Will have a look at those ones later mate. Got Screwed and Set Up on the DL now. Gonna watch them later then search for films for tomorrow.

I've not downloaded many films since the k drought took effect. Wont be quite the same without the magic carpet dust for a cheeky hole at the start of the film =D

Has anyone watched the Tree of Life ?
watched it about a month ago after wanting to see it for ages. I liked it. I'd give it a 6.5 outta 10. worth seeing.

the narrative is told through a series of random scenes and images and voice-overs rather than just action sequences.
visually lovely and kind of a 'mind through the eyes of a child' premise, and how we reflect on early memories later on in life with a different perspective to when we first experienced them. it's mainly about the need to resolve our fundamentally unanswered questions I think.

it's total self-indulgent nonsense too. I'm a huge David Lynch fan, and I'd consider him massively self-indulgent, so that's not really a criticism, just an observation. but the ending [or the observation of Penn's 'resolution'], was complete arse due to said indulgent wankery, imo

Did you give it a watch yet?

rewatched 2 flicks while curled up in bed today. I highly recommend both:

Wish You Were Here ..
up yer bum! ... etc etc
Tom Bell makes a great pervy uncle.

and also:
Hard Boiled
I've got a huge framed version of the poster below.
highly stylized shoot-outs and cute, fat babies = win

This!

I like Lynch too, and Gaspar Noë and I'm a fan of 2001 but I found Tree of Life interminable and the ending (OK I admit it did eventually end!) was so cheesy I could have had it on crackers. Lots of interesting ideas and beautiful cinematography but, I felt, ruined by lack of editing.

yeah, it's mainly montages rather than scenes.

I'm totally with you on the ending. I remember reading an interview with Sean Penn after I'd seen it. he was asked what he thought about it, and his only response was , 'um, yeah Terry never did get back to us when we asked him about it, we were supposed to talk about it at some point'. Sounds like Penn wasn't too chuffed with it either

anyone bored or wanting something to watch right now, should just put channel 5 on quick smart.

What About Bob is on
it's one of Bill Murray's decent 90's efforts. <3 Murray a ton and it's lulzworthy all the way through

Watched a film about a group of assasins last night called Wanted. Pretty decent twist in it and overall good movie.

Now about to watch Screwed %)

Will do while I'm sleeping. Watchd the Golden Compass at dinner now rest of Screwed.

Screwed was worth a watch but not up to the reviews I'd read. Limitless was decent but nothing special. I thought Wanted the film about the assasin code was pretty good last night.

Downloading Pans Labyrinth, Bill Hicks - Just a Ride and Hunter S Thompson - Buy the ticket take the ride.

Best film I've seen lately is Bunraku

The story of a a young man who has spent his life searching for revenge only to find himself up against a bigger challenge than he originally bargained for.

Pretty shit summary but it's set in Japan, lots of fight scenes, good plot. I think it was described as Sin City meets Kill Bill which to me is a perfect desription.

Trailer: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1181795/

watched the new Charlie Brooker drama/satire Black Mirror earlier on CH4. The only thing I have to say about that is, Bunny Lebowski wants her toe back, you pilfered eeet!

just watching this on CH4, havent seen it in ages. I'm not Clint's biggest fan but I like some of his earlier stuff.
faaawk I hate adverts tho, they totally ruin movies. nice reminder of why the only TV I generally watch nowadays is downloaded.

wrong documentarys, the bill hicks one is "american, the bill hicks story" and the hunter one is "gonzo: the life and work of doctor hunter s thompson"

my bad, should of said before. think the other ones are shit compared to those ^

just finished watching Transformers 3, good film, noticed it hasn't got a very good review but i enjoyed it. plus the asian guy was pretty funny

I remember reading that the 3rd also has some recycled scenes or footage from the 2nd too, which doesn't sound great

1st one was ok for novelty factor and a generic action flick, the 2nd was a total bag of shite. I wouldn't waste my time on the 3rd

yeah the 2nd was pretty shit, dragged out fight scenes got annoying, 3rd is worth a watch though

This is probably old news to most of you, but I just watched The Sixth Sense, and I was pleasantly surprised.
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas on the other hand - just doesn't do it for me. IDK, tried to watch it for several times and never got past one hour. But I apparently have bad taste in movies, so...
