Awesome. Trumps PR chief said it was the biggest crowd ever but then thats just more hot air and lies from that camp. Politicians normally stretch the truth but Trump simply makes it up as he goes along. Doest give a fuck. Cunt.
 
I still blame the democrat elite and their cheating during the primaries for this. Sanders should be pres.
 
^^ And that's why the protests should have happened then, and why the current anger is misplaced, IMO. It's like nobody is blaming the Dems or the Clinton cronies, and yet they are the main culprits.
 
I tend to agree. Bernie was stitched up like a kipper which is such a shame because it was amazing and inspiring to see a politician representing something much closer to left of centre politics than I thought possible for the US.

After decades of hearing about distinctly right of centre folk like the Clintons and Obama being described as 'Socialists' it was really encouraging to see somebody who is recognisably of the left garnering so much support. And then so discouraging to see the political machine closing ranks and machinating him out of contention. Discouraging but in no way surprising.

Reminds me of the way Jeremy Corbyn is being treated here by his own party. Far too actual left for 'New' Labour (or Tory Lite) but thankfully there is at least a mechanism for the party membership to override the wishes of the MPs and keep him as leader.

Of course the media have done almost as effective a job of sidelining him all on their own. Will be interesting to see how the media deals with Trump in office - particularly in light of his clear disdain for freedom of the press. The North Korea-style opening salvos from Trump and team over the first couple days suggest interesting times ahead. Let's hope the media find the balls to do their job properly for once.
