2pm along with a heap of other officers and dogs... More then usual.

There is my 2 cents.

It's somewhat debatable whether legal outcomes fall under the umbrella of harm minimisation but where we can prevent people being arrested for personal quantities of drugs I think there is room for interpretation. Commercial quantities; no.

You have a good friend their :)

....So we just turn up after 2pm with buldging pockets, mad ;)

Jakeperson makes a great point....I personally don't believe in arresting anybody for any type of drug......but that's another topic :D

awww what BDO in perth that sucks.. we're gonna get a lift and walk most the way cause fingers crossed theyre just gonna be blocking off the traino like they did at summerdayze..

haha has anyone heard the song the festival song by pez??

Hehe yeah, it pretty much sums up the 'festival scene' i heard it on Triple J a few times.. puts a grin on my face each time :)

I'd also guess the dogs would only be at the train stations for Perth.. same as summadayze, but who knows. They usually dont have the dogs out longer then 45mins or so at a time, because the dogs get bored. They did this at Stereosonic Perth back in November, had dogs on for about 30mins or so.. took them away.. came back an hour later for about 30mins or so.. then disappeared again.

Just be cool :) There more for intimidation then anything.. have a read of madmick19's post in the BDO Gold Coast thread.. pretty effective tactic by the cops.

Activated charcoal will defeat ANY drug sniffing dog, u can wrap things up in carbon paper and add calcium carbide, i hear it burns the sinuses of dogs getting near it, it will fuck up their ability to smell for hours if not days depending on strength, you cant expose it to water tho, calcium Carbide forms acetylene when it comes into contact with water.

A friends friends uncles cousin uses these techniques in Mexico:)

He is an idea. Fuck the police.
Idea: one person take drugs for drugs for group make it hot chick so u can figure the drugs out... later fun for many :) then the no drug carrys smoke heaps of weed coveer yourself in drugs sprinkles so the dog goes nutes now while u are getting searched and u take up there time all ya friends get in. Its a team spot people get involved get together use ya mobile to tell other where cops are i recall driving around with load speaker telling people.
Together we can beat them.

An old, oft repeated myth regarding beating X Rays. Has been totally irrelevant since the 1970s, yet still many use it.

K9 Coppers live with their dogs. Doggies go home with them at the end of their shift. You injure a police member's dog, be prepared to reap the whirlwind.
