Argh, I'm really sorry about that, fingers crossed for you mate. Do you mean that your natural bone is degrading? I really hope the metals are staying where they should, too. Sorry, that sounds kind of pathetic but I hope things are as OK as they can be.
Not good, not at all, been in tears most of the morning![]()
I think I would be too, given the circumstances. Can't be fun, especially as it seems to be down to their choice of hip replacement rather than any fault of yours.
Fingers crossed there are no problems on the blood test front.
Having a valium and a Westons and going down the allotment to sit in the sun and contemplate my misery for the afternoon I think %)
Are you a special case, or are they recalling these revolutionary hips up and down the country?
At least you didn't get those dodgy breast implants too eh.
No there are quite a few of us apparently...they developed these metal on metal hips particularly for younger active people, supposedly they had much less chance of dislocation, and would be harder wearing, longer lasting, and give us more mobility...
Wow, this is impressive: Girls Go Wild in Amsterdam Red Light District
Arrived in Cambodia at the international airport. My very legit taxi driver offers me weed, mushies, opium, mdma, girls and guns after 2 mins. By 5 minutes he's inviting me to the beach with his family tomorrow. One hour later I'm in a bar and getting chatted up by the bar maid, 30mins later I randomly bump into a mate.

I might just like this city a whole lot more than I did last time as I hated it here, stayed in wrong part of time and didn't give it a chance.

It's mostly males under 50..
Consultant told me today most of them have been showing probs after 4-5 years, but again, the more active a person, the more quickly the metal is deteriorating...should have an expected lifes[pan of 20 years or so...2 years is a pisstake...
The thing is, implants don't have to go through any clinical trials like drugs do before they are approved for use, it's bizarre...so these hips are basicaly untested, we (the peope=le who've had these implants) were basically guinea pigs...DePuy have been aware of problems with these implants for a few years, problems were being widely reported in 2008-2009, yet mine were fitted in 2010......
gaaargggghh, could go on all day about this shit..
Thanks for your concern everyone, really,
no, don't need the doddgy breast implants Albion, once you hit 40 you just develop moobs of your own![]()
I'm so sorry to read this Mr Monkey and sad for what you have in front of youyou're a strong bloke though, you'll get through it. This is also happening to my cousin and it's really hitting home now, he's got really depressed
They made all those promises to him as well and now this. Makes me fucking
I've heard mention of a compensation scheme - though appreciate its cold comfort right now. Do you know about this?
Your cousin has same hip issues? How old is he?How long have his hips lasted?
Yeah, I'm not interested in suing the hospital, I think they have actually acted in good faith at the time they made their recomendations, but I'm thinking of registering in one of many class action lawsuits being brought against DePuy/Finsbury and other makers of these hips, who ALL exploited legal loopholes to get their hips to market without clinical trials....
I just want good hips, but now the next replacements I have will have to be fitted onto grafted bone, as itlooks like the ones I've been given have already damaged my pelvis and femur so badly that some of them will have to be removed...i was told today I should have good expectations for my new hips (should I need them), but it's hard to believe when each of the last operations I've had have come with great hopes from the surgeons concerned...
EDIT>>>>oh yeah, takes FOUR fucking WEEKS for them to get my blood results back, only testing for cobalt and chromium levels, nothing else...![]()
