Some people say that you dont start really learning to drive until you first get let loose on the roads without an instructor, i think there's some truth in that, i almost crashed my car on my very first journey home alone after passing my test, i wasnt looking out for the indicator and break lights on the cars ahead of me sufficiently intently, and very nearly ploughed into the back of another car that had stopped for oncoming traffic on a long straight to turn right. I was lucky that i had very fast reflexes and reactions when i was 17, i needed them on several occasions.
(Sorry for the lecture, dont mean to put a downer on your achievment, i just mean it takes quite a while before you switch into auto-pilot mode when you watch out for and notice and do all the things you're meant to without even having to consciously think about it)
