turkeyphant, did you go to Procs / Wizack / GOW? looked like a seriously good party, but Procs indoor? how was it?

some of the Echotek i've heard is pretty lush. Mr Peculiar is a legend, his latest track also out on the new liquid recs comp...

Yeah, wouldn't have missed it for the world. Wizack and GOW were pretty rinsing but Procs completely blew me away. I'm sure it would have been a thousand times better in a forest somewhere, but it was still pretty immense. Colosseum is a lovely club too.

Recently saw Psymmetrix play a killer outdoor set. Organismic were mindblowing too, but not exactly trance.

The norm- typical israel stuff. I can't be more specific, I thinkmI've divided psy genres up in my own way:)

If Israeli full-on is the "norm", I think a massive massive amount of psy deviates from it...

V-Tunes- Variables is a nice phat chunky proggy album, particualrly enjoying the triplet feel of track 6 whatever its called.

Saw the Commercial Hippies and Hydrofonics live on the weekend...along with a Melbourne prog lineup including Tetrameth, Sensient, Shadow FX and Tristan Boyle. Goood times.

What do people think of the new Penta and Azax albums?

I haven't listened to the Azax Syndrome album yet, but I couldn't listen to the whole Penta CD. I thought it was awful.

I went to Logic Bomb + Mr. Peculiar live

Logic Bomb live act rules, very psychedelic & still unique LB sound ;] ... Full-on from the pioneers of full-on showing how full-on should be :D ;)

So I guess I will definitely check their new album that is to be expected out soon...

& Yes I also think Penta's new album isn't anything good. Unfortunately, I only like his debut one, Pentafiles, in my opinion he kind of lost it after that...

^^^Sweet, Mr Peculiar, as I've said, farking rawks.

Anyhow I just purchased Manmademan- The Legend Remixes (Turbo Trance records) feat. Hallucinogen, Tryptych, Silicon Sound. Track two, Tristans Remix of Creation myth is awesome, as is Tranan-Arabian daze. Overall an awesome CD by good artists remixing a good group. I think its "older", as in 2005. Anyhoo, thats the psy I've been listening to as of late, as well as one of my favorites Cosmosis-Contact.

Liquid Phase are actually really good, some cheesy moments on Tranceaction, but still very cool in parts

Peace :)

^Tranan rocks. i'd been playing 'Restarter' heavily before someone referred to it as 'the new Logic Bomb album' - didn't realise he was half of...

i love manmademan, 'love technology' is an awesome album.

recently been listening to Flooting Grooves, which is quite nice chill/prog trance live band stuff... that and the two Hallucinogen albums, which i've never actually heard (and so far - well, they're ok... i guess i would have loved them a decade ago, but the music is so different now)

^ I've been coming across your namesake doing psytrance here in SF, just got me dancing this afternoon at a fest too. Doesn't look anything like you heh but do you know (of) him?

hehe yeah - aeon is such a nice guy. he's producing under the name Meta now. he got in touch with me just after the album came out, in something of a panic (since he'd been using Aeon to release the odd single). after some discussion about release schedules etc. he very very very magnanimously agreed to look for another name - a sacrifice which i really, really appreciated. especially since Aeon is actually his birth name!

he was really cool about the whole thing and i owe him a huge debt of gratitude. whenever i do get out to visit my family in LA we're going to hook up for a few days. there's also an 'aeon vs. aeon' collaboration in the pipeline sometime in the future :)

^^^Haha thats nice man. I love Orthodoxy btw :).

I just discover HexagonSun is Board sof Canada's studio name- damn it. Suess, have youu heard much of Electric Power Pole records? They are aussie adn release dreamy, fullon, minimal well all sortsa stuff... just curious.

Anyway, I'm loving Em Dee, an Aussie didj player. Wuwhwuwhwuw, check him/them out. Stomp is a fucking unreal album, very evocative didj, nice vox, guitars and live drums. Bit blandly recorded but the ecpressive quality of Emdees didj shines best on this. While he's not quite psy, he/they have been playing at some doofs in ozzzzzzz recently. Like ganga giri, but less doof (the album stomp at least)

:)

I was really enjoying his set and asked some hippie dude who it was and he was like "It's Aeon, from the UK". This got me thinking, is the name Aeon like the Smith of the psytrance world? =D I later saw the schedule on the side of the stage and yes he goes by "Aeon/Meta".

Do tell him I had fun at the How Weird Fest.
