Just watched two good movies:

Tombstone which is a western about Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday

Crank, which has it all - action, drugs, public nudity, surrealism and black humor =D

Peace o/

This weekend is going to be a cine-tastic one for me!

Two cracking looking films released, Let The Right One In and 50 Dead Men Walking.

Let the Right One In is a very stylish looking, twisted, Swedish, horror / fantasy film with a child vampire. Looks fantastic.

50 Dead Men Walking is the true story of Martin McGartland life. Recruited by the British police to spy on the IRA he works his way through the ranks, feeding info to the coppers until he gets found out and kidnapped. Looks brutal!

I wish you'd stop recommending films that you haven't seen yet:|.Admittedly I might be breaking my cinemafast to watch LTROI,but I'm not recommending it till I've seen it.:\

I'm not recommending them as such just informing folk of them as they might wish to see them.

50 Dead Men Walking sounds pretty interesting, Spadey. Might try see that meself.

Nice one, get some pick n mix. :D

There two cinemas round here I go to, one doesn't sell any snacks, sweets or popcorn and other has horrible popcorn and a small selection of sweets.

Both cool as fuck places though, great selection of films on show and cool cafe bars so I forgive them. :)

God I miss Pick n Mix <3

Cinemas round here don't sell much I don't think. There's two in York, one is Warner Bros or whatever they're called now, Vue I think and that sells hideously overpriced stuff. There's one in the city centre that's good though, shows your black n white French stuff and has a decent bar from what I've heard. Never been though. Don't go cinema much, keep meaning to but the old anxiety tends to kick in when I do.

We have the Vue here, I hate it and refuse to go, same with Odeon and other chains. Total snob that I am but they just don't cut it. They show films I'm mostly not interested in, are overpriced and full of annoying kids / teenagers.

No kids or teenagers at the indie cinemas round here, cheap tickets, good bar and can drink in the screen. Perfect!

I've heard The Orphanage is very good so I've just added it to my lovefilm list.

Me too, I've liked most of his other films so I'm looking forward to it. ^

Actually it turns out Guilermo Del Toro didn't direct this as I previously though..

I don't even know who 'he' is nor what other films he's done?

Useless with directors etc. Can't name many actors / actresses either really. Strange considering my love for films. :\

Is the guy that directed Pan's Labyrinth and Hellboy amongst other films of great goodness, Spadey :)

He didn't direct The Orphanage but his mate did and, to be honest, it's such a similar story/theme/style to del Toro's own work that you'd be hard pressed to spot the difference - more like The Devil's Backbone than Pan's Labyrinth but thematically coming from the same place.

It's an excellent film too - the only film I've watched for many years that actually moved me to tears <3

May have just been having an off day though ;)

Hellboy looks bloody awful but haven't seen it and tried to watch Pans Labyrinth several times and have had to turn it off 30 minutes in, just cannot get into it despite everyone telling me it's magic. Maybe just tried watching it at the wrong times.

I think I may have recommended Before Sunrise (the first installment) in the other thread as I consider it to be one of my favourite films. In fact, I loved it so much I was too afraid to watch the sequel. It got to a point where I was convinced I'd be disappointed, let down, or that it'd end up being predictable nonsense. Anyway, I finally got around to watching it the other night after having the DVD on my shelf for over a year. Let it be known that I'm not one for romantic films, in fact I pretty much loathe them with a passion. But both Before Sunrise and Before Sunset have something very special about them. The way the two characters bounce off of each other is highly addictive to watch. Truly amazing. <3

I would show the trailer but tbh I don't like it. It makes it look like how you'd imagine it, and it really isn't like that at all.
