I don't think anyone can know for sure where it will be on new years dayz, but if you think about it you could probably make an educated guess. ;)
 
Roadside Drug Tests are still happening in melbourne, my girlfreind was pulled over on St Kilda Road, coming home from Sunshine People. So Watch out people... aparently they had caught 2 people that night (prior to 11pm).
 
yeah i herd bout that poor trucky in vic who smoked weed a month b4 he was tested and he got pinned (maybe abit old) and so i'm freaked out... so what happends if I have a few pills n cones on the weekend and get pulled over on say a wendnesday.........? i dont trust this system its either I stop driving or stop the fun.......(its pretty embaressing getting pinned for drugs infront of everyone dont u agree?)

It's not the embarrassment I'd be worried about... it's the criminal record.

In any event, the saliva test should only be able to catch you (at absolute max) 24 hrs later, most likely significantly less.... by wednesday a lot of people would pass a blood test.
 
I wonder if it is possible to avoid the saliva tests... such as (as distasteful as it sounds) swig some vinegar from a bottle and swish it around your mouth before you approach the cops?

Who think's this might work?

(please note: I do not condone drug driving, I'm just curious)

This most definately doesn't work. We tested this theory out on a control subject and it made absolutely no difference to the result.

We did some more tests over the NYE period, and found nothing particularly noteworthy. Basically after using Cannabis and Amphetamines we showed up positive for a period of several hours.

One test result that was interesting was on a subject who had about a point of Meth, then another around 2 hours later. We tested around 3 hours later and came up negative. I'm not by any stretch of the imagination saying anyone should use this as a guide for when they are safe to drive, (there is always going to be a difference between what is Safe, and what is detectable) I'm just reporting our findings
 
^^ I think it really depends on the person.. A while back, someone got tested 3 hours after taking a pill which has a high concentration of speed in it and still came out positive....

i've been called a subject...

ive been called a defendant, asshole, dickhead and even a cunt...

but this is the first time as a subject... :D

My brother got pulled over on sydney road....2 weeks ago i think. He said he was off his head on louie and eccies.. and got let straight through with a negative outcome of the test...

The secret those listerine tabs... he reckons they neutralise the acids or watever in your saliva..now he and all my friends keep a pack of those listering tabs!

Dont tell too many people though
 
^^^Ever occured to you that maybe he just got lucky. Just as there have been false positive results it is entirely possible that there can be false negative results generated. There is no reason that listerine strip mints things would do anything. I'm not a chemist but i'm pretty sure that a breath mint isn't going to magically make the presence of drugs in your saliva disappear. This is just another example of a bullshit myth that is generated from someone jumping to conclusions.

I've noticed the media have stopped talking about the success rate of the testing, I wonder how many more people have been proved innocent or guilty with independant testing.
 
Actually there was something in Mx yesterday, in brief the main points were:

1. testing is continuing and now requires double the number of officers to handle the swabs

2. something like 1500 had been tested so far

3. lab results from these will be released really soon
