Hundred percent agree with you.

I had a grandmother like that. Bitch swigged gin like a fish, fucked her family up, then at 70 had a visitation, found Jesus and told us we were all evil for drinking.

If the OP wants to control his use of substances fine. But turning into a giant Karen is kinda an asshole move.

No mate, I've read the lot. I take responsibility for my own life choices. Agitate to get poppy seeds regulated. Jesus.

At least I know you will never get around to writing to your local MP about it. That would require some sort of civic mindedness.

Some people think it's more practical to change the world than change themselves. Never works of course.
 
Regulation and prohibition never works. What works is safe supply of drugs to people who want to use them. Don't be an asshole and try and get them banned, be happy you are off them and if you want to push for something push for safe use and safe supply harm reduction.

I honestly thought it was a joke until I tried it. I was shocked that I got any high at all, let alone a reasonably decent opiate high. It really fucked up my health. I got terrible stomach issues which are permanent. The withdrawals were so painful and the high was not anywhere close to being worth the price of admission.
 
The recent thebaine poisoning fiasco nearly killed a good mate of mine. Dreadful business. They will be regulated now & probably rightly so. It's one thing to eat dates pressed under an arabs armpit but who knows what these Turkish cowboys are doing to their crops anyway.

Thank God I'm now clean. 2 years no opiates. It's getting worse as the years pass, these E-Bay poppy seed cowboys are responsible for a lot of harm.
 
Updating on this journey.

Since this post I haven't, to this day touched another opiate. I actually cringe reading this post now, I was a pathetically weak individual who allowed this to completely consume my life.

I now have an amazing Mrs, a pretty good life and am mostly drug free (apart from my love of cannabis which is of course "medical") and completely alcohol free.

It's possible to do it, it's all about your mindset.
 
I grew pap. som out this year. seeds from Tasmanian poppys. Harvested the pods. Dosed 5 this morning, maybe a threshold effect. I'll go again tomorrow morning and dose 10. Probabaly got a couple doses tops if I need 10+ pods. See how they go

I quit a deep heroin addiction years ago by taking up fishing.
 
Dosed 3 grams of ground up pods, for no effect. Dont know why these havnt done anything. At least I know for the future

I feel for you, i have been addicted to opiates/opioids since 1994 when I was introduced to heroin.

However it really angers me when people who have had an issue with a particular suvstance take it upon themselves to go on a crusade to try and make said substances unavailable to the general population.

Some people can't handle/discipline themselves and end up with a problem, others can discipline their use and do not develop an issue.

Leave the bloody things alone and let others learn about things in their own way.
 
@AyahuascaSeeker, I will retract my previous statement.

I read your post number 11, where you said that once you had finished with the wd you would be changing all that, which seemed to be indicating that you would push for making sure there was no more unwashed seeds available.

So then I continued to read and came across your post number 23 where you say that over regulation/restriction is not the answer and that you are against blanket prohibition.

So, there's not much else for me to say except I'm sorry for jumping to conclusions before reading the entire thread.
