Shadow People: Stories + Theories

PM me if anyone has spotted a darkened/blaked out figure with a trench coat, boats & a fedora.. *hat 1920s style*

Not really suitable for OD

OD---->DC

I never experienced hearing auditory hallucinations in the form of a song, but certainly I've sworn I heard people outside my door, talking very clearly.

On a meph binge I heard/saw/did:

1. People talking, passing by in crowds, cars racing around. However, I was alone with no-one around me in a 1km area. HD quality.

2. Two monkeys on the night sky, hugging, all bro-like.

3. Kept pointing my finger at the people I spent the night hanging with, asking them who they were, and what they wanted. Still don't understand how that occurred, I just know it did.

4. Sang an obscure song to mask anxiety near a group of people. Seriously brain?

And some other minor(?) shit.

Theories behind uncanny similarity in the experience of stimulant psychoses???

I have been trying to come up with a good reason that people from all over the world and from every possible mix of its cultural, economic, racial, age, economic, education, and drastically different overall lives, all undergo such a strikingly similar experience during stimulant psychoses; variance in the experience seem to be related to an individuals sensitivity and amount of substance ingested, not on any of the previously mentioned variables. If two people people as different as possible on different sides of the earth are equally as high, there experience is almost the same with variations due to environment disregarded. In other words why does everyone that gets there see the tree people. Has anyone heard lovingly concerned highly emotional conversations about them and there actions, by people who were not there, while really in this state. Why does everybody seem to have the same hallucinations Anyone have any thoughts or ideas:?

We all share the human experience and our brains are wired similarly. Although the bath salts psychosis do sound pretty similar there are many forms of psychosis and paranoia can spring from such a varied amount of circumstances that psychosis, by nature is pretty unpredictable.
What interests me more is hallucinogen experiences. Although one could still argue the fact that we are still similarly affected due to how these chemicals affect our brain. Still noone can tell me that hallucinogens aren't devine. I know it through and through.
I got off topic a bit sorry. Continue, I don't have much experience with direct insane stimulant psychosis despite having had meth coke and crakc habits at various times in my life. The only true psychosis i went through was the result of coming off of benzos.

I was referring to the state that heavy long time usurers of coke (esp. iv and crack), and meth get to, with increasingly small doses, until so sensitized that it is reached with almost no dose at all, aka. ! key of substance. This may be the same as the bath salt madness, i cant say. But yeah SineWave when you got off topic you hit a little of what i was starting to think.

The meth/speed/coke induced psychosis is reminiscent of sleep deprivation/insomnia. I'd assume it has to do with the conditions created in the brain being similar.

Hallucinogen experiences have always intrigued me. Especially the 'Machine Elves' and female deity contact (always seems to be female).

I believe the psychoses is thought to be associated with a manic state of mind, that bizarre land above euphoria. With so many experiencing almost exact correlating experiences at such a level of uniqueness and complexity raises amazing possibilities. Anyone have an amazing or dark hallucination they want to see if others have shared. A glimpse of the grid on caps for starters.

People are people - brains are very similar.
Stimulant psychosis is very interesting. As long as you're careful about it, you can learn quite a bit from it.

TREE PPL SUCK!!! I also think it is bc we all experience the human condition and there are aspects of being human that are universal,Jung called them Archetypes. We shouldnt b asking why ppl have such similar experiences because the answer seems 2 b the same from most ppl who have posted. To further advance this threads discussion we should be asking what do these similar experiences mean.

What is the meaning behind tree ppl, machine elves, etc.? What is the Universe trying to tell us and why does it take an altered state of consciousness for most ppl 2 experience these things? Can most ppl just not handle these things when brought 2 the attention of the clear and conscious mind much like how dreams are the subconscious's way of working issues out?

My thoughts on the meaning of tree people, in particular, are that they are actually there to help and protect. They are there to help you realize and conclude that you have gone to far (once again!). If these are mere hallucinations then they, like previously proposed, must come from a part of the brain that is hard wired in us all to try and dissuade what it recognizes as uncontrolled destructive behavior. So in other words an unconscious part of the brain recognizes that another part of the brain (in this case the limbic system overwhelming the frontal lobe resulting in compulsive self triggered dopamine release, or complete ignorance of other life necessities such as eating and sleeping) is repeatedly and uncontrollably doing something wrong. Another idea is much more spiritual. It stems from an idea or much more likely that heartfelt feeling that all life is one amazing entity. All Life or every living things could be adaptions created by "life" in order to survive and spread its own phenomenon. Sure, adaptions are created and go extinct, some consume others to survive, some are wrong, a few are correct.. in that they are successful for a time, we are all interdependent attempts of the self promoting, growing, infinitely adaptable phenomenon of life. What if, as life perpetually recreates itself it instills "souls" into every thing, and just as the species are introduced accomplish their task and are reabsorbed, souls are released with individuals and at conclusion are then reabsorbed into a greater spirit of life. Could these souls recognize the suffering of another soul and try and influence its behavior?

I had heard the term tree ppl b4 reading this thread, but the more common ones I have heard are shadow ppl or shadow warriors. 2 me the shadow ppl arent helpful but instead they are the ones watching and waiting for u to go to far. They are a manifestation of ur sub conscious mind choosing to show up as morphing and ever evolving shadows. The reason the sub conscious uses the idea of shadows is to represent the idea of darkness and emptiness that a shadow represents. Our shadows are supposed 2 follow us and mimic our movements but the shadow ppl is our subconscious's way of showing us that if we keep it up,we will be following our shadow.

I dont think the key to figuring out the meaning of these Universal hallucinations lies in just the names we call them, but in the common ground shared by all of the various terms for the things u se after being up for a few. So far for this effect we have t he terms Tree ppl,Shadow ppl,and Shadow Warriors.

stimulant induced psychosis bears a remarkable resemblance to schizophrenia. it is believed to be caused by prolonged heightened levels of dopamine. this is why antipsychotics (dopamine antagonists) work so well in treating psychotic states (both drug and mental illness).

^^^worst pictures to look at before I go to sleep... the shadow people are watching me in my room!

haha, yeah once you've met them a few times you kind of know it's just a shadow person so even though the hallucination is vivid as fuck you can do what you like with them because you know they're not real... The way I usually know it's definitely a shadow person is that they make no noise at all (at least they haven't yet! maybe I haven't gone that far)
The last time I saw them I realised it was them and found that I could change them into men or women, get them to come over to me and say hi in gestures and do various things (like dance with each other, do the hokey cokey, whatever I wished) by will of the mind... it would of been kind of fun if it wasn't so bloody insane.

also interestingly one time I used modafinil to stay awake while taking a high amount of zopiclone (don't do this!) - it completely replicated the symptoms of stimulant psychosis. most delusional episode yet actually it was horrifying.
