Which, it so happens, is a lot. Apparently hippos are quite aggressive and deadly and account for a lot of human deaths every year.

^Yeah, I've heard about that- but I reckon humans acount for more deaths then hippos re: other humans at least (and likely hippos).

I'd just like to say what an amzing discussion! I'm new to BL and this forum was the first one that really caught my eye. I've been experimenting with psychedelics for about 4 years now and I know for a fact that LSD was the catalyst for a great positive change in my life, its good to see some like minded ppl out there!

LSD has been very important in my case, for self discovery and self acceptance.
Under the influence of LSD I discovered a healthy love for my own personal being, the validity of my own existence, a break into individuation, and a constant connection with the body and biological respect.

Just wanted to say...
So many people i know have had an experience on LSD where they realise they are just part of the bigger whole that is 'life' People sort of have a feeling that humans might be the 'eyes and ears' of life, or basically the mechanism in which life is able to experience itself. Possibly we are the 'brains' of life (or at least one of the brains of life).
The funny thing is, all of the concepts that all you guys gravitate towards are centered around how we as humans (and part of the world at large) can best proceed into the future, or how society as we know it could possibly develop in a way that is the most beautiful - resulting in the most positive energy rather than negative energy.
Just by having those thoughts, all these people that enjoy LSD are actually playing the part of being a bit of a conscience of life. By discussing grand concepts about how humans should proceed, psychedelic users are acting in a way much like the eyes and ears, and brains of life. Or at least one echelon of life as i am sure there are many different layers of consciousness both more complex and more basic than us.
I have explained this really badly, as the english language (and my own brain) has limitations, but i hope someone gets what i mean.
Another thing i think about that is a little related, is how we as organisms developed senses such as eyes. Surely there must have been a point where they didn't quite work yet, but we had to make a decision to start trying to decipher the information coming in, and gradually over time and generations of gradual improvement come to trust them as a sense.
Maybe something like that could develop as a community thing. If we started to tap into what the energy around us was trying to tell us we might learn to decipher it as clearly as we now see physical objects.

But I get what your saying...If there is a collective unconcious, we are all contributing to it each time we think. I imagine it to be a pool of water that not everyone openly swims in, but everyone helps keep it full.

i think russell brand is one martyr for the power of love. although he is equally realistic these days too. watch his live performances you'll see what i mean
i think love and drug-fuelled epiphanies have existed throughout history, and for that reason we've gotten to where we are
the balance of the world !
but i also think people have been having these wonderful insights for a while too... like the sixties
some people began to wonder whether these ideals and dreams were truly realistic (this is around when the beatles released the "white album"). although of course dreams and realities cannot exist without one another.
but i think what's being argued often here is definitely right - our society needs to become more cooperative with nature, as oppose to the current combative state.

In my opinion, the key is education. It's as simple as that. All you can do is give them the choice, and the knowledge to make it thoughtfully.

education is the only way=> problem this education must change some 100 years of goverment/church mind control of the the greater majority of man kind. The media and the churches/governments still hold so much power over peoples minds and most people like to live in ignorance
There is some thing strange about experiences on psychedelics and even substances like MDMA/MDA, they are almost impossible to explain to other people in the way you felt them at that very time, especially if the other person has never taken anything.
In the start of this thread I mentioned how I could feel a lazer on my hands at a rave, for me to tell anyone how my whole body felt warm and at peace while spinning out at what I was experiencing was hard to explain the whole combination of feeling to other friends watching me even though they had tripped before...Im sure my Ayahuasca experience will be the same

I love youz!I wasn't sure if 2C-C was going to be the drug to show me anything about myself but 10mg up the bum got me to realize that I'm abusing caffeine.
Coffee's expensive so I bought some caffeine powder, and then I bought a cap filler to make that easier to take and before I knew it I had been using 200mg caps of it once or twice a day, and as much as 4 times a day around exams. I thought my eyes felt like they were wriggling around exam time from the stress but it turns out that caffeine raises intraocular pressure. I took it without a second thought because it's just the stuff in coffee. Except it's chemically synthesized 99.9% pure caffeine.
I'm glad I caught myself. Exams are coming up again and I'd probably go on another binge.

Amphetamine>Coffee. Since i started with psychedelics, ive been liking thrash metal less and less (i only listen to that whilst high on speed, mainly, now) and more and more hardcore techno and psychedelic liek the airplane and the dead. Not sure, bout why though.
I experienced this about a month and a half ago!! It was incredible!! I had this vision of all sorts of animals and organisms that were living and perceiving the world through their own eyes/existence (for those that have no eyes lol). I realized then that everything is everything and all life is just experiencing itself through different lenses. It was miraculous! It was the only insight that stuck with me that night. Oh how profound it was, but so confusing at the time because later after the concert ended I was trying to explain to my friend but I couldn't formulate the idea very well. So I went home and researched it and found that one quote from Bill Hicks. Right in that moment I was like damn, this is why I take psychedelics! This has to bear some truth!!
Nothing gives me insights like LSD. With the amount of crazy ideas flowing through my head at concerts and festivals, I wonder what I would think of just lying quietly by myself!
