Watched Sunshine last night. Was very impressed by it, but I love sci-fi anyway, but this was sitting on the edge of your seat mind-blowing stuff. Still thinking about it today. Always a good sign if a film makes a mark on you like that.

I'm a big fan of Sunshine, especially the soundtrack. I can't understand why this film wasn't bigger.
 
I finally watched Martyrs. Possibly the most brutal and gruesome film I've seen. That scene with the hammer was fucking horrible, I actually felt like I could be sick and was hiding behing a cushion because I couldn't bare to look. Still loved it though. :D
 
Mr Spade are you talking about the French film Martyrs? The one I recommended ages ago as fucking absolute gold?
Absolute head damage from 1 minute in, thats pretty much 3 films in one and just as you think you know whats happening it changes radical tack?

If so, then good. As its the best French horror film I've seen yet. And if it were to be put on the "torture porn" rack it would be the only good one.

Also, If we are talking about the same film (as you can't spell) tell me what she saw and then told the old woman about?

Mate we are talking about the same film yes. French flick. The scene with the hammer near the start was horrible. It was after your recommendation here I added it to my lovefilm list I'm guessing.

Not gonna go into the details of what she did or didn't see / tell the women as it'll kinda ruin what the films about a bit maybe and I know a few folk want to watch it.

Fuck me, I'm finding a way to watch it soon as, its just too good for 1 viewing.

Top film that, Tekken. Recommended it myself in one of the earlier threads. You forgot to mention Tom Waits too - almosty always a good sign :)

Martyrs has downloaded so may watch it in a bit. This is why torrents are the shit and Lovefilm and their ilk are just shit. Like the sound of a film? Click your mouse a coupla times and it'll be with you in minutes rather than months.Copuwrite theft really is both big and clever ;)
 
I would cancel my lovefilm subscription, but my access to downloading is limited. Most of the pirate stuff available to me eg 98%+ is what others have downloaded, so I can only so often ask for specific films. Since I primarily watch horror or subtitled films, then I generally get refused. Also people round here have a phobia of anything other than torrents, even though certain other ways are much faster and have more films on. I can't find "cookers" for shit on torrents, but I bet its out there. Considering I got it off lovefilm, then it definetly exists.
PS Shambles piratage is fucking quicker than someone who isn't mine's is. Fucker......3 hours left I tell you:|
 
Not the lovefilm versus torrents debate again. :\

I like lovefilm, it suits me better than torrents for a variety of reasons and I'd like film makers to keep making good films so I'm happy to pay for the rental service (well when I'm not using free trials :D). Even if only a small amount trickles back to the folk who make the film it's better than nothing. :)

However, since pirate stuff is usually AVI, then its wank to watch on TV.

Of course fucking Evad downloaded both in DVD-burn quality in 10 mins.

God I might have to get some heroin now.
 
decent AVIs are hard to tell apart from DVD really, I've started going for mkv blu-ray rips now though 720p video is much better looking than those dated DVDs ;).

I don't have my own internet connection. Work damn sure isn't going to let me use it....and the people I know who do have connections refuse to pay any money, even if its like £6 a month for rapidshare.
Basically they are all shit and should be beaten for using torrents.

On topic I watched Harry Brown recently (this is the exact type of film people I know will happily download as its got an English legend in and a bunch of scummy drug dealing cunts......) and I was surprised to quite like it. Try getting anyone to download anything with subtitles and they just about throw a fit.

I also watched Pineapple express, which was ok. I want to watch that Seth Rogen film where he doesn't play a cuddly teddy bear and is instead insane....I'll look into which format that'll be coming to me on......most likely dvd...or AVI.
