Opioids Questions on Oxymorphone use

Hey guys, I just have a few quick questions on oxymorphone use.

I've smoked marijuana quite a few times in the past, but just now started having availability to Oxymorphone 10mg (with prescription).
Last night I cleaned off (licked) the coating, dried the pill, cut it in half and after crushing the pill into a very fine powder, took in around
5mg's slowly over a 4 hour or so period. The experience was wonderful in every way, but I was wondering if any of you knew if I could do this again tonight
without danger of obtaining any sort of addiction.

How long would it take for me to develop an addiction if I do this every weekend? Would it be dangerous?

Sorry for the nooby question, but thanks for the help everyone.

First off, you need to be VERY careful snorting oxymorphone without an opiate tolerance to begin with. Oxymorphone is one of, if not the, most powerful opiate agonists out there. Forget addiction, you are risking a potential overdose.

Now if you are going to dismiss that and do it anyway, start off by limiting yourself to no more than a few times per month. Split the pill into more than just two lines...5mg is far too much to start with without an opiate tolerance.

For further info, search for the "Oxymorphone Mega-Thread"

What this guy said.

Opiate addiction tends to creep up on you. You'll eventually use once a week, then two times, then three, etc. Eventually you'll get to the point where you're dependent and just not give a fuck. After that point it's all downhill.

Dose twice a week at most, no matter what, and you should be alright. Well, except for tolerance... It's A LOT easier said than done though.

Thanks for the response guys.

I was extremely careful about it, starting out with a TINY amount and over the hours slowly taking a little more. I'm kind of surprised I was ok with 5mg...probably just because I spaced it out so much.
I'll be sure to be careful about it, and never use on weekdays will be my rule/way to keep myself ok with it.

Thanks!

EDIT: Oh, one more thing, I wouldn't have any sort of "withdrawal" symptoms during the weekdays if I just used on weekends, would I?

Even if u dont have any physical withdrawal symps (which are very posdible to attain after a weekend use... No doubt monday ull feel like shit)
Its the anticipation of getting high on the weekends that will be the onset of PSYCHOLOGICAL addiction, which can be more powerful and will very likely lead to physical dependency and/or addiction.

Bottomline if ur ready to change the chemistry of ur brain and end up a fullblown opiateaddict, attempting the "weekend warrior" routine is a great way to start. You are fortunate; you have been warned.
Peace love,
Ace.

Hah, I remember when I was first experimenting with opiates and I had my rules for usage. They were my special, awesome drugs to use on occasions or weekends. It takes a while, but opiate addiction creeps up on you and you think you're in total control, with all of the rules you come up for yourself that you inevitably start breaking and then justifying the use to yourself for whatever reason. Before you know it, you wake up and realize you're a slave to the shit. I don't want to sound preachy, but honestly it's saddening to see folks fall down the same shitty road I and countless others have because they try opiates and really like them.

Stick to the weed, maryjane is a far more rewarding, non-life-damaging high =D

I am assuming that by "addiction" you mean a physiological dependence? A person can get addicted to something before they get physically dependent. I would highly advise you stay away from opioids. If you are going to use oxymorphone force yourself to only use it once a month or less. The fact that you already want to do some more the next day does not bode well for you. The high is not worth the risk of addiction and there is no way to "prevent" yourself from getting addicted or know in advance if you will become addicted.

Usually a person has to take it every day for 3-7 days to become physically dependent, but some people get dependent more easily that others and doing it every other day is not going to prevent you from getting dependent. Plus you probably won't be able to stick to a schedule. You will start of using only on weekends but it will quickly move to a couple times a week, and before you know it you're using it almost every day.

I would not be surprised to get dependence after 4 days of consecutive use. For me, if I use it "once" a week, that is immediately enough times too many to trigger the vicious cycle. It's more like, when should I hit the reset button on my progress.

I'm glad to assume that this drug is not prescribed to you since you apparantly

Yeah, I'm done. I've had fun with this stuff, but no more. Thanks for the comments everyone, it was stupid to try this in the first place. Maybe once more over the summer, but not now.

Good guys on this forum.

Don't apologize man, you came to the right place, and I'm glad you're heading the warnings. Oxymorphone is highly addictive and has some of the worst withdrawals IME. I only used it for two weeks, and the kick was rough, even WITH buprenorphine. Best leave this beast be while you can.

Yeah everyone is right, try and kick if you can, which from your posts looks like you are. Getting into an Opiods sucks, you may not think so at first but it does. And you really don't wanna start with Oxymorphone, if you want to experiment start with Hydrocodone, better yet codeine. OxyM WD's suck, the worst I have ever expericenced, worse then heroin IMO. Granted I use every day/night but Im also a CPP. Im about to kill my last OG OxyM.

What dooes cpp stand for

What does cpp stand for?

I don't know about anyone else but I've been taking Oxtcontin and now Opana everyday for the past 10-12 years and I'm not addicted. I guess it's a frame of mind. Now, obviously I am physically dependent but I don't think addicted. For the record, I'm a fellow CPP too or as I like to say, a CP'er. Good Luck everyone and be careful out there!

Sweet Jesus, from weed to Oxymorphone 8o

Opioid addiction is extremely insidious, watch your ass

Are they time release opanas OP?

Or are they the instant release pills?

I was in the same boat as you (snooting oxymorph with no tolerance) and I found that what I read about the IR's (5mg being good for someone with no tolerance) didn't necessarily apply to the ER formulation. I needed SLIGHTLY more of the ER to get in a good place (about 6-7mg).

But then again, take it slow. If you feel good on 3 or 4mg, don't even try to touch 7mg of the stuff in one sitting.

took me 8 months before i realized i was addicted lol they are so beautifully crafted by the nectar of satan... stay away..

Oxymorphone has nothing to do with (satan) ? When you are weak willed, stay away...
"8 months, laugh out loud" ? wtf...? This med' has helped hundreds of thousands of chronic pain patients get out of bed and walk.
