Question for UK only/ ever successfully grown opium?

Got loads growing round here, plus my own crop coming up this year! grow so easy in britain but strength isn't as good as the industry standard hen and chicken, persian white varieties but still good! My friend thinks they have more codiene than morphine in britain.
reccomend making tea and not scoring unless you have high potency pods. just get more out of them.
I like to take a bin bag around the local area and just fill it up with stolen plants then brew a large vat of tea, reduce down to gloop, dry it till its like tar, roll the tar into balls and swallow. one or two lumps is like 400mg codiene.

just done a massive walk around my area to places i thought i would of surely found some

not 1 , not even the none opium types ..

i think they must have fucking eradicated in our area or something cos the place i just went a walk would of been the place to find some if there was going to be any

gutted , absolutely gutted

least i got a good walk in the nice weather

Give it a couple weeks mate, summer up there starts a good 4 weeks after it does down here.

If there's a lot of smackheads round your way they may be onto it.

.

Hen and chicks, Persian Whites, Giganticus etc are all readily available and perfectly legal to buy in seed form.

I have bought seeds from a french horticultural supplier before now.

just found 2 completely dried out dead poppies in a garden just now so i cracked open the dried out pods and there are all these tincy minuscule black things im guessing are the seeds , will they be any use if i was to plant them or will they be dead ?

i was kind of gutted there was only 2, i would of thought to see more with them having heaps of seeds

ther were things growing around them that were almost opening but they looked llike a thistle u know with the furry kind of stem

but they were kind of drooping over , is that a poppy or thistle ?

looked a bit like this http://www.flickr.com/photos/76631347@N00/4691197373/

have i struck gold ?

Haven't we seen a similar photo a page or two back?

Same answer, I'm afraid. Not an opium poppy.

Hopefully some techno-adept will post a photo of the leaf formation to look for at this time of year.

i think the other pic was more oval than round headed and more jaggy looking .. cant remember but this ones i have seen look different to the one i saw like the image i posted a few pages back

i know that the 2 i picked are poppies for sure though , proper pod with all the tiny black seeds so i still need to know will these seeds be dead since the pods were dried out or do they last long ?

ive tried google with out much luck for that answer tbh

EDIT: sod it im going to scatter them tomorrow , theres no point in making tea with only 2 pods worth and theres no harm in trying them in the garden.. what do i have to loose ? if i sit and look at them they aint going to do anything so might as well try , they will either grow or they wont

Suppose it's possible they've survived since last year. If they really are poppies, the seeds will be just fine. Sure, scatter them, you've nothing to lose.

But bear in mind it'll be probably next year before anything shows and the year after that before you'll get any kind of decent yield.

An essential part of harm reduction involves planning for the future.

this pic is an exact copy of what i found

gonna have a blast at making laudanum with a load of heads from a recipe on poppies.org

Dems de suckas, Smackcraft.

Good luck buying the sal ammonia, Evad. Seems just a matter of time before someone takes a leaf from the skunk book and starts morphine production at home.

Uh, huh. Despite the impossible logistics, Drug War genii were hip to a new possible menace a decade ago. Pharmacists like farmers are on full alert for the wrong people.

Obscure way of saying stick to the poppy tea or making a bit of sap for yourself.

Would be interested to hear, tho', if anyone has any luck making their own laudanum.

woo hoooo just found more that are opening and they are for sure opium poppies , the blue ones he he

some of them are already open but most are just getting ready , theres heaps of pods too ..

man its like xmas !!!

They are most likely Oriental poppies, THEY are in full bloom down here now while the somniferums are still in veg mode.....

Anything with a hairy/furry stem lor leaf is not a somniferum.

Somniferums are very light green and smooth leaves and stems.

Are you sure on your ID?

Are the pods SPHERICAL, or maybe oval....?

If the top of the pod is flattened, it's not a somniferum.

plenty of recipes about, may not be 100% authentic victorian bznz but as long as the actives are there i'm not too bothered.

good good .. these blue ones are in a different location and are nothing like the ones i saw yesterday and there are more of them so thats a good sign

The colour of the petals is irrelevant, it's the pods, leaves, buds and stems that ID the poppies.

yeah i know and thats what im saying these blue ones i have found are different to the ones i did yesterday with all the furry stuff on them

these are like u said smooth etc m thats why i said it was good cos they are more like what u described as an opium poppy to the ones i found growing next to the 2 dead ones i picked
