oh for fuck sake lol

Ah well, so far so good

time to order me some etiz and 6-apb

ignore them all. I liked all seasons. not perfect but deffo watchable, and funny imo, yes even in season 3 after the irish guy leaves

Dunno really, Mr SB. Have never been scripted strong pain meds other than for addiction-related stuff. I get codeine and tramadol scripted for pain but me doc refused to script DHC on the grounds of it "being abusable" 8)

If I didn't have the history of addiction I'd probly be due a morphine script. Pisser :\

I suppose different docs have different approaches to pain meds. Personally I can't see why you'd bother with mild opies if you're on a daily fent script cos they just wouldn't do anything. And fent is so fuckin' potent you'd need to be taking it regularly or risk overdose. Just seemed an odd addition on top of morphine and fent really. Frankly the oramorph would do shit all if you're using fent either. Cerainly can see why he has no need for the "lesser" pain meds if he's on a fent script - nothing else would touch the sides.

Usual practice (according to guidelines etc) is to convert everything to an equivalent dose of just one opioid, or possibly two. Most patients will get background analgesia, then extra for breakthrough pain - so these could be the same drug, or different, eg fent patches for background and oramorph for breakthrough. A breakthrough dose is supposed to be 1/6th the background dose so if you were on a fent patch your oramorph dose should be more than the standard 10mg, although often you'll need to be on something stronger. Sometimes patients end up on several different opioids tho. As you said, depends on the doctor and their skill/training/empathy..

Quiet night in, done fuck all except sit around listening to music and occasionally pretending to clean up. Did cook some good dinner tho :)

Hope everyone is well in EADDland tonight <3

I missed all of Misfits, might give it a try now though :)

Misfits does go pretty damn stupid after the first season. Saying it is on par with Breaking Bad is blasphemy. That part where they do the Nazi time warp was fucking ridiculous.

I thought it was shite after the first episode.

Does anyone know is this dislike button on facebook legit? 2 people telling me it works, I can get it to though?

well if anyone needs an alternate choice for their night's viewing, I'd advise you all to go over to the movie thread where we're having a bit of a film club night, and all watching 'Goon', which comes highly recommended by MSB. classic method actor Seann William Scott stars.

Find a copy of it to 'purchase', and come n' join the fun and tell us your thoughts after watching!

comes with a solid 7/10 on imdb, so you can pretty much guarantee it's gonna be decent

=D

the nazi ep was meh, I'll agree.

piss taking aside (momentarily ;p) .. I think we should actually start a real 'this week's film to watch' kinda thread btw ... will do one next week if i can be arsed

What did you actually think to it lol? I would sum it up as "surprisingly good". I like the idea of a BL film club, we probably lack the time and will for a book club.

That's not a bad idea at all is that, Mz Marmz. If anyone actually bothered to join in I reckon it'd be a great way for folks to maybe get to see some fillums they'd normally never think of. I'd certainly never have considered summat like Goon if it weren't for the kerfuffle momentum it built up. Not started watching it yet cos it's still in the process of being *ahem* legally purchased. My bank must be slow authorising the payment or summat...

^ I'm up for that :D

I love watching films but somehow rarely get round to it when I'm on my own, so that would be perfect :) I also tend to go on recommendations from friends..

I think we should choose films that we can actually dissect and have an opinion on. Perhaps we could all nominate something we haven't seen then do a vote?

^ Could have a weekly poll, I don't mind sorting that if members can't make em (not sure) and then discuss last week's choice in the thread, new thread each week type thing? Or decide amongst yourselves each week what film we're all going to watch, or take it in turns to suggest one, or we could just make a list of films covering the next few mths and work our way through them..

Whatever works :D but give me a shout if you need any pollings.

I refuse to have Goon put down as my choice of film to make everyone watch. That was pure accident, and a very dedicated trollololol on everyone else's part lol. I don't mind waiting to choose til last, but I wish to have that expunged from my record! Haha.

it wasn't awful. I lol'd for realz a coupla times in thee bath .. silly things like his japanese gesture.

5/10 tops. one dimensional characters but not in a forgivable wes anderson kinda way, which alludes to other things in the process

most films are awful though tbh & mainly entertainment based.

If we have goon as MSB's choice and the starter of our film club... sounds like the most logical route to go down?
^^ I'm in firm agreement =D

LOL @ accident. PTCH can definitely legitimately beg to differ with you on that one

motion denied

all in favour of goon say I

Probably shouldn't get too into the planning and organising stuff - we all know how famously brilliant at such stuff EADDers are ;)

Recommendations + poll would probably be ideal... whether it'd work or just be a bit of an arseache for the mods then fizzle out is another matter. Worth a try maybe?

MSB: Don't think it matters whether or not whoever recommends a film has seen it before or not so long as enough other folk haven't and are up for giving it a go really. Can see why a blank slate on all sides may seem like a better bet for generating debate rather than one person trying to convince everyone else of their long-cherished opinion maybe but still don't see it would be much of a problem.

Anyone can recommend anything, everyone else will hopefully be up for giving anything a chance, and let the votes decide I say.

Or just take turns to recommend summat and skip the voting maybe.

Am easy me.

I gave it extra points because I was expecting absolute shit, and the stupidity really got to me because I was reasonably high.

re the film thread. I want to pick my own to choose .. so non of this voting bollocks. fuck that

vote for who gets to choose for that particular week you mean?
I'm down for that. and people should be able to be able to be chosen more than once, that way if someone keeps recommending good stuff that others generally like, they can keep getting nommed
