Remixes of old rock songs

He ( I think it was Icey) did a remix of " Blinded by the Light" I may be wrong, and i can't remember the name of the original artist. I kinda wanna say he did a "Teenage Wasteland" also, not sure if it was Icey or not though. They were breaks remixes.

I think the gayest remix was one that DJ 43 did of Bon Jovi's "wanted dead or alive'. IMHO its okay if he just did'nt use the vocal sample, but he did so its kinda wack.

There's this Beatles - Dear Prudence/Franz Ferdinand - Take me out white label on dancerecords.com. The samples sound sweet. Does anyone know the remixer?

Well, i got the Beatles and Franz Ferdinand white label coming on wednesday, but i still don't know who remixed those songs. I'll let y'all know what the full tracks are like once i hear them.

the bealtes "dear prudence" is done by slide (of cass & slide)

Im lovin the oldie remixs these days. I was at a party this weekend and heard one that I cant find anywhere. It was a breaks remix of "The Police Little black spot on the Sun" Has anyone else heard it, or know where to find it.

I've only heard one really good remix of an old rock song and it's Jimi Hendrix - Purple Haze (Pig&Dan breaks remix), it really kicks ass...

I LOVE "Stand Back" (orig. by Stevie Nicks) by Linus Loves... holy shit... that and "California Dreamin'" (I have no clue who remixed that)... f'in eh.

That would be Benny benassi.

iw ouldn't call any of those remixes "techno" either.... i haven't
actually heard ANY rock TECHNO remixes.... plenty of disco-y
and new wave stuff (ie. DEAD OR ALIVE's "u spin me 'round")
but hardly rock music....

plenty of breaks (ask Adam Freeland and D:Fuse) and some
house... and even some jungle here lately.

gotta love people's inability to originate... ;)

"purple haze" by "the melovskys"
"on the road" by "total eclipse"
"smells like teen spirit" remix by "skazi" (this isn't old, right)
"berutek" (berutek is a rave soundsystem making hardtek remixes of the "beruriers noirs" which is a french punk group)

Freddy Fingers VS. Nirvana / Sex Pistols : Come as you are (BREAKS RMXS)

Another song in my mp3 collection is Skazi's remix of Seek and Destroy (Metallica, 1983... kinda old... well, as old as I am... oh wait, now I feel old...)
It's not all that great.

Yeah didn't like that much either, though Skazi& 40% made a pretty rocking mix of Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" tho they named it, for some reason "Smells like Humus Spirit" Hmmm . . .

1200 Mics did a psy-trance remix of Another Brick In the Wall, but its not very good at all, tho I only have it in mp3 and the quality is shite. I think a lot of their songs sound like old rock songs (High Paradise, Mescaline) in a good way. Whilst this is not a remix as such, on their latest album The Time Machine, 1200 Mics penned a tune called Rock Into The Future. Its one of those great rock/trance tunes complete with guitars and whatnot. GMS ( i think the song is called GOA or something) definetly either ripped off Breathe by the Prodigy or remixed, I dunno what, but it sounds similar.
