In what way is beating a human into a bloody pulp and taking a photo of it good for anyone?

the more vindictive libyans will prob find it theraputic.

i always find this difficult. if i had the choice between a quickish but v painful death and life imprisonment in prob horrible conditions (my guess as to the other option...), i'd choose the former. so from that persepctive they've been soft on him. so, i have no idea what my actual opiinon is.

Still, Gadaffi's wrongdoings (and there were many) don't really justify war porn or the further glorification of any kind of suffering. There are plenty of people I'd rather were dead (Thatcher being near the top of that list) but I wouldn't want to gawp at the cadaver.

Crikey.. They did beat seven shades of shit out of him :\
To be honest, I'm in the camp (ooooh matron) that says he got what was coming to him. Now the people of Libya have a chance of a democratic society - That is if some other mad cunt doesn't step up to the plate :|
Though yes, the photos / video (if it's about) isn't really needed for our eyes. Perhaps for the people of Libya, but there's no need for us to be witnessing it.
Then again, why should be divert our eyes of all suffering going on in the world?
**Thinks of Burma and the lack of news from over there**

Back from Doc's. She wasn't up for doubling all my Benzos, but did double my Nitrazepam and I was drinking mostly at night so it's something. Stuck with my Codeine dosage, gunna try my best not to drink but fuck it's hard.
I may end up not spending as much time reading on here as a result but will be about to mod reported posts and what not.

Anyhoo, seeing as I won't be spending as much time on here (and haven't lately really to be fair, feel a bit bad about that) then I will just give mucho <3 to everyone. I shall still be lurking in the shadows though ;)

Sentiment goes metric after years of opposition? You heard it here first.

You big Gadafty.

Hahaha bandit I hate when I spell anything wrong! :X

Basically this. He got lucky IMO. If it were my people he'd done that too I would want to see him suffer for what he'd done, and I'd bet there are alot of Libyan's who felt this way. Let them have it after what they've been through with it I say.

The Libyan people's desire for vengeance and Gaddaffi's blood is one thing. International news agencies circulating a photograph of his beaten, lifeless body is another. Can't help feeling it diminishes the humanity of the audience somewhat.

Then again, who's going to fully believe NATO sources since the first Gulf War? You'd have to be pretty silly.

Exactly, he was probably going to spend the rest of his life in prison anyway he was facing charges of war crimes was he not? He had the chance to give up though, he knew he was either going to win or get killed, im sure he was just shot because I sure wouldnt like to take a beating from a crowd of them..

good riddance, hes a complete wanker for what he did to innocent people. being beaten to a pulp is the least that he deserved before hes death.

uncanny resemblance to matey from Texas chansaw massacre

It's so that you yourself can verify he is actually dead ;)

We are still the same people who a few centuries ago would have gone out to see someone get beaten to death with a mace, or a spike shoved up their ass. People seem to need their blood. I agree it seems to be a pretty stupid thing to televise, I mean every tyrant who is facing an uprising in the future now knows they are going to have to fight to the death and be as brutal to their citizens as possible.

Public floggings, beatings and hangings still go on around the world today and it still draws in a large crowd all cheering and laughing about whats going on, its like two worlds apart

Precisely my man! That last mix was wicked like. I've got Adam Beyer Remainings III mix blasting loud as fuck, Corona in hand about to rack up a line of special K, no badgers for sale!!!

People do seem to need their blood, yeah. It's certainly not exactly new. Something you'd like to think had been left in the past but unfortunately not.

Well at least there wasn't the 'need' for full-scale civilian carpet bombing in Libya. I never quite got my head around the use of that tactic in 'liberating' cities...
