Recommend another good movie per post

Bastards. :|

They're also remaking Suspiria which is deeply traumatising for me. :(

Fuck's sake! Is nothing sacred? Some things really need to be left alone :\

Or maybe I'm just being a cynical ol' sausage. They could be brilliant... they could...

Have heard good things about the Last House on the Left remake that had "classic ruined" written all over it. Will maybe check it out at some point to give it a chance. The Hills Have Eyes remake was surprisingly good and it's the same fella directing I think so maybe - just maybe...

I second this recommendation, real good stuff, don't understand it well at all yet but it's a great head space.

Apparently not. :\

I still can't bring myself to watch the remake of Hairspray. =D

Hmm, I was a bit skeptical on TLHOTL remake after seeing the trailer. And yeah, I quite liked The Hills Have Eyes remake too. Even though a lot of people weren't very keen on it. But then I didn't really like the original anyway.

I'm no movie buff, but I though it was bloody good!

Very predictable though didn't you think? Sort of film you've seen a hundred times before and a hundred more times to come. Nothing outstanding or special about it except maybe the special effects of course but they don't make a film for me.

Tell me about it. Fuckin' John Travolta??? I don't think so :\

When the remake of Pink Flamingoes is announced I'm heading to Hollywood and going out Columbine style :|

Last House will never be a patch on the original cos they just can't make films as brutal, sleazy and twisted as that these days, but supposed to have some nice twists and the right feel to it to not be a complete wrongun.

The original Hills Have Eyes is classic - love it. The remake didn't fuck with the original too much without being a shot-for-shot waste of space - was impressed. Sequel was shite, but the original sequel was shite too so fair enough really :D

Not really a film, but i love watching the cocaine cowboys. It's a documentary about the cocaine trade in miami in the 70's and 80's.

I've been watching the stuff on my Hard drive this week.2 of them:
1.Jay and Silent Bob strike back.....really not good :|.
2.Clerks,first time in 12 years and this time I was stoned and laughed all the way through it.Remember when it came out and found out about how it was all shot at night whilst everyone worked normal jobs in the day and there was zero money about.Knew I had to watch it and went to the local art house in 1995,but as with many comedy films that I watch in a depressed state I just thought it was clever rather than funny.Watched 2.5 years later completely drunk and didn't laugh once.Saw Mall rats in 99 and thought it was the worst film ever, but saw Chasing Amy in 2000 and was ok.Gave up on Kevin Smith.
Anyway had these 2 films stashed away and finding myself inebriated and up for a laugh I watch them back to back.
I'd give JASBSB maybe 4 out of 10,And Clerks 9 out of 10.

Someone recommend this a while back and I've just watched and can confirm it's good...

The attention to detail in the animation is outstanding. :)

^T'was me that recommended it. I'm pleased you approve. ;)

Worth watching purely for the fact that Eliza Dusku wears a cat suit in it. 'nuff said. :D

2.Clerks,first time in 12 years and this time I was stoned and laughed all the way through it.

I really dislike that film. In fact, it fucking annoys the shit out of me. :|

You got the Eliza Dushku bit right.Nearly came on the spot when that happened:D
I like probably half of Clerks jokes, but put up with the fall flat ones because I admire the fact that it got made for $25,000 and somehow he got $6 mil to make Mallrats which is horrendous.

Think that most of what comes out of Jays mouth is the opposite of funny.
I also like the way that every character in Clerks, possibly apart from Dantes current girlfriend is some serious kind of a cunt.Usually there are more likeable characters in films.

Misanthropy FTW;)

^I reckon I'm a bit of a misanthrope so I can relate. Have you seen anything of Todd Solondz work, brokenbrain?. Much more amusing people to hate in those films. =D

I'm recommending Perfect Blue:

trailer

I'm not one for Manga, but I watched this last night and really got into it.

That trailer has a corny voiceover tribal, it's put me off.

Anyone know anything else like Spirited Away? Wouldn't mind watching some more animated films but not neccessarily Manga.

Huh, yeah I know what you mean about the dubbing. It's inevitable with a Manga film though. It's generally what puts me off as well tbh.

In regards to Spirited Away. There's still so many I have to see.

I wasn't talking about the dubbing, it was the voiceover on that clip.

You can probably put subtitles on instead of dubbing, which is what I did with Spirited Away.

dvd bronson?

Anyone watched the dvd other the prisoner who called himself bronson?
