@OG--Congratulations on the new job, and an even bigger congrats for having the strength and self-control to throw away the last of your paraphernalia. I think holding on to these old rigs and pipes and such is directly related to holding on to our old way of life. At the same time I think subconsciously it's a way of keeping a small door ajar to slip through if we ever have an overwhelming urge to slip up. If these items are in my room, I can simply be on auto-pilot and grab them without thinking too hard about what I'm doing. Getting rid of paraphernalia complicates things just enough to guard against relapse--it puts one extra step in our way. Without these tools in our homes and rooms we are forced to think that much more about what we are about to do. Well done.
