Seeing Kindzadza, Error Corrective and Anisetic in Feb. :)

Thing I like most about the Parana album is how it seems to capture the Cape Town atmosphere perfectly.

^Yeh, I get you there; Aussie artist give me the full nice psy flashback expeirnce; due to exposure I guess on home soil. I will most liely buy the paraana album anyhoo; he is an artist that got me with Kowloon. Curious- what were his so called alternative actd?

Yes, but the abaies? Are you bringing them? A kindzadza show needs the death of 11.358 newborns to reach full velocity.

Hmm that made me feel a bitm"icky"- I think ill go masturbate over someones mum.

Dreads :P Reminds me of Tom Cosm a little. :)

Penta- TimeJump is fucking great. But at the moment its all the glory symphonies of Nightwish, with Tarja of course not the silly new twat.

I just picked up

Sattel Battle - Sounds cool

This album does indeed sound very cool. No really maybe its just me but thats how I would describe the sound of this its not dark or melodic its a cool sound.

and

VA - Snap Crackle Drop - Morning monster records

The perfect blend of fun quirky and bass exactly the sort of stuff I love to hear in the morning after a night full of scary dark tunes.

Kindzzadza NYE party fucking nice. I will bring babies to sacrifice.

Where's that? Kindzadza seems not to like playing European festivals as he keeps cancelling :( I'm going to a SA-sound themed NYE party.

Are you insinuating that you find Kindzadza to be "dark". Because to me Kindzadza is the light side of fast "neuro trance"(thats what we call it in the south east US". His stuff is super techy, computerish, glitchy, and melodic (in a super odd way) but far from dark. Olien/Horror Place and such would fall under "Dark" "baby sacrificing" psy for me.

Just curious. I love how different peoples perceptions of psytrance may be. After all one mans "dark freak out music" is another's "early morning life affirming trance"...

I used to think all super fast crazy psy like kindzadza was dark but then I started understanding how much variation there is in the genre. Now I can chill out to Kindzadza and lose myself in his music, reaching a peaceful state of mind when at previously in my life I would of felt like I was being mentally raped by space aliens if i listened to him.

I used to be solely melodic psy and think all the fast stuff sounded the same, ie people who claim all of Kindzadza's tracks sound the same. Now I notice massive variation in tracks, so its really all how you listen to it.

^Kindzadza is brilliant music, but highly vicious IMO. Not in a bad way, I love violent, agressive music, but at highvolumes it like destruction music. That said, I do love going to sleep listening to him and other like minded artists; the brilliant mix of frequencies and tones is really trance- inducing. Track 2 of his latest is fucking awesome in mid-sleep mode. I don't think that all fast darktrance sounds the same, esp. Kindzadza and I am over melodic psy. Its been killed, and rightfully. I just consider him dark because the sensation his tunes give me are one of darkness (I don't like horrortrance stuff) in a mysterious and electroforest way. Still, I could kill a baby to Kindzadza.

Turkeyphant, he is playing in vICTORIA, Australia for NYE, Tribedelic Gathering as it is called.

Hey willow, if you haven't yet heard anything from Sanaton Records, I think it would be right up your alley... very shroomy, dense, organic, twisted stuff. All of the compilations (Boldly Audio, Sanatonic Audio, Holocryptic Audio) are excellent examples of dark but highly psychedelic trance.

And of course the Schlabbaduerst compilations seem specifically designed to crack open the earth and release hordes of psytrolls...

Jesus, I'm out of the loop. Tarja isn't in Nightwish anymore? It was bad enough with Theatre of Tragedy ditched Liv Kristine, and that Anneke left The Gathering. What's next? Sharon gets fired from Within Temptation? Cristina leaves Lacuna Coil? :P It really sucks too, since Tarja easily ties with Sarah Brightman in my estimation for having one of the most amazing female voices I've ever heard. Definitely a belle canto.

Tumoas and the rest of the band wrote an open latter to her, immediately after filming the End of An Era dvd, and re-recording Sleeping Sun (2005) basically firing her, its on the Nightwish website- dodgy. Apparenlt she had been demanding extra money, acting divalike- though Tumoas allegedly had professed love for her, which was rejected. Tarja was married to her manager. She actually didn't even record with Nightwish; they recorded the music, sent it to her and she recorded the vocals; she acted more like a session musician. When Nightwish were going to do a show, they would email her....not much band cohesiveness. Then of course theres the drug allegations. But Tarja is still recording heavy metal, not very good though- plus she did a version of Smells Like Teen Sppirit that was sickeningly bad.

She had no idea that she was going to be fired APPARENTLY...

If you hear any of the new stuff, be ware- it is still beautiful and dramtic music, but with pop vocals. I have no idea why they chose the singer they did, but the album Dark Passion Play is okay.

Woops this is the psy discussion;)

Dalfir, I must say I don't think Ive ever lasted a full Space Tribe set; usually rock like a freak for the first twenty minutes, then boredom sets in a bit. His music is very samey, especially if you don't know it well. The last three Space Trive & Friends albums have pretty much been a triple CD, just released over several years. Mr Peculiar will rock your world.

Xenomorph's new cd is freaking awesome. Even the industrial track is cool (not cool enough that i'd throw it in a goa set, but still cool enough to listen to).

Goasia - From other Spaces: first full length cd from Goasia...master of the new goa movement...awesome cd, though some tracks are kinda just Goasia filler, but still great overall.

Marty Friedman (Megadeth) has a Psy album out called Zeta, under the same name.

I've heard a bit of newish hallucinogen which is as you say clean crisp and throbbing.

Woooaaaaah. New Hallucinogen material?!

Where is this stuff at? I can't seem to find anything on the Twisted main site. Where have I been?

Just got a V/A called High Technology Minds, has a very cool Shift track on it (Android Baby) that has some distinct club-trance elements but is still pretty pumping.
