Oh the joys of knowing folk with terminal diseases who coincedentally neither like taking nor use much of their vasty opi scripts. I realise that sentence makes me sound like a massive cunt but it can surely be naught but a Good Thing to wring some value out of somebody else's shitty situation. Don't think he knows anybody else who'd be interested in strong opies, he'd much rather have the diaz (which he doesn't get scripted himself) and he's just a fella dealt a shitty health hand with no particular interest in drugs in general (teetotal kinda chap). Price is more of a token kinda thing, I suspect. Bread, milk and a pack of baccy being better than boxes of pills he doesn't want stylee.

I ain't complaining anyway :D

I get all my oramorph and dhc from a poorly mate.

I'm not glad he's poorly. But I'm glad he has spare meds.

Just so happens that not everyone gets on so well with opies but also just happens to have longterm scripts for 'em. I gather he has a hefty stash cos he only uses 'em when absolutely necessary and would rather have a few diaz and a bit of petty cash at the moment. The "going rate" for any drug is only what it's worth to both parties, I'd say. To him oxy and fent are worth less than diaz and a few extra quiddles. And vice versa.

And wooty-woo-woo-woot for all concerned =D
 
My mate has fentanyl, and something else, pregabalin, gabapentin?...one of them anyway, that he uses, ...and he gets a load of oramorph and dhc on top that he just doesn't use/need/want.

But he likes to have a spliff now and then, so we both happy :)
 
My mother-in-law has large scripts of various opis and shit. Whenever I say anything like "i've got a headache", the general response is "o, would you like some morphine" :D
 
Bwahahahahahaha! Oh the innocence of those with scripts to die for and no particular interest in or specialist knowledge thereof. Gotta love 'em <3

MM: Fentanyl + morphine + DHC? Blimey that's an odd mix. You'd think DHC in particular would be kinda superflous on a fent script :D

Then again, three levels of potency for three levels of pain sounds eminently sensible. Must have one hell of a forward-thinking and decent doc. Good luck to him. I'm not jealous. Not a bit of it. Envy don't count as jealousy ;)
 
Sham, isn't that the standard prescription protocol usually? They'll say stack some paracetamol with some dhc then some morphine then some fent ontop of that won't they? In hospital they always make me eat my drugs in order of potency with about 20-40 minutes in between. Then after a few days I convince them to give up on the rest and just keep giving me paracetamol every 4 hours and a shot of morphine every 2 hours.

he has co-codamols too, lol, and you thought the dhc was superfluous...and amitrypiline...

I dunno if his doc is forward thinking or Shipmanesque...

Dunno really, Mr SB. Have never been scripted strong pain meds other than for addiction-related stuff. I get codeine and tramadol scripted for pain but me doc refused to script DHC on the grounds of it "being abusable" 8)

If I didn't have the history of addiction I'd probly be due a morphine script. Pisser :\

I suppose different docs have different approaches to pain meds. Personally I can't see why you'd bother with mild opies if you're on a daily fent script cos they just wouldn't do anything. And fent is so fuckin' potent you'd need to be taking it regularly or risk overdose. Just seemed an odd addition on top of morphine and fent really. Frankly the oramorph would do shit all if you're using fent either. Cerainly can see why he has no need for the "lesser" pain meds if he's on a fent script - nothing else would touch the sides.

Yeah but I think the point is you're supposed to stop at the minimum strength painkiller at the minimum dosage you can tolerate the pain at. Personally I like taking a sledge hammer to crack a nut, and all it takes is a sore back or some equally bollocks unprovable pain to justify hitting up some morphine lol.
 
Watching Misfits... so far this appears to be a fucking masterpiece on par with breaking bad etc, recommend watching this without a doubt
