Amazing.

Just got it and it's so beautiful.. especially I am you... the intro literally made me feel like I was tripping... The outro dialogue was really intense too.

Anyone else picked this up yet?

Man I just posted a thread about it and it got merged into the recommend me some new music thread.

I've heard a bunch of song from the album, haven't heard them all from start to finish yet. Some of the tracks are insane. #6 and #8 (oh my god) and #4 are my favorites. But I am sure I will come to love the other on their terms very shortly.

I would already say this album is definitely better than "Nothing Last...But Nothing is Lost..." and "Are You Shpongled?" Not sure about about "Tales of the Inexpressible", but that's my favorite album of all time (for the past ~5 years no less), so that's kind of a different story. But hey, give me a few weeks, and maybe this might become my new favorite album. :D

If you like what you hear, pre-order it here:

It's only $13! That's nothing, it's not even a g of bud. This kind of stuff deserves support! Now if only I could see them live at a good show with a good stash of LSD and/or MDMA.

pre-ordered this just now. the samples sound pretty wicked.

interesting how shpongle's sound has developed over the years. it's definitely more accessible and less dark sounding now than Are You Shpongled.

Tales was my favourite for a while, for a similar reason - quite accessible and melodic.

But Are You Shpongled is the one that has stood the test of time for me. Monster Hit is the greatest 5-6 minute buildup dissolving into the most randomly magical musical moment of clarity. I do wonder if anyone else feels that the same way I do. And Divine Moments of Truth is a rhythmic masterpiece.

Nothing Lasts never did it for me, although I never gave it much of a trance. It just seemed too in-your-face 'trancelike' for my liking.

yep it sounds as amazing as possible. to think that they can "do it" time and time again.

cannot wait for the album to drop.

Are you Shpongled is definitely my favorite as well, jimbu. It is timeless indeed. But I like their other two albums immensely. Each album has a slightly different sound than the previous but all our clearly shpongled.

Yeah, over the years Shpongle have definitely moved from dark psybient to more ambient influenced "world psytrance". I know that not all of their songs have the 4x4 beat. Nevertheless, to this day, I find psytrance is a huge influence on Shpongle's music. I can also feel a more Younger Brother vibe to the album. For some reason Pink Floyd comes to mind as well. Not necessarily because of the similarity in music, but the psychedelia of album has something about it.

Nothing Lasts is also my least favorite Shpongle album. It's not that its bad, by any means. It's just not the 10/10 quality that I am used to from Shpongle. It's closer to a 7-8. It's still pretty good though. Are You Shpongled? is definitely a special album in the Shpongle series, if anything because it is what put them on the map and arguably what gave birth to psybient. But in my opinion, Are You Shpongled suffers from a little from it's early psybient roots (Mystery of the Yeti, Infinity Project et al). It's just not as refined as Tales of the Inexpressible and lacks the infective quality that made me fall in love with Tales of the Inexpressible. Still it's an awesome album, so many goods songs. My personal favorite is ...And the Day Turned to Night, it's 20 minute trip in itself, it's almost as if I feel like I am coming down when I reach the end of the song.

Anyways this is a great album, can't wait to see them live (even a DJ set will do), but that's not happening until at least next summer. :\

I tripped to this album last night and I Am You literally made me cry... it's so beautiful and brought me down so many avenues of all the people I know all over the globe thanks to the internet and how we are all the same... You are me, and I am you. I will always be with you.

A friend linked me to this on a torrent and I didn't know it hasn't came out yet. I will definitely be buying it when it comes around. :D

a little something to maybe take into consideration:

It turns out that the Twisted record label is teetering on the edge of Bankruptcy and the new Shpongle album has been leaked and is now available via various torrent sites. Simon P covers the situation here:

http://www.twistedmusic.com/forums/viewthread/3674/P15/#17484

Anyway just thought it would be worth saying, if you fancy getting Shpongled in the future, support the label and buy a copy of the new album from the twisted shop:

Yeah... I said above that I enjoyed the album so much that I would be purchasing it... I generally purchase their albums to support them to continue making great music... It was just nice to get a sneak preview of the album. :)

i apologize if my comment seemed to be directed at you - it wasn't. since this is a place where shpongle/twisted fans are likely to hang out, i just thought it was worth giving an inside look into what is happening in this corner of the music industry. a lot of people in this forum seem opposed to paying for their tunes and i think it's important to think about the consequences of that approach to obtaining music. if artists' projects go financially unsupported, eventually they are abandoned.

Understood.

I have a copy on pre-order atm.... I definitely would suggest people go buy this album... pre-order is cheap as hell... it came out to like $12.50 + shipping. This album is well worth it.... I can see that they put in a lot of hard work making this and I completely support them.

idk about that hallucinogen guy on the twisted forums... it may really be simon but it seems like it may possibly just be someone trolling...

I think it's really him, if you look at the thread on twisted, you'll see that most regular forum members seem to recognize him. But the whole thing did feel a little strange, for some reason I doubt twisted was totally on a verge of collapsing.

Released to the net very recently. Working on it right now... AWESOME.
"Ineffable Mysteries from Shpongleland" if you want to look for it yourself.
Will be buying for sure, as everyone should.

he just seemed really inconsistent on who he was representing. throughout his posts on that thread and even within one post he would switch from representing himself to representing shpongle to represent the whole twisted records label
