Not sure if anyone else here is a fan of Scorb, but for my money he's one of the very best British psy producers out there, & he's got a new album coming out very soon.

Listen to 3-minute samples from each track here.

Sounds fucking awesome! %)

Willow1, the Parana album Digi-Sqauw is available on psyshop.com if you're interested. :)

i love this one track by scorb.....its scorb vs tenzing - cack o phony

love the drum n bass-ish sound. dnb sounds in psy = goooooooood

Seeing Shpongle and Hallucinogen Saturday night. It's been three years since I've seen either of them...and Shpongle's set then was responsible for transforming me from a raver to a stomper. It will be cool to see how far I've progressed since..and if Posford has gotten any better. :D

Well, judging by psyreviews you are not the only one- damien gave the most positive review ive ever read!!

Kryal Castle eh, Psychosynth? Back in the day.... please vomit somewhere for me. Should be good though, need I say anything about the Posford experience- but good aussies too. I think therea a free party in the forest with Dark nebula though as well, that looks good....

I just bought Bamboo Forest- Release Your Mind. It is the simplest, no frills ttacheed psy trance I've ever heard. Just simple melodies, repetitve beats, no real build ups or breaks- just fullon the whole way. For all that its boring, it has a few pretty sweet tracks; Andromeda stands out, but some of the samples and constant reversing ride cymbal (it ends almost every eight bars on the album- and nary a crash to greet it) on the album are wak. YYYYYYYYeeeeeeeeeh boooooooooooooooi.....

dALFIR- I often lose control of the bass, but needless to say- less is more. That low freqency range has long wavelngths and lots of power, so it might sound soft- but pump it and you'll hear that its loud as fuck. I think the best way to operate is to analyse a nice kick sample- for frequeccny content- and shape your bass line atround that. Choose what is going to sit higher or lower- the bassline, or the kick. Either can work, but a 'subbier' bassline needs more work if you use key changes. Try multiband compression a grouped kick/basss channel and maybe blend it with uncompressed signal. Or side chain kick to bass for added wump....

I'll listen to the song again to offer more hints. Though I thought the rolling bassline was good, considering you haven't been producing for that long; it would be good for any pro really with a bit of tweaking. Peace....

^Cheers man. Also, ask them politely to refrain from doing the melbourne shuffle due to safety procedures, steal their dirty pills wth your thoughts, stomp and disappear in the ensuing cloud of bush dust. :)

I was actually quite temptes to go, but I got KrayLed out with adventjah and other such prestige events. A good friend was actaully puked on while we sat on the concrete steps bit. It was great. I came down while trying to drive home at 100kmh, stoned and still hearing techno from that night. Be careful for drug buses, they are certain to be hemming the place in sadly....puke on them too, why not....
I did enjoy being on ketamine in that stupid maze though. You'll have a ball, enjoy it and get some kandy chick tl give simon posford head, it helps him 'play'. :0

I'm getting a lift up in a minivan, so no worries about the buses. The sniffer dogs, however...are another issue. One which my stealthly alter ego Druggy McSmuggly is working on!

^Give a dog a bone ;)

Picked up the new Younger Brother- splendid work of art, great tunes and production, some very evocative and thrilling moments- I particualry like tracks four and the last one at this stage. IMO, better by far then A Flock of Bleeps. Maybe Simons best musical work...

Also grabbed new Penta- Portugese Abduction. Well, dark shredding killah psy of course; more coherent then other groups of the ilk, good production and a slew of weird psychedelic sounds and patterns. I find this music hard to listen to for a extended period, but its nice to chuck on at hiiiigh volumes and crank the bass.

Boohoo, lack of any money and transport leaves me home for the weekend. Well, a christmas party with the family on sunday. Great...

Just got Portuguese Abduction myself...A bit too tweaky for me, but I haven't given it to many listens. Most albums grow on me.

Yeah, looks like it's gonna be a must-buy. Read the review here: http://www.psyreviews.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=603&Itemid=46

As for me, I was at a London squat this weekend for the launch of Phantom Planet on Free Radical Records. It was a lovely intimate affair in a killer venue and the all night long music was the best I've heard at a party for ages and ages. Line-up included Illegal Machines, Highko, Dirty Saafi and Bombax.

Posford was amazing. A two hour Shpongle DJ set which included a few younger brother tracks (new ones). Also played some classics such as DMT and Behind Closed Eyelids. It was mystical. The only problem was the wooden dancefloors. Boo to that.

Hallucinogen torn the main floor apart. Absolutely wonderful. It was incredibly amusing to watch the perplexed expressions on all the candy ravers/shufflers as they tried to figure out just what was happening, and why you couldn't shuffle to it. I was up the front the majority of the time, all the doofers/psy-people seemed to find each other amongst the fluro and faux-fur sea.

It was also hilarious hearing that "You, know I...I need a mircale. It's more physical da dad da..." track after Hallucinogen finished. I danced around clapping my hands singing along for a while for a laugh, then beat a quick retreat back to the psy floor.

^Gotta extend your tastes brother!! :)
The samples sound okay- I'm fucking over boring fullon though, so its eaither gonna be utterly dark, or sweetly nice. Middle ground is bleeeeeeeeegh. I quite liked the jazzy segment in the first track, but overall it sounds like pretty standard fullon psy.

Kindzzadza NYE party fucking nice. I will bring babies to sacrifice.
