^Sux eh? Awesome set from them though yest.... Were you at earthdance, I assume so? I went a bit later...

They've been gigging for years, and I've noiced the pair seem more narky then usual on Oztrance......what a pity; however, I can't see where they could have taken their music next.
 
Well, I am now loving Fungus Funk- F-people. Truly grown on me. Suomi is where its at for fullon. :)

The Dark Nebula album is defintely Luna Orbits best so far, nice bit of Bon Jovi thrown in, bit more melody plus the man likes Cradle of Filth, so he's alright by me.

In other news, I received a copy of Oforia- Inner twist through BNE. Absolute shit, I will not be upset if I never hear another crap israeli trance release. The Misted Muppet and Dark Soho are some of the only good Israeli acts left.

Anyway, Tribeadelic agthering looks cool, not many internationals though; I usually don't doof for NY though anyway. Rainbow Serpent looks great, Eat Satatic and the mighty Son Kite/ Minologue. I am also very tempted to go the Earthcore to check out ESP, Space Tribe, Menog and Bog- we'll see as I'm meant to be going to EGA around then.

Anyone checking out Pitch Black this w/end at the corner? If so, can you bootleg it for me ;)

Astroschnautzer are worth a look, some fine funky crazy beats to be found on their album :)
 
^I'm just SOOOO tired of crystal clean production- clciy kicks ala Infected Mushroom, buzzy 16th basslines, 808 ats ticking away, an open 909 and a gated clap. Thats the beat. Then flange everything and add melodies disguised with some delays and modulation as psychedelic. I think suomi rocks in genreal, but I also love the sounds of Sundance records, Acidance, Tribeadelic, Digital Psionics, Zenon- all beautoful sounding label styles with a great smattering of differetnt artists.

Can you reccomeend me some more good suomi? :)

Tom COSM is great;I don't likeelectro very much, but Ihear a wicked set by him somehwere :)

Krumeler and Ocelot- very disparate music styles there. Squaremeat, Texas Faggot are awesome, I also like Mandalvandalz.

Yeah I love that compilation.

Tom Cosm is the bomb. How fucking phat is the track 'Swagger'. It's off tap.

I really like psy style electro if it's done well, which Ultrapop 2 does!
 
funny I had never heard of Tom Cosm till i accidentally stumbled onto his live music tutes on youtube. Was looking for some ableton live vids, Cool guy to go to the trouble of explaining his setup, has some nice sounds going on in what i've heard of his tracks.

^I've got one Ferbi Boys album- nice hard beats- but the rest left me somewhat cold.

Yeah Tom Cosm is basically doing his best to explain why ANYONE can play electronic music live. Great guy
 
Still listening thru my stack of new cds, but so far Faerie Dragon Record's compilation No Tune Unstirred is top notch suomi grooving greatness. Its super happy crazy psychedelic stomping madness!!

Ive also listened to Seahorse Transform - Dust from a Trip, which is chill but absolutely awesome. Its the most shpongled thing ive heard since Are You Shpongled? Probably the best chill/alien tribal ritual music ive heard in a while %)
 
^Sonic Dragon and its brethren- Faerie Dragone, Mechanical Dragon and I can-tremenemtber-the-rest Draagon- are all oh so fine.
 
have any football fans in the us noticed that monday night football has been using short psytrance clips as background music on some of the in-game segues?

it's a national tv network - i'm sure they have legions of lawyers making sure the licensing is in place so they don't get sued...

^Good point. What artists I wonder? I'd bet its a hookup with Yellow Sunshine Explosion.... intriguing, I remember a GMS was featured in Man on Fire I think it was, of course during a "rave" scene. I can see why psy would be chosen, particualrly the really funky Sub 6 style elector bounce sound- be great to sync clips to come to think of it, and I have an assignemnet at school of a similar nature....aha, good idea Alasdairm, cheers. :)
