... I wonder what I would think of just lying quietly by myself!
... basically the mechanism in which life is able to experience itself
I've felt this way a few times. I'm currently building a myth around my understanding of this concept - that each thing capable of experience in this world is really just "me"-ness in another form. Perhaps that rock over there is what I will spend my next experiential lifetime as. Or my best friend. Maybe I'm just one entity that permeates the universe (aka God), and this fragment I call "my life" simply has limited knowledge and communication skills. In my experiences I've always felt that we are all the same entity: God. The same being experiencing life in all possible manners....
such knowledge impacts the way you interact with other people! Is very scary to think that "that old evil man other there" is me in "another time, with another view on life"... does anyone feel this too ?
Of course we can - but to do so will require that we believe we can make a difference. Can we really make a difference?
I think the most important thing is that we make legitimate people out of ourselves, and strive to better ourselves through legitimate and accepted means. Getting a good education is really important in this regard: you are many times more likely to be taken seriously if you are educated, this is a fact. Also I think its important to get involved with legitimate organizations, your unique perspective on an issue could be a turning point in the direction an organization takes especially if you've gained peoples respect and they respect your ideas.
I am afraid to turn around and face the mountains, for fear they will overpower me. But I did look, and I am astounded.
Touch is something that is a little taboo in our culture, "dont touch her", "dont touch that", "this is my space, that is your space". Human contact is something that can be so positive yet some people never are touched and Im sure they crave it.
Take your loving touch and pass it around![]()
Watch out for loonies is my advice!
I just started Massage School in the mountains and am loving it. Something that I have thought about a lot recently is how we can make touch a more acceptable form of communication in our communities. Ive talked about this with my classmates and we've sorta come to the conclusion that it really is as easy as "reaching out and touching someone." Im talking, non sexually, non aggressively, but softly and sincerely taking someones hand when your having a conversation with them. Rubbing someones back when they are feeling down, giving hugs freely. Shaking hands with strangers and making a positive physical connection. Touch is something that is a little taboo in our culture, "dont touch her", "dont touch that", "this is my space, that is your space". Human contact is something that can be so positive yet some people never are touched and Im sure they crave it.
