Royal Doof 2010 ~ 12-14 June

Yay i got my tickets too! They are a lot more plain this year ... but fuck the line up in the booklet looks brilliant!!! :D:D:D I forgot Ultravoice was playing too ... fuck, it's unbelievable how amazing the tunes are gonna be!!
 
Oh my god.. i just messaged FFT/Lamat on myspace telling him how it wont be long before i get to rock it to his awesome tunes with mother earth - and he told me his visa has been denied so he wont be playing!!!! Same with Han Solo....

I am devastated... F.F.T is actually my favorite psy producer, i was looking sooo forward to seeing him... i just don't know what to think now. I hope Royal can replace them with someone just as good... :(

I am hoping he'll write back telling me he is joking.. i might contact Royal and ask them about this. This has totally crushed me.

Yeah i heard back from Royal and they confirmed it is the case, they are working on getting his visa approved but it's not looking good. They will post the bad news up soon once things are confirmed. There is still that tiny tiny chance that it will be all good....but most likely not.. :(
 
Hey, i was just wondering if anyone had any seat for some car pooling, i have only been in melbourne for three months and i dont know many people in the scene here and the people i intend to go with may have uni work around that time, so if anyone has a spare seat send me a PM i would for ever be in your debt or if anyone know a carpooling thread i would gladly move my post to there and would hate to have to miss out on this event (seeing my two fave psy artist azax and mekk). XD.

this will be my first royal, been to rainbow 4 years in a row now and haven't ventured off into any other doofs. the disappointing music at rainbow this year has left me craving, so i decided i'll head to royal since i am impressed by the linup every year.
Really wish they'd release the local lineup and whatever other INTS they might have coming.
Already sad to hear that Han Solo will most likely not be there, I do love his work.

I really hope there is lots of prog and techno during the day, dont think i'll be able to cope with psytrance nonstop for 3 days. As much as i'm really digging azax syndrome, his stuff gets a bit boring and braindead after listening too it for an hour. Bit too intense for me~ but will def go for a stomp during his set as everyone seems to be hyping him up so much!
 
There will definitely be prog, they generally play really good prog at the perfect time (for example, in the afternoon when people are wanting to chill rather than at sunrise when people are wanting to go off)

They generally get a pretty decent variety of tunes. Techno is generally more in the progressive form so it goes down pretty nicely. To be honest full on banging techno doesn't really suit a doof :\ imo anyways. It tends to do my head in, i love the twists and quirks of psy/prog psy when doofing :)

But i know what you mean, variety is always good.
 
proggy techno is exactly the kind i want to hear :)
rainbow was full of it in 2007 and loved it, then it kind of dissapeared. or i was never around when it was playing. hope royal is full of it. Wish I knew i was going to Royal earlier so I could have put in application to do a prog liveset. guess it's too late now?
 
Woo just bought my ticket online! I'm just a litttttttttttle bit excited for this one8o

Must say that i'll most definitely be sleeping in my car! Even at rainbow it was bloody cold at night let alone in the pits of winter hehe

Yeah man it'll still be a insane event - i am still so bummed about Lamat/FFT and Han Solo ...words can't explain how bad i wanted to see them. Lamat has assured me both him and Han will be touring in November.... as long as i am not pregnant or anything by then though, that's the thing!!!

It'll still be a awesome turn out im sure. :)
 
Not long now kiddies. Can't wait to be stomping in front of the JBL line array again!!!

Let's hope the weather is nice to us this year. I don't think I could handle another MUDtreya like event in 2010.

Hope ya'll are good at chopping wood. The number one priority is keeping that fire stocked with logs for warmth. I recommend doing that before getting uber mangled ;)
 
Tee hee - i have some awesome memorable moments from random trippers stopping by our camp site fire over the years of doofing... thinking back to those times makes me giggle. Some fucking funny memories that i dearly cherish to this day :D
 
oh man i cant wait for this event!! can wait to meet you all remember if u see someone in a jester's hat it could be me so say hi!! XD i have not forward to any doof as much as this one its gonna be a rockin' 3 days!!!
 
Hmmmm Permit lease still hasn't been signed yet. Hopefully they come through with the goods:\

These guys are working pretty bloody hard to secure the site so wishing them the best of luck!!
