Tried to watch Boss Nigger but it was too shite for my comedown brain to handle

Watched a British film late on tele last night called Mojo. It's not brilliant by any means but it's not bad either, pretty watchable.

The sexual rivalries over a new, potentially great rock'n'roll singer between a nightclub owner and a local gangster cause unrest and eventually lead to murder

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119690/

Martyrs is an interesting watch...There is another French film by Gaspar Noe(Irreversible,Enter the void) I saw that I couldnt even finish. Its called I stand alone(Seul contre tous )
saw that on a full screen at the cinema ... it's nawt what one would call 'feel good' ;p

I <3 casper noe lots ... I always end up comparing him to the american Larry Clarke for some reason [who I'm not sure about ..] Casper's got something .. dunno whut tho

also re: martyrs .... meh .. Ive been a horror fan for years ... romero and argento are legends ... Cronenberg is my ultimate film deity, bar non, but martyrs, much like Saw, and a whole host of other recent horrors get the label of torture porn, and i end up just having to switch it off. it makes me fucking cry in the end tbh.

I like humans x

Haha I was too spaced out and fragile minded to deal with it, might try and give it another go when I'm baked. The opening titles are brilliant.

Watch the trailer for Boss Nigger. You'll understand what I mean. Christ, even the name kind of gives it away. It's hardly a cinematic masterpiece. It's a blaxploitation film set in the wild west about a man called Boss Nigger who rocks up to some town & tells all the "crackers" that he's the new sheriff. 70's Cadillac pimp music plays whenever he rides off on his horse for fuck's sake lol

I may have said this before, but yes - "Senna" was grand :)

I watched "The Island" the other night, it's been out for a while (randomly found the Duh-Vuh-Duh downstairs) and enjoyed it quite a bit. It has hints and bits and bats of many Dystopian films: "Logan's Run" and "THX 1138" spring to mind especially - the latter is one I'd highly advise - It was what the little midget who made "Star Wars" did before making "Star Wars" and the special effects, knowing that are fantastic!

La Zona, a decent Mexican film, is about to come on BBC2 now. Think I'm too tired to watch it again now but have recorded it for later. Saw it at the flicks a few years back.

About to watch...

Outrage (can't be arsed looking for the proper title)... Japanese Yakuza flick.

Looks good.
