Hmm. The digital age has brought us some exchange of of ideas but mostly it has brought us porn and Brittney Spears blogs. As far as variation replacing polarity, obviously you don't read any of the Richard Dawkins threads. Even among the self-proclaimed "enlightened" polarity is very much still alive and well.
As far as jealous goes, first of all you don't know anything about my bank account, and second I'm very happy to not be enamored with material goods that bring no personal fulfillment...

RC, a lot of the ideas you stated sound eerily similar to a book I am currently reading, Dark Ages America, Have you read it??

I looked it up, found a couple of excerpts from a chapter on the dumbing down of America. Pretty disheartening stuff. Sounds like reality may be even worse than my impression of it.

Curiosity, research, boredom, entertainment.......there are many different reasons we use RCS none of them involve any type of addiction in my case.
exploration etc....I didn't really mean boredom. I haven't ever just been bored and decided to take research chemicals. There have been a few instances where i was a bit spontaneous with my decision but never impulsive. Most of my journeys are pre-meditated
I normally know what chemical I am going to take, where I am going to take it, how much I am going to take, who I am going to take it with.....roughly what I will do. All these are subject to change before I take the drug but normally they remain somewhat stable. At the last minute I might decide to take +- 1mg but not a huge leap.
I think research chemicals are interesting because you can change one chemical and you are in a whole different ballpark. I notice lots of similarities between the tryptamines and the phenethylamines and between drugs of the same class. Every experience is a life lesson that provides me with some different insight about the world around me.
Do some people put themselves off as rc snobs or something of that kind? Some people are very good at differentiating one RC from another and explaining the difference between 2c-e, 2c-b, 2c-b, 2c-i. The 2c-s are pretty unique and I imagine 2c-p and others are very unique also. DOX are fairly easy to distinguish too, and through research I have found DOC to be a wonderful chemical, one of my favorites. DOI and DOB turned out to be junk IMO....that's okay though I experienced them and its something that not many people have done. I guess in a way its nice to be able to say that you just experienced something no other person has experienced before. You can actually say that about any experience you under go. No man in history at this time has made this exact post in the exact location I am sitting. No one in the world has tripped in the same way I have tripped off of the same drugs I have tripped off of etc etc.. When it all boils down I'm sure the trip is VERY similar and I think most drugs will lead you to the same insights, a scenic path indeed, but a slightly different path for everyone. IM wondering about 2c-tXX are those all easily differentiated like 2c-t-2 and 2c-t-21 I bet at a certain point it gets hard.
I think, collectively, the average member of blue light has taken a bigger variety of drugs than your average individual. Look in the PD forum and I bet there are people here that are in the top 100 for having taken the most "psychedelic" drugs maybe even more broadly, "Euphoriants." Thats a pretty bold statement but maybe true. There are definitely some combos that have been taken by plenty of people (coke + smack, lsd + mdma, mushroom + MDMA.....etc the list goes on forever) but I would bet there are some people here who have taken psychedelic combos that no one else in the history of the universe has taken. "Uncharted territory"
I think the better question is......Why the hell wouldn't you take research chemicals??? Just kidding there are as many reasons one shouldn't take them as one should its all relative. Those who choose this path are generally satisfied with where it takes them. There are many rcs I would like to have and a few I would like to take. For many it's just about the feeling you get when you get a baggie of vial full of something you have never seen. Some PD lover has a huge collection that would make us all droll.....you might even be the one with the collection

I don't see why the Aleph's necessarily couldn't be pleasurable at times. Isn't Aleph-7 basically 2C-T-7 with an amphetamine characteristic that doubles the duration and reduces the required dose? I'd guess it would be long, thoroughly exhausting, and extremely dangerous to overdose on, but with pleasurable moments like anything else.
Anyway, as far as I know there's no open market for ordering the Alephs, apart from custom synthesis... I suppose they're as interesting as anything else. The Aleph-1 chapter in Pikhal was a fascinatingly psychotic read. I tend to shy away from amphetamine related chemicals, personally, and things that last 20+ hours....

^ Aleph-1/DOT is basically the last one on my 'really, really want to try' list. If I manage to do that then it'll just be curiosities (unless something novel turns up) that I'll be left with. It was very nice when I eventually got to try MMDA - those (MMDA & DOT) were the two that were still on my wish list from when I read about the wide variety of psychedelic when I was at university some twenty odd years ago

Huxley saw what was at stake with the introduction of psychedelics to Western society. He foresaw the potential disaster. As things were heating up at Harvard, he told Leary to take it slow, abide by the rules, but he didn't. Huxley's grand plan was to begin by convincing the leaders, academics, and law makers that psychedelics have positive potential. This didn't mean making them illegal ... this simply meant continuing to explore the potential via means that were accepted at the time, and not promoting them uninhibitedly as Leary did. He knew they would be met with skepticism at best or fear and revulsion at worst. Unfortunately, psychedelics never had the chance to gain due respect.
Anyway, just wanted to make sure people don't get the wrong idea about Huxley. :D

Hey yeah I've read Island; interesting tale indeed- doesn't Moksha mean peace? Anyway, if you hear of discussion between Dr Leary and Huxley, the two did disagree on how psychedelics should be dissmenated- obviously Leary wanted everyone to have a try, Huxley didn't- I suspect his motives weren't elititst as such, but more an acknowledgmnet that society wasn't ready to be painted rainbow colours. I mean, the story of Pala isn't exactly one of great happiness really- a utopian society under threat from the big wigs.
Either way, I accept Leary's message better and genuinely liked the man (well, posthumously) because he sought (initially) to change the human spirit, whereas Huxley seemed to consider psychedelics a way of opening the senses to more implicate beauty- very useful and lovely for sure, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Either way, prohibition and free psychedelic use don't appear to work. Props to leary for destroying scinetific method in his reasearch though- the idea of studying psychedelic objectively is simply stupid.
As to Aleph-7, is that not the compound thought to ellicit the "Beth" state of no apparent affect, but somehow a heavily altered conciousness that can't really be traced/accounted for? I think Anne Shulgin said the only danger with this compound was dying of boredom!

To explore different areas of your mind and for a new experience. Trying something you never have tried before is an interesting/exhilarating experience, I say who cares if theres risk. Life's too short, I wanna have a good time.

The MIND part is whats important, not the god-like shit or the world 'enlightenmnet/domination'. Some people are never going to think like you and respond to checmiacal like you, so whats the point of thinking that psychedelics cando anything except what is exactly determined that they do? What problems have you solved? Not trying to be aggressive here, but I want the evidence that psychedelics solve any "problems".
