Really Nice Codeine Thread

Obviously I wouldn't do that without speaking to my doc first because of the pregnancy.. but ideally I would rather suffer for a few days than prolong this anymore! .. only reason I'm tapering is because of my pregnancy and the risk of cold turkey causing miscarriage.
i sont have any withdrawals at all, other than feeling very low no energy. I don't even feel tired, It just feels that gravity has gotten ten times stronger and my body feels like lead! But mentally I'm not tired at all! X

I can't seem to avoid codeine, was at a friends at the weekend who has co-cods 30/500 for chronic pain - except now to reduce addiction they're prescribing codeine and paracetomol in separate boxes apparently - so they had shitloads of pure codeine tablets and expectedto manage pain accordingly. Can't see that going wrong... They don't get on with codeine ironically so you can just say I was treated :\

But yeah, opiates are nice when you have an unlimited supply, not so nice otherwise...

Good luck Dark Side

Tbh I think separate prescribing of Codeine and Paracetamol is a great idea from a HR perspective. As opposed to the common 'if I balls up this CWE I will overdose on 15g of a hepatoxin without even knowing until tomorrow when it's too late to treat' risk that many take, both for recreation and for legitimate pain management. My opiate tolerance is such that 450mg Codeine is the minimum analgesic dose, closer to 600mg for the analgesia it once provided at standard, therapeutic doses. That would mean 20 tablets at 30/500, 10g of Paracetamol is a massive, and massively dangerous, dose.

I'm sure health professionals are aware that adding poison to addictive medications was a rather misguided idea that, combined with a lack of HR education, has killed many people.

I never used it personally, was switched to the current formulation before my use began.
I do recall many anecdotes of people being unaware that the splitting method no longer split anything and unwittingly OD'ing on Paracetamol on a daily basis.
Given they were only receiving half the dose they would use, I can imagine many ended up doubling up on the combo...

Hi, Bad Besty,

Thank you so much for replying! :) you are all so lovely here, and are always there when ppl need you :') .. this forum filled with lovely ppl such as yourself makes things a lot easier, and helps me to stay positive.. so thankyou :) ...
yes, my kids keep me going, although right now I could walk out the house and scream the way they are playing up.. but I don't have the energy to do that either! Lool! I keep reminding myself of how amazing my future will be and that I will no longer wake up feeling awful and raging to the medicine cabinet for them pills! .. That day I really am excited for :) .. I'm amazed that I've come so far already.. As they say tho, "you never know how strong you are, untill being strong is your only option left" and that is so true! .. how long have you been a member here? Xx

Byecodeine, this forum is incredible, and the vast majority of its userbase are even more incredible.

I sincerely hope you stay around. <3

Thanks sprout! :D .. I shall do :) .. I have this incredible willpower at the moment and I'm taking full advantage of it.. I can't believe after 3 years I'm finally tapering with only fatigue as a side effect.. Each day I feel more alert and awake! I've been in the 4 a day with no relapses at all for 7 days now.. I feel more than ready to drop my dose to 3.. I just have to speak to my midwife first.
so how far have you all come in your recovery?

fk sake i have aload of Capsules. the plastic ones. How do i go about abusing these do i just pour the contents into water?

Fk sake im such a mong why did i buy these

Zapain, COdiene and para 30/500's. Surely its the same old shit just in a plastic cap and less binder?

Zapain ?? I've only ever had the Zapain tablets but checking online I see there are also red and clear capsules.

I very much doubt there is any time release mechanism, the patient information online seems to be identical to the tablets. I don't know for sure but I'd guess you could do a CWE just the same by emptying the contents of the capsules out.

Honestly mate its the cleanest looking cwe ive done in ages, i cant believe people with access to scripts dont do CWE's, it takes no time atall when you aint having to CWE 64 pills. I think it was fine Allein, water was transparent and a little Para in the filters if anything it was probably quicker then normal pills

^^ :) thought as much, I had a script for them for a good while until tolerance got the better of it, things have escalated somewhat since then.

I've never had the capsules and didnt even know they existed but I've CWEd a fair few of the tablets, you certainly get a much better return with the 30/500s, enjoy

For CWE the capsules are a bit more hassle than crushing tabs with a mortar and pestle, but the process is cleaner. I only prefer the tabs because I can break them in half, which normally you wouldn't do if you have any kind of tolerance or aren't as sensitive to this stuff as I am.

Paracetamol does very little for me, it might bring my temperature down if I have cold but for pain it's infective, can't take NSAIDs either due to a previous bleed.

My doc switched me to the 30mg codeine tabs so I could take them as required, when you're taking them everyday CWE isnt very practical. The pleasurable effects of codeine disappeared really quickly, maybe kicking the dose higher would have helped but 300mg did little other than moderate pain relief.

I guess from the little experience I've had with opiates they just don't hold a huge amount of interest, although when your in daily pain it's difficult not to depend on them to relive that pain, I've managed to hold my pain killer on the lowest dosages I cab function with I think the XR meds are easier to handle in that respect

Compared to other Opiates / Opioids Codeine attaches to receptors that cause a lot of the physical displeasures of Opiate withdrawal.
Especially the gut and RLS. It's a right cunning little cunt :sus:

yet it can be used to ease the symptoms of tapering off stronger opiates, with quite a brisk sharp taper, say one month maximum for example? Or those which might have a very long physical and PAWS sting in the tail at the end of them?

I think im gonna have to re-think my idea of using codeine to get off kratom, the thing with kratom w/ds isnt physical, thats very mild and shortlived, but the low mood that lasts for fucking weeks on end. I spose i could try switching strains, ive had some success with that this week as that helps a lot with tolerance issues, but it isnt 'winning the battle' just changing opponents. I guess ive got myself down to one of the mildest of the semi-opiate like substances, and am sort of maintaining on that. Progress, of sorts, i guess:\

Funny you should say that noodle, you know i used to think one morning i will wake up sick and needing. That would be the point i crossed the line and got addicted, but nah i was already addicted. I used codiene once in 7 days and did kratom loads this allowed me to look at my habit from the outside and realize what a shit mess i am.

These are my physical symptoms, fk all energy, sneezing , runny nose, slight aches in legs. kratom covers it all up bar sneezing and runny nose, physical wd's are minor for me. The mental side to it is the worst for me, craving and misery do me in. On monday i had no kratom and no codiene and i spent all day at work gagging for it, barely had an appetite either.

Curious has one of the biggest habits i seen on this site i remember reading he said his physical wd's were a walk in the park but the mental side is a bitch, its different for everyone i think

Edit- That is progress mdb, just stick to the kratom. It is just opiate replacement therapy though like an E-cig for tobbaco. Well i suppose you could look at it like a taper, still better then boshing pills

I've never been a huge opie person, but I've recently found myself with access to 500/20 APAP/DHC. How do I get the most out of these with the least damage to my poor unfortunate liver?

I'd keep it to 1-2 weeks for tapering purposes myself. Beyond that you'll only have to taper the codeine too and - as noted above...

It's proper shithouse to come off an actual codeine dependence/addiction. Far, far more so than the effects themselves would suggest.
